Good Morning,

Another cool one here...sun later they said. Rained off & in yesterday. Yesterday I worked on the embellishments for my 2 teapot wall hanging.

Today is uglies day for me. Oh yes, I can't go anywhere the car has a flat & I have to wait for them to come & put the spare on. They said probably Mon.....,I hope so I want to pick more blueberries.

Teresa....hope your HD heals quickly. More storage is always a good thing.

Suzette .....hope you find the item of your dreams at the flea market. I know there is always something for us at a quilt shop otherwise they would not call it a quilt 'shop'.

Jules....I loved seeing you loverly DD at her graduation. You looked so happy. And the most important thing she has a job.......wonderful.

Dolores.....congratulation to Patrick too. Have a wonderful party.

Izzy....I know what you mean about the odd weather. I don't ever remember going to bed in flannel with 2 quilts in the middle of July!!
Sorry you ran out of fabric...what a shame, a trip to the LQS! Have fun.

Maryq....have a smooth & fast work day. Hope the weather holdes for you & the grass.

Velda....Some of my quilting slows in the summer too liks hand quilting. No A/C no hand quilting!!

Judi....congratulations to you DGDs!!! Have a wonderful time...
I know you'll have a wonderful sleep over with the 3 little ones.

Vicky....hope you find a little sewing time....you're on a roll.

Love & Prayers....Kathy

I had looked them over twice and didnt notice them. Well I took them apart and redid them thnk goodness she spotted them I am OCD perfectionist and would have just died had I sent those to her like that.

Good morning.. we had a great vacation... it was short but always nice to come home...

Jules, love the pictures of your graduate... I am so excited for her as she starts out with her new job and house.. and her fiancee is a cutie too.

Teresa.. you sure have a lot of blocks to square up.. I have never been able to get a cabin squared up properly..looking forward to seeing yours all nice and pretty...

Suzette, I went to a quilt shop when we went to the coast.. my goodness fabric has gone up... some was $14 a yard... either it was the area I was in or it's just craziness.... I haven't been in a quilt store to shop in a long time...

Dolores.. make sure you post a picture of Patrick for us.. how fun to be him right now... you are a cool grandma to have his party at your place...

Izzy, I am looking forward to seeing your owls....especially the turquoise one...

Maryq.. I need to get moving on my Christmas blocks too, yet I sit here and type... lol

Velda, I also enjoy seeing or hearing about what everyone is doing..

Judi, fun to get the grands and wonderful that their parents get some alone time... sorry about your stems... I am going to try to make some soon and am a little afraid, but if I don't put my toe in the water I will never get to swim...

Vicky.. sorry no one else is available for the family reunion.. hope it's fun...

Maryz... a BBQ sounds wonderful.. I think maybe we need a cookout today.... not quite sure what, but something really good... Mar and I need to go into town so a stop at the grocery store will be a good idea.

Kathy, sorry about your flat tire.... it was cool where we were staying... too cold to leave the windows open at night...but boy could we feel the temperature change as we got further and further from the water.....I so want to see a picture of your tea cups and pot when you're done.

today I am washing clothes and will do some dishes while Jerry sweet talks the garden and trees... they are not real happy with him but hopefully he can smooth things over....

Marilyn and I will go through everything that was in her room before putting it back... it's all in the living room now but at least she will have a clean slate and no junk... we also need to get her some more hangers.. she has neon yellow and turquoise blue now and needs bright pink...

I so want to sew a bit, but if I don't get to it today it will be after church tomorrow... I got my mc calls quilting magazine while I was away.. I have skimmed through it.. can't wait to really sit down and read it...

well, if I don't get started I won't ever get done...

hope you all have a superb weekend

Good morning from warm, but rainy, SW. Pa....More rain, which means, grass is growing faster than Jim can get it mowed......Our weather here has been weird, also....Just the other night, I wore flannel PJs....Middle or end of July!

Seems like you gals are really up and at em, already this morning....Lots of interesting things going on from graduation parties to "needing" to go to quilt shops.......

Yesterday I played cards and ate goodies all afternoon....Every time one of the gals would hand me something to eat, I'd "try" to remember those 20 pounds I want to loose in the next 2 weeks....We have a big wedding on the 10th and it's either drop the weight or go buy a new "slightly bigger" dress.....But, those goodies were good!

Today is a little ugly day, just getting the house in order for the weekend....I did put 4 loaves of banana/nut bread in the oven and the house smells so good.....AND, I'm going to finish the last 3 rows of my summer porch quilt and then start to redo the sewing room.....I'll just have to put the sewing on hold for a couple of weeks.....

Thank goodness for security cameras and let's just hope and pray they get the person and make him/her pay dearly.....Don't you wonder what goes on in the minds of these people?

I just had a call from my DDIL (Kevin's wife) and she is so excited...She decided to go to one of the casinos near here and stopped at the 1st machine and won $1500...She said, Kevin had just spent $1000.00 on carpeting for the new house so this will take care of that....But, she is a very lucky gal, besides being married to my son....She'll get a $1.00 rub off lottery ticket and win $100....Me, I could buy those tickets till the cows come home and win nothing.....lol......

Oh well, I need to get the vacuum going and then head to the sewing room.......

You all have a great day....................

Good morning!

The clouds are thickening and getting darker as I type - we are scheduled for thunder, lightning and rain today and tomorrow. The grands are coming out to mow the lawn in a few minutes - sure would be nice if the rain held off - it should - usually takes until the afternoon for the storms to appear.

I got all of my blocks done for the cabin swap! Yippee! Now on to the new pattern from El - the Christmas Tree and Wreath - all log cabin blocks - they are two small wall hangings. Sarah has the Christmas fabrics she wants them done in - I am teaching this class at the LQS I work for in October. That is why I need to get them done - the shop hangs up all the class projects on the wall, so my time frame is the end of August to have them all completed. The shop wants me to teach it twice - once in the morning and once in the evening. On Tuesday I am teaching my Christmas stocking - I have two students - should go easy!

Sarah will be here in a few as well, she is painting the rest of the north wing - down where the LA goes. We are using the part we already painted - it is great to have this space! Never realized how much I missed having my own space! The LA is coming - we just need to remove some of the last of the dead insulation that is buried in the future bathroom down here and move the train table parts out too. The space we need to turn the large pieces of train table are smack in the middle of the LA space - so we are waiting just a couple of weeks before I get to order it. We have made an area that can store the train stuff - out of DH's way as he builds the first sections of the new layout.

Well I had better get going - a Ward member is coming over to raid my scrap stash - she is going on Trek with our Ward and they are making rag dolls as an activity out on the trek trail. It is the same trail that Stu is on right now. He will be home later this afternoon.

Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Good afternoon all! Just a quick stop in. I want to get my quilt top pinned today so I can start quilting it soon. Also have some uglies to do. Getting back to normal since the kids left, but it sure is quiet.

Suzette - So glad they got a picture of who did that to the Lincoln Memorial. Makes you wonder what kind of a person would do that. Hope they throw the book at whoever did it.

Maryq - Have fun mowing. I did that yesterday so I could "goof off" and sew this weekend. Also this is a big weekend for NASCAR at the Brickyard.

Judi - I know what you mean about Michigan. It is so beautiful especially in the upper part. My family rented a cottage at a lake near Gaylord for 2 weeks when I was young. Some of the best and most fun of my life. One of the best parts was all the roadside produce stands. That is where I got my love of Sweet cherries.

Teresa - Hope Rob's ankle gets better soon. Have "fun" squaring up your cabin blocks.

Jules - Loved the pictures of Charley's graduation and your family. She will make a great teacher.

Irisgram - if you don't know what to do with the banana nut bread send it my way. I haven't made any in a long time. Sounds great.

Chrissy1 - So glad Mo loves the Corps. My son and his family are going to a new post in Okinawa in October for 3 years. I am actually glad because that means he won't be deployed to the Middle East while there. He has been in Afghanistan and Iraq enough.

Well, better go get some lunch so I can starting pinning the quilt.
Hope everyone has a good day and gets to do some sewing. Prayers for all who need them.

Sherry

Ok take a quick look: here is the owl door hanging I am working on. Nothing is sewn yet just pinned to my wall. Still have to square up background fabric and borders. This is a pattern in quiltmaker july/aug13. What do you think?

Just wanted to let you all know, I was in Target and I always look at the dollar isle when I go in. They had boxes of Shout Color Catchers. 12 in a box for $3 each. I know that isn't a true dollar special but kinda close.
