Re: Sunday July 7th
Good Morning Everyone,
Cindyg....I am so sorry to hear about ED. Prayers going up for the family and all. A person is never prepared for this no matter if you known for a long time or if it is sudden.
Maryq.....Be sure to let us know how that phone works been thinking about trying one but at my age I'd problem mess up the whole world!
Sharona......my little four legged furrbabies keep the neighborhoos squirrel in place and chase him out of the yard if he tries to mess with my bird feeder! m it's cute to watch them!
Chriss........I read or was told not sure which now but anyway they said to put coffee gounds in paper or cotton fabric I want to say and put it out where they ants are they will eat it an it kills thems be worth a try I guess. Knock on wood I haven't had any problems this to try this.
It's going to be another hot one today so thinking of staying home and doing some more sewing can't make up my mind if I should quilt or work on another project.
I hear hubby up and about so better see what I can get him for breakfast hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone.
Grammiequilts do you know what pace yourself means!!!!!!!! I am sure you needed the rest if you slept in.
Well tomorrow Mo heads for Camp Geiger NC to start his training. First phase will be done I. About ten weeks and then more training. When he was in boot camp we could do a count down until we would see him, but not this time. My sister says when I get nervous I bake, and she is correct, everyone is getting treats in the neighborhood!!!!!!
8I am going to my favorite quilt shop today. It is like a mini retreat as I can just loose myself in the fabrics there. I really have to get back to sewing. I miss it, and am just being such a slug about it.
I hope everyone is doing well.
I am also going to a lavender farm today. Who knew the even was such a place. And it is only about 20 minutes from our house. Next weekend they are having a lavender festival and our friend has a foreign exchange student coming for a visit, so before we take her there I want to see what it is like. I have. One huge lavender plant and I don't even know what kind it is.
I hope everyone has a beautiful day and takes good care with all of this crazy weather.
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all in need
Pink is my color of choice and should be your reminder to get your mamo.
The boys Nd our daughter Re really going to miss Mo, well okay Pappa and I also.

Re: Sunday July 7th
This is a kind of weird thing - I just happened to notice this morning that my five year anniversary on this form RIGHT TO THE VERY MINUTE that I signed up was the exact same minute in present time! What are the odds of seeing that??
Sorry I missed several of you this morning. I was busy hugging Sue and her DH good bye. Such delightful folks! Wish they could have stayed longer.
CHRISS - what fun for Marilyn that you are letting her choose her colors. I have some turquoise and pink fabric (with cats on it. >^+^< ) and it's really kind of pretty. White and a tiny bit of black are the accent colors. Maybe I should send it to Marilyn. You cracked me up with your choice of your next pet! lol!
SHARONA - I'm excited for you! and for your squirrels!! lol! Safe travels!
VELDA - Sue and I hit 3 quilt shops yesterday and we saw a few new Christmas fabrics starting to trickle in - even in our tiny little local shop. But not many yet. I was happy to find enough fabric in my stash for my blocks.
JUDI - is there anyway to change the height of your quilt frame to ease your back? We have hydraulic lifts on ours and they were more than worth the money we spent - especially now that Bill is doing most of the quilting. There is 7+ inches difference in hour heights.
SUZ - your lake day sounds so fun! Sorry about the UGHlies. They seem to be unending, don't they. Good news! My son and DIL are going to pick up my fair entries so we're good to go here! How 'bout you?
Hi to all who are following. Have a Super Sunday!

Re: Sunday July 7th
Good morning!
Up and running here - Church is in a few and I have a BD party tonight - it is my youngest, Aaron's, 26th BD and they are coming for dinner and then all the others will come for cake and ice cream. This starts all the BD's that are in the family - no break until December - there is at least one, if not more each month and throw in my anniversary too. We will be busy!
Got a little sewing done, but the finger was giving me fits for using it too much - almost a normal pink now.
Got my jam all done - made raspberry and it came out beautiful! Tastes good too! I will make some more strawberry in a couple of weeks. Sarah did, at her house - 8 quarts of pickles and 24 pints of jam. She did some fruit leather too - Ethan loves it!
Rained again last night with more thunder and lightning - can't send it to Chriss - that is where it is coming from! LOL
Time to put the finishing touches on me for church -
Have a great day
Hugs,
Jana

Re: Sunday July 7th
Good morning everyone...I stayed home today to finish getting the ughlies and Mt Washmore finished. I need to get back to the antique quilt now that my thumbnail has grown out enough to file down past the hole. There are about 5 linear feet left on the border to get quilted.
I'm with Chriss about getting an anteater for my next pet addition. I haven't tried it yet, but I was told pouring vinegar on the ant beds would kill them off. I will get a couple gallons and try it. If it works, I'll let you know.
Prayers being said for Cindy's friend Ed's family and friends.
Maryz, so glad you and Sue had such a fab time.
Maryq, good luck with your new I-phone.
Have a safe trip Sharona. Hope the squirrels stay away from the birds while you are gone.
Please keep DH (Randy) in your prayers. He is out of work again, and this time he is having difficulty getting approved for unemployment. If he isn't able to get it at all and doesn't find work soon, I will have to get a second job.
Blessings to each of you.

Cindyg - so sorry to hear about Ed. Prayers for the family and loved ones.
Sharona - one year we bought a blow-up owl that was supposed to scare away squirrels. We got him all set up so he could look intimidating from anywhere in the backyard. Then the cat came out. The cat made a beeline for that owl and with one pounce popped him with his claws. And so the battle with the squirrels continued!
Chriss - turquoise and pink, hmmmmmm. It's only paint and Marilyn will be thrilled. I had to really convince David to let Elizabeth paint her walls plum with brown trim (she never got the trim painted) but she was going through a rough time and it made her happy. That is one of the rooms that just got painted over to a shade of white with another shade of white trim! David bit his tongue with the plum and is much happier with the current color scheme!

Re: Sunday July 7th
About ants - while a pet anteater sounds enticing - another way to go is boric acid. it's actually the active ingredient in Fleabuster's powder, but about 15% of the cost. We get it at the feed store, but maybe hardware stores would carry it, too? It works great on ants. We powder ant hills with it, and if we see ants anywhere else, lay a line of it. It kills them if they try to cross it. About $7 here for a container about the size of a quart of milk. and don't forget, if you have pets, sprinkle it on your carpets, too, for flea problems. VERY effective and won't hurt the pets.

Re: Sunday July 7th
Thanks for the tips and tricks for ants. We also use vaseline on our hummingbird feeders (ants can't crawl through the vaseline). But it gets to be a nuisance to keep cleaning and re-applying the vaseline.
I am going to look into the boric acid. great tip.
Thanks
Velda

Velda I spray the bottom of mine with cooking oil. That works too and you dont get hands yukky. Good squirt of bug spray works too:)
