Good morning!

Happy Birthday El!

Happy Birthday Chriss! Your BD dinner sounds delish! Dinner and a show - what fun! Have a great day!

Quiet day around here - DH is working and I think that I will go and get the boys - Stu and Ethan in awhile. Sarah is getting off early today - so basement finishing might be in order - I sure hope so!

Found the sofa that I like - just need to see it in person to make sure - and if they can upholster the matching chair in a fabric that I want - I have one in mind - saw it in a mag a year or so ago with a red quilt on it - fell in love with it!

So a few uglies and sewing for me - we still need to find an airless painter - still on the hunt!

Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Working late shift today, again... but tomorrow OFF! YIPEE. Working the weekend tho, which is kind of a bummer.. won't get much sewing time in I'm afraid. Tomorrow I'm going to go help my Sister pack up my Auntie's apartment, but there's a Joann on the way so I think I'll stop there and see what treats I can find. Friday is payday so it's all good!

Last night I stopped at the Hardware store and bought myself a new saw! Thinking that I could cut up the dead tree in my back yard by myself. Saw works good, but the mosquitos got to me big time before I could get anything cut! Think that will be a project for another day... maybe Wednesday when I'm off! I told my room mate to stand by with band aids just in case!

Room mate is working out well.. She's not a SUPER ENERGY type person, so a lot of her stuff isn't unpacked yet. She offered to run the vac for me to keep up with the cat hair. Hair doesn't bother me, but it's nice to have her help clean up etc. Once in a while I'll cook a dinner for us and that's kind of fun.... even tho I don't LOVE to cook. She has more movies than Net Flix so I have quite a library to choose from to watch while I sew. And if I ever want to read a book.... I don't have to go to the library, there's one right here!

Chriss... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! I won't ruin your birthday by singing to you... but I do wish you a very special day! Too bad you have to work today, but I bet you are looking forward to your Song By Marilyn tonite! Oh to be 50 again!

Maryz...Raspberry jam! NUM!!! My Dad used to make it all the time! I miss his homemade jam. Remember, if it doesn't set up right, it makes great topping for Ice Cream!

Carole....wishing you safe travels! Keep on knitting and if you run out of yarn, let me know. I still have a couple totes boxes full! Plus a huge tote full in my porch! Lots of baby yarn as I'm still knitting baby hats!

Lois.... Have fun at the Fabric warehouse.... There's a big place like that not to far from where I work.. OH how I wish I had time to go there! But it's probably a good thing I don't!...looking at the stash I already have on hand!

Suzette .... I googled "How to build an Ark" and believe it or not, there is a web site that can tell you! Hope it stops raining for you soon. And if you do build an ark, leave the mosquitos behind! and snakes, don't take any snakes on board.

Vicky...prayers for Caleb every day that he stays safe!!!

Judi....hope you are doing okay back on caffeine! It's my drug of choice! I bet you are just loving have those kids back in MI!!!

Velda.. probably a good idea to stay off the lake tomorrow... too many folks drinking beer out on the lakes on a holiday. When my sis and I had the cabin.. I rarely went up on a holiday, traffic was always terrible and lots of crazies around!

Sharon... sounds like you're getting ready to GO! Do you have good book to read on the way, so something to do while you ride along? That's when I started knitting baby hats.. driving from MN to Alaska!

Guess I better get butt in gear for a bit this morning before I have to get ready for work. Need to give the kitchen a once over and find something for lunch.

Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

El and Chriss......May God bless you with a very special day today filled with fun, love of family and friends, lots of cake and ice cream and candles, and so many great memories. Happy Birthday!!!

So many busy folks today. I need to be one of them but just got up and need to get breakfast first. I grabbed some coffee tho.

We had a dust storm last night but still no rain. Supposed to start cooling off today. Only 108 yesterday, down from the 119* record breaker we had last week. I am dreading the electric bill this month. Seems to run constantly just trying to keep the house somewhat cool, around 80*.

Love all the self portraits. Ladies, you all did a stunning job. I think you should have a special category for each one since they are all so diff but each special in their own way. Voting will so hard. Personally I would declare each a winner in their own category. Thank you for presenting your version of yourselves, lovely ladies both inside and out. Great job on all your parts.

So many things will be dedicated to memory of firemen lost and their families over the holiday weekend. Prayers for all our firefighters, especially the ones still out there fighting for our safety. Prayers for the military and their families, police, and all first responders. Be careful on the 4th. Safety first before the fireworks set off more fires around the country.

May God bless you all today and always. Hugs and love across the miles, Shirley Mae

Good early afternoon from semi sunny, warm, SW. Pa....No rain, she says, quietly.......

A very big Happy Birthday to our Birthday Gals.....
Chriss, A whole century, wow! It is too bad you have to be at work but just think of the fun that waiting for you later....What a dinner, sounds like a perfect birthday..It is good being you......You know, I can't even remember way back when I was 50 but I'm sure it was a good .....

I finished my scrappy quilt and now on to the curtains...I was ready to cut the fabric and my DDIL called and I never got back to it....I then had a text from Kathy asking if the corn is ready...We have a farm that has the best corn and she wants me to send her some...We are also noted for our Islays chipped/chopped ham but I hoping she doesn't want any sent to Reno....One year, I was going to Myrtle Beach with a girlfriend and the friend down there wanted the chipped ham...So we packed a carry on with pounds of chipped ham and the friends mother had made fresh bread which we added to the carry on...We're walking through Pgh. airport and the carry on broke and the bread started rolling down the escalator...Needless to say, the bread didn't make it to S.C.......

Today, I'm pulling a Joanne....Or maybe I've been adopted by the Pringles.....Kitchen is closed and we're headed out....Jim has taken a liking to Applebees and I'm sure not one to argue......
Chriss, I'll have dessert, just for you.......

You all have a great day.....................

Good morning all,

I am here at work, as usual. Just wanted to pop in and say "Happy Birthday" to our birthday girls.

Chriss, I hope this is the bestest birthday ever!

After today, I will have five whole days off! Unfortunately, Monday will be without pay. Boy, is that irksome. Especially when you read about the pres. going on vaca to Africa, or sending $$$ to different countries for whatever....oh well, could be worse I guess.

I guess everyone is gearing up for the holiday tomorrow. Not sure what all we will be doing other than a birthday party for DGS. He will be turning seven on Monday but we are celebrating tomorrow for various reasons. He is very concerned about the birthday cake. I assured him that even if we eat all of the cake tomorrow, I would make sure he had birthday cake on Monday, as well! He is so funny!

Well, time for me to get back to work. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day.

Hugs,
Mel
