Re: Saturday, June 22
Good morning all! Not much going on today. It is a bad day for asthma according to the weather channel so will stay in and sew and do some uglies.
Judi - Glad you are feeling better and they didn't have to put in a stent. I didn't have to have one either.
Jodie - So sorry about your rib not getting better. Take it easy and rest. I am with you. We tent camped when our boys were young and I enjoyed it. Nowadays if they are not cooking my meals or making my bed I am not going. LOL
Pat - I agree with you. I love home grown tomatoes, but I have clay and they won't grow for me. I found a great roadside market that has the best homegrown tomatoes so I get mine there.
Well, better go and get something done. Hope everyone has a good day. We are supposed to have hot, humid weather with storms for the next few days. We need the rain bad here in NW Ohio. Prayers for all who need them. Only 1 week until my DS and his family starts for home here for a visit. They are driving. He says he wants to see some of this country he has been defending for the last 25 years.

Good morning, good morning!
I have watched the morning news, had my coffee and hot breakfast, and now it is time to paint!
After that I need to get some batting together and sandwich some quilt tops. There is a sister and a brother in our church who are getting married next weekend - one on Sat. and the other on Sun. The poor mom is not invited to her son's wedding. He cut off communication with her 5 years ago and will not tell her why. Such a heart ache.
I was tickled to come across some vintage fabrics this week. Not that long ago I would have found them undesirable, but I really get excited with them now.
Okay, off to put on the painting clothes (and hopefully I don't spill the paint down the front of them again!)
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!
Jodie - OUCH on the rib - that sounds just awful, and exactly like something I would do. I hope it doesn't take too much longer until it's healed and your back in your bed.
Lois - happy mancation to you and your DH! I'm sure they'll have a great time.
Suzette - I'm glad the massage brought him some relief. Maybe the more he goes, the more relief he'll get. Have fun at the graduation party.
Jules - enjoy your mancation as well! Poor Charley - hope her cold goes away soon. Enjoy the game.
Sandy - so you've got a mancation too! Hope the storms didn't do much damage. Sorry you have to un-sew.
Judi - isn't it great that you have such a wonderful nurse. I'm so glad you're on the mend - hope they get your meds straightened out.
Scrappy Pat - home grown tomatoes are my favorite! My energy also is zapped by the heat. Hope the dogs enjoy their spa day.
Maryq - happy no phone day! Do you need groceries?!
Maryz - Jack the ripper - that's a good one! DH is feeling great these days - thanks for asking. He's up to walking 10,000 steps a day and is somewhat anal about it. Oh well. I didn't go with him this morning because I didn't want to! It's too dang hot for me. Our anniversary was in March, but of course we can't have the OH kids driving out in winter so that's why we're doing the celebration next month. I had forgotten this was called a silver anniversary. I wonder what prize your rig will win - enjoy the potluck!
Chriss - your dad sounds like a wise man! What a great idea if you have to redo the floor in the camper. My gosh I cannot believe how long it is taking them to get y'alls background check done. I'm glad you slept in - I'm sure you needed it! If you're getting some of Lois' potato salad, I'll take Jerry's leftovers....
Sherry - staying indoors and sewing sounds like a great idea. What a great idea your son has to drive - I love road trips. I thank him for his service.
Karlene - that is so sad about the son and his mom. Happy painting to you - whether it's on the wall or your clothes. Monday is almost here...
Jana - enjoy your spending!
I need to get a small sewing machine for the OH granddaughters and then figure out some small project for the four older girls to do. I also need to put together 'road trip bags' for the two granddaughters coming back with us. DH has put $ down on a conversion van I cannot stand - it's a v6 instead of a v8. We'll have to push it up over the mountain passes. The conversion package is awful also. I woke up at 2 and couldn't get back to sleep but OH WELL. It's the last van we'll ever buy - DH turns 66 in a couple of weeks so we figure we've got another ten years yet of cross country road trips. Ok - better get to the Dollar store for some car games. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Re: Saturday, June 22
Good morning all.
It is a splendiferous day here in the Great PNW. Actually looks like Summer outside!
Poor DGS....he woke up in the wee hours this morning moaning and groaning. Said his tummy hurt. Went and sat on the potty for a while til he felt better. Climbed back into bed with me and then started tossing and turning again. Threw up all over the place so we got that cleaned up and put him in the tub with some warm water and bubbles. Now he is nursing some Gatorade and watching 'toons. He seems to be feeling better. I sure hope so. Too pretty outside to be sick inside. Plus, today is his last baseball game. I sure would hate for him to miss it.
Judi, so glad to see you today! Give Ken a big ol' hug from us and tell him thanks for taking such good care of you! Hope you are back to your old self in no time.
Jules, I hope Charley feels better soon. DGS love to have PJ days, too...even when he isn't sick.
Jodie, I sure hope that rib gets better soon. Sure does sound painful.
Lois, I hope you enjoy your DH's mancation! LOL
Suzette, hope you find a quilt shop or two. Have fun at the party.
Sandy, hope you enjoy your DH's vaca, too! LOL
Scrappy Pat, I agree about the tomatoes! I used to eat them like an apple when I was a kid.
Maryq, sorry you have to work this weekend. Hope you get to find some "me" time in there somewhere.
Maryz, enjoy the last day of your rally. Hurry home, you are missing the good weather!
Chriss, we felt like prisoners here in WA while waiting on the whole court thing for our DGS....just knowing you can't cross that state line. I sure hope they finish up the process soon so that y'all can get this thing finalized! That calendar swap sounds interesting.
Sherry, hope your asthma doesn't flare up....you best leave those uglies alone and just concentrate on the sewing! LOL Enjoy your day.
Karlene, I hope your painting is uneventful! The vintage stuff is growing on me, too! LOL Too sad about the mom/son thing. What a shame she can't go and see her son get married.
Jana, hope you find something fun to do today!
Well, I best go check on my precious DGS. I sure hate when little ones aren't feeling well.
I hope you all have a wonderful day. I'll pop back in later.
Hugs,
Mel

Good morning girls. I am moving a bit slow this morning. I think a second pot of coffee is in order. I'll get it brewing, then get started on all the uglies. Once I get to Mt. Washmore I can slip away to the sewing room for a bit.
Jodie, so sorry your ribs are still hurting. Hope you feel better soon.
Judi it is good to see you back. Take it easy though so you don't have a relapse. Still praying!
Maryz have a safe trip back home from the rally.
Lois the potato and macaroni salads sound delish...maybe you could send a helping this way when DH is heading over to Chriss'.
Chriss, what fun shopping for a camper/tent.
Well, I'm off to get some cleaning done before the heat becomes too hot. Everyone have a splendid day.

Good morning from warm, sunny, purrrrfectly gorgeous SW. Pa....My kind of weather, finally........
Today is finish the uglies and whirlpool waltzing...The sheets are on the line and just need to run the vacuum.....I'm hoping to get back to my scrappy blocks...I had enough but decided to make the top bigger....AND would you believe, when I was at Walmart the other day, they had some great fabric on sale and a bunch jumped right in my cart...Since I've used so much of my stash, I think I deserved to get new, right?????
Judi, so glad you're back home and in the care of your DH...Take is easy, you'll get that super power back before you know it..Did they use the Angio-Seal? Wonderful invention.....But, enjoy all that TLC........
Chriss, I'd be so excited about getting a camper..I'm like so many, not a "air mattress on the ground" person but that camper looks great....Our oldest DS has a hunting camp near Cook Forest and we've gone there for years...But, that's sleeping in a building with running water and inside potty.....Jim always said, he had enough tent/cot sleeping in the army and now wants a solid roof over his bed....
Lois, I envy you having a week to yourself...As Chriss said, just think of the trouble you can get into, even without her help...Jim used to go on Notre Dame trips and I loved every minute of it, lol.....Of course that's when I'd change the furniture around or paint a room or just do nothing..........
Well, I hear the washer calling my name, gotta go......
You all have a great day................

Well, 6 hrs of painting was enough for me today! I still need to do one more coat on the trim and I hope that is all for that room.
Sharona - I remember my grandma putting together a box of little gifts, (one for me and one for my brother) and each gift had an instruction on it of when we could open it on our road trip. Like 'Open this one when you see a car with a California license plate', or 'Open this one on your 3rd gas fill-up'. We had so much fun looking at those little wrapped boxes and keeping track of when we could open one!
Dorothy - I think I need to get some painting tips from you. I seem to be incredibly slow at it!
Still have not gotten to the batting - I need to venture down those basement steps.

Hi everyone!
Had a great time at the Quilt show in Alamogordo yesterday, then went to the LQS and Walmart and then a cookout at my sister's....it was a fun day! We were gone from 6:45am to almost 9pm last night! I was so tired and my back was hurting me so bad I was about in tears and my left leg was numb but hurt like crazy, if that makes any since. I had big plans today but they didn't ever happen LOL we did take Duncan in today for his bath and haircut and we grocery shopped then cam home and DH made hotdogs on the grill and at 12:50 I sat in my recliner to rest and watch a movie with Duncan on my lap and next thing I knwe it was 3:20....I actually fell asleep for over 2 hours! WOW! I just don't do that LOL.
Chriss, the camper looks nice
) I'm almost finished with my trees
) and I found my perfect fabric for the Christmas swap blocks
) but I still don't understand the calendar thing LOL maybe just cause I'm tired ;o)
I had a great talk with MaryR on the way home yesterday evening
)
So happy to hear Judi is doing better!
)
Teresa, gomdrats!
Well I have tons to do tomorrow so I better get off here and get some rest. I hope you all have a good evening. Prayers for those in need.
