Re: Friday, June 21, 2013
I'm back. I just wanted to give you all an update on a good friend you helped to pray through a crisis. Remember Betsy who needed a double lung transplant? She received her new lungs in April of 2012. She and her hubby are here at the Rally and she is doing so well. However, one interesting glitch. We went out to dinner with them and 2 other couples 2 nights ago and she ate one small mushroom. Only one because she'd gotten sick a while back after eating muchrooms. And she woke up sick at 2am and vomited all night long from that one tiny mushroom. I've heard that when you receive a transplant, you sometimes take on characteristics of the donor and they think that her donor was allergic to mushrooms! So now they are definitely off her list! But otherwise she is doing beautifully!
Now I have another friend, Suzanne, (a local quilter at home) who is in desperate need of a lung transplant!

Teresa, congrats on becoming a grandma.. you'll love it...
Lois.. how nice to have a fun day, enjoy your errands.
Sharna... hope you enjoy the part of the quilt run you can go to.. the one here is called March Madness and spans way too far for me to attend all the shops too.
Suzette, how do you really like going back to work.. is it fun? glad the crib bumper pad police will be out in force.. my goodness, what next...
Scrapqulter.. enjoy your magazine...
Maryz.. yep, the shopping has begun.. I am not a sleep on the ground even with an air mattress type of gal... so this just may be my thing...
well, it appears that I am finally done typing.. need to go get gas.. and get to work.. you all have a supberb day...
Chriss

Re: Friday, June 21, 2013
Good morning Girls
Happy Friday to you all! It feels like Monday to me, as I had yesterday off and work all weekend. Don't mind working the weekends, because at least I don't have to answer the *$##(%& phone all weekend! Got a lot done yesterday.. worked in the yard until it got too hot, cleaned up and went shopping, picked up new shoes and 3 pr of pants (ON SALE!!) and ran up to Joann looking for more of the WOW I need, didn't find any, but got some Christmas fabric, then got groceries. Came home and found that I have some of that WOW already cut into 5" squares, so at least I have enough to make the blocks for the project I'm doing. I'm making Churn dash blocks, then going to set them on point for a whole different look. Will photo/post later.
Teresa... CONGRATULATION GRAMMA!!! Many prayers for Jen and Darby. Is this your first Grandbaby? Has she had an ultrasound yet? There are 2 gals at work pregnant and I just found out another one of our pharmacists is pregnant with twins--tho I'm sworn to secrecy!
Chriss... love the Camper! I sure have no idea about the bats in the camper, except that we were parked in a pretty woodsy area. I don't remember seeing them myself, but Shawn did. I better go check out the "calendar swap" Who is hosting? You? I just might have to think about that one.. I did April the last time we did one. Maybe I'll do December...I'll just make more Dresdens!
Maryz... I sure will be praying for Judi today! I worked on my Christmas blocks yesterday too for a bit, but they are just not coming together very well, can't seem to get them laid out color-wise the way I want. So I put them away for a bit and I'll come back to them later.
Suzette... interesting that they made a law about bumper pads! Hope your DH enjoys his massage. I've had one once, and Jen keeps telling me I need to get one, but I never get around to it. Sure know that feeling of work cutting into sewing time.
Lois.... hope you can get your errands done fast and get to sewing!
Time for me to fly...
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Re: Friday, June 21, 2013
Good morning!
Teresa - CONGRATS! That is wonderful news.
MissSharna - nice to see you.
Lois - happy sewing to you - hope your errands are quick.
Suzette - you and Lois have fun sewing. Hope your husband feels much better after is massage. I wonder what Maryland would do if you made crib bumpers....?
Scrappy - good luck with the job - hope it warms up there for you and the kitty.
Maryz - you sew, girl! I'm pushing some of our hot, dry weather your way. I'm thrilled to hear Betsy is doing so well. How interesting about the mushrooms! Prayers being said for Suzanna.
Chriss - I'm so glad your help is back at work. My aunt makes a cuke salad - Vadalia onions on the bottom, then sliced cukes, topped with sliced tomatoes from the garden and then crushed garlic and basil on top of that. YUM. LOVE the camper - hope y'all get it.
Today, guess what? MORE uglies. We're getting ready to make a run to the landfill, so we're going through the entire house, inside and out, to get ready. Did I mention we're having a huge gathering of family for our 25th anniversary? We're taking all the kids/grandkids plus our sisters/bros out to dinner, followed by a BBQ the next day for everyone else. Next week is our last free week before we head for Ohio, bring back the two granddaughters (9 and 7). Their parents will head out here a couple days after we leave. Then it's all compay, all the time.
Sorry the Spurs lost - that's who we were rooting for. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Re: Friday, June 21, 2013
Teresa - congrats on your almost-a-grandma status. My DD wanted a baby girl but she had 3 boys before she ever got her girl.
Misssharna - I hear you on that running thing - LOL.
Lois - enjoy your day off and your time in your sewing room.
Suz - let me know how your DH likes the massage. Well, I know he'll like it - I want to know if it helps the arthritis. Yes, working really does cut down on the sewing time.
Scrap - what do you mean 'smelling coffee in your head but unable to drink it"?
Maryz - I heard that the upper NW is the coolest place in the country today. And just in time for your rally, too. I saw the picture of you and another couple sitting outside and you all looked like you were freezing. That's so weird about the mushroom thing.
Chriss - if you put a fake Owl in the plum tree, will it scare off the birds? I'll go look at that pop-up when I finish here. I'm so excited 'we're' going to look at it this weekend - LOL.
Last night I walked in the door from work and my DH was cooking dinner. After I fainted and fell over I went to my sewing hole and pressed the binding and got it sewn onto the charity quilt for my guild. I wanted it for TV work. My DGS and I had a date to watch the Heat and Spurs game. We were SO disappointed but the Spurs deserved to lose - they played such frantic, sloppy basketball.
Prayers going up a lot for Judi this morning.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Maryq - I feel the same way about answering the phone. Mine has gotten much less since all of our guys have company cell phones. People just call them directly. It's wonderful. Wow, all that shopping. Your ship must have come in.
Sharona - thanks for helping us root for the Spurs.

Chriss - the pop-up looks great. I don't know where you'll go in it or what the temps will be but you might want to ask about roof A/C if you will be going somewhere hot. Back when we got our in 1986 some of the units' roofs couldn't support a roof A/C so that is something to consider. I can't wait - I hope you get it. And then you will get to make two quilts for it - WOO HOO.

Good Morning All.....The temp is rising already! We are suppose to get to 97 or 98 today, must get dressed and run to the store before it gets to hot.
Congrats Teresa, keep them in my prayers! it's fun to be a grandma!
Cindyg...I had 5 boys before I got my girl! She was my last try! Glad I didn't call it quits sooner. :>)
Going to have to take a look at the Pop Up saw one years ago but I am sure they have improved.
Judi remains in my prayers and her family.
Suzette hope the massage help your DH I like them and they do help.
This is short got to get going before it gets any hotter I don't do well in the heat!
Everyone have a great day!
Has anyone been to a AQS show? They are having one in Des Monies,Iowa in Oct. I understand some of the gals here in town want DD & I to go with them on a bus like retreat thing to there. Don't really know what to expect.
