Good Morning!
DEB - hi. May work be gentle today!
SUZ - You know, I don't really know what a tube quilt is. But if you're sewing it, it will be beautiful, I know!
VICKY - sounds like you have a whole bloomin' bouquet!
CHICKIE - hope you find that bougainvillia. I love it but it's too cool and damp here for it! The bridge isn't close to me, but I am having lunch tomorrow with some former co-workers and one of them now lives up near there so she may not show up!
JANA - yes, the bridge collapse is a BIG story in WA. It's about 100 miles north of me. Our friends that stayed with us in the RV and just left 9 days ago? They were in that area for a week before going into Canada on Wed. and crossed the bridge a few times while sight-seeing. Scary.
SHARONA - are you re-doing your yard or do you just have a really bad case of spring-planting fever? lol! Beauty Bark is big here for yards but I like the dark mulch, too. Doesn't smell very good for a day or two but looks more natural and is better for plants.
JOAN - oh dear! prayers for your son! Who old is he? So did the last wedding dress fit? By the way - when is that wedding?
KATHY - don't you love it when some unknown person in an office some place makes a health evaluation like that! I really hate where we're going with health care.
JULES - so good to see you! I slept late this morning, too. Stayed up late watching the news of the bridge collapse, I guess. Maybe when you get out to your studio, you will start to abosrb the energy from all your beautiful fabric! Even if you just go have coffee with it!
SHERRY - I love to X-stitch, too. I have a large vintage Christmas tree going on right now, but set it aside to do embroidered redwork - vintage Santas - for my DD#1 for her Christmas quilt. I've developed hand eczema the last few years and handwork of any kind really inflames my hands, so I have to be careful how much I do. ;o(
Cindy was having internet problems yesterday and missed getting onto the forum. She asked me to tell you all hi. But she and Sue should be camping by now at her beloved Lake Somerville.
I'll be doing the Maytag Mambo today. And trying out my poinsettia blocks for DD#2's Xmas quilt. And DH and I will fine tune our camping plans for next week.
Snickers is still doing OK. Some days he's kind of tired, but still loves his 2-mile morning walk. Still eating, though not quite as much, and is pickier. His blood work he had drawn on Monday all looks very good. For a 13-1/2 yr old sheltie with bladder cancer he's doing remarkable well.
Well, I want to go turn on the news and see how if there's any more news on the bridge collapse.
Enjoy your weekend! And remember not to drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.

Re: Good Friday Morning
Good morning....
today is the start of my long weekend... Jerry is playing "stare him till he's scared and runs away" with a wild turkey who wants to eat the cat food... he doesn't realize that turkey's fly and they have big poop... I believe birds get even by pooping.
Karlene, the wisteria is beautiful..if you need a certain brown fabric you probably have to go get it before it's all gone..if you need any old brown fabric starting a new project would work well...
O'Dorothy, nice that you had a quiet day with Jim doing Bingo... glad you are moving right along and healing nicely.. Marilyn is doing pretty good with her restrictions.. amazing that without electronics she is playing with toys more... her arguing has almost stopped.. I don't think she realizes she argues, she just wants what she wants... tomorrow will be a real test, she wants a dress....and we have such different ideas...lol... doesn't wisteria grow at your house?
Chickie... thanks for the mom pictures, she's adorable.. and your garden is beautiful.
and again I am out of time.. Marilyn and I are both playing hooky today.. we will shop for a dress after breakfast... hope you all have a super day,
Chriss

Chriss - have a fun hooky day!
Maryz - good to hear the update on Snickers.
Miriam - love the pictures of your mom and her quilts!
I found my plain brown fabric at Walmart in the pre-packaged fat quarters so I was able to finish sewing those blocks after all - yeah!

Re: Good Friday Morning
Quick update...son is done with surgery, now the healing begins.
Update on the wedding dress: the wedding is on June 15th, on the beach near my house. At this time I 'm not sure if she will be wearing the dress or not. I told her that I needed to know by Wednesday , so we'll see.

Re: Good Friday Morning
Good afternoon all,
I am having a lovely, long weekend! No work today and no work on Monday.......of course, I celebrated by staying up until almost 3 a.m. this morning. And then, of course, I slept in until around 10 a.m. I guess I will always be a night owl! I was sort of hoping I would outgrow it, but it just doesn't seem to be happening.
Scary business about that bridge collapsing. Can you imagine how terrifying that would have been! I am just relieved that no one lost their life.
Looks to be a soggy weekend here in the Great PNW. Oh well, maybe I can get some long overdue sewing done.
Well, now that it is almost noon here, I should probably get dressed and head to town. Need to run to the Post Office and mail a package off to Mom. Daddy is still in the hospital but may come home tomorrow. Not sure how long he is going to last, but miracles happen every day. Would appreciate it if you would keep him in your prayers.
Maryq, prayers for safe travels for you tomorrow. I know you will hate to leave you DD and that new DGS.
Joan, glad to hear your DS's surgery went well and that he is recovering. Prayers for a total and quick recovery.
Kathy, prayers continue for Kim's recovery.
Irish, prayers continue for your recovery as well.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and a fabulous weekend.
Hugs and prayers for all my quilty friends,
Mel
