MaryZ - when we had my niece's baby shower before Lily was born, I put on the label Baby Duffer. Using the baby's last name. Actually she came up with that idea.
I have finished quilting the baby quilt I am making. I came inside to put a chicken in the crockpot for dinner. What ever we have left over I will shred and add bar b que sauce for hubby's lunch tomorrow. Have a great day.

Baby Caleb was born in the 2 o'clock hour this morning, and he needs your prayers! I don't completely understand what's going on with him, but his heart rate dropped consistently during contractions all evening. Finally, around 1:30 it crashed during a contraction and the doctor decided he needed to be out immediately! DGIL was able to push him right out even though she wasn't yet fully dilated (otherwise they were going to do a c-section). I don't have any Apgar information yet, but he latched on and nursed a little. It was when he was taken away for the clean-up process that his condition was noted and he was sent to NICU. All I know at this point is that he has blood oxygen and blood sugar issues and he is dehydrated. He is on IV fluids and they gave him some formula. DS has asked that everyone stay away from the hospital and let them deal with this crisis on their own. So here I wait.

Good morning!
Just my usual Sunday routine around here - getting ready for Church and putting the final touches on my lesson for today.
Went on a shopping spree yesterday - no we didn't win the lottery - someone hasn't bought me the winning ticket yet! LOL Our old, very old laser printer finally bit the dust - it was pushing 25 years old and so Michael went and got another - I think that we got our money's worth out of the old one! Then off to Costco to re-stock and found some beautiful lilies too - the problem was we had the car and not a lot of space in the trunk printer was there - so we just loaded around it and the backseat - stopped and got Stu to help unload and put away - whew - glad that it is done!
The funny from the shopping trip was that our Costco is now carrying my favorite hot dog from California - Casper's!! Oh Joy!!! So of course I bought several packages and then called my kids - they wanted several packages and then I let my niece know - she went and got half a Costco cart full!! - They were for the other side of the family - while she was still in the store buying them - she took a picture and posted it on Facebook - can you tell we love these!!! LOL
Well need to scoot - time is slipping fast -
Hugs to all

Re: Sunday 19 May
Good Sunday morning! I was up in the middle of the night unplugging my computer and hoping the lightning didn’t strike close and damage anything else. I think I heard a pebble or two or hail, but mostly it was (thankfully) rain—hard, but rain. I looked out, and my flowers look a little bedraggled, but survived. I have laundry going now and will dry it inside. We still have more chances for storms for a couple of days.
Jules—so sorry to hear you are feeling punk. Lady Evans/Carol had a good suggestion about re-checking your meds and interactions with each other. That was always my job with my late DH and with my MIL. It’s so hard to find the right balance for your system! HUGS!!! I have no doubt Charley will graduate!!! She is a sharp gal—so glad she got the job near you!!! Happy Birthday to her!!! You can always come here and unload on us—we understand and will do our best to cheer you out of your funk!!!
Jodie—prayers for little Caleb!!! Being born is not easy!!! Hope you get some good news quickly when he gets hydrated and oxygen!
Suzette—You got that quilt finished in a hurry!!! I was just starting to read, and it’s done!!! We had fog one day this week. It’s like a big hug from Mother Nature.
Carol/Lady Evans—so wonderful to hear you were able to get off the meds with the wonderful support group you have and doctor! A lot of time the doctors receive samples from the drug reps and they are told it’s the best thing to happen, but the doctors don’t always read the literature with the cautions. Welcome to the Sew In!!! Bring a cup of tea and stop in often!!!
Becca—it’s good to see you here, today, too!!! Come back, come back!!!
Velda—I look forward to seeing your beaded bracelet!!! You have a lucky DGD!!!
MaryZ—Oh, Pam Bono designs have LOTS of little pieces!!! My DD’s bird placemats from a couple of Christmases ago were Pam Bono designs. You are a glutton… a feathered star medallion, too, AND Pam Bono… WOW!!! What about a simple “Made with lots of love just for you!” for the label?
Sharona—I often wonder how much it would take to place an order directly from a fabric company at wholesale??? I’d love to have my own shop with my friends and me as my only customers! Guess I need to buy a ticket…
Kathy—I’m so thrilled that I found a SIL across the road from me to share quilting and flower gardening. I feel like I’ve received a special gift this year!!!
Jana--What kind of printer did you purchase? I have a B&W Brother Laser Jet that I really like, but I’m thinking of a color Laser Jet… for quilts! You can ALWAYS find room for flowers!!! That’s funny about the hot dogs! I have my sister get things for me when she goes out of town that I can’t get here.
I think I heard the washer shut off—time for the next load… I need to make myself presentable for the day, too, and find more coffee… quick!
Have a blessed Sunday!

Morning Pals from the cabin in the woods. Good to hear from all of you today, especially J & J.
Here is an update on xteacher. She had her knee replacement on Monday. Went to her daughter's house Thursday. She is going out everyday to therapy. Using a platform walker to get to the bathroom. Will probably be at her daughter's for another six weeks. Her Internet there is that she can see everything but has problems posting.
Chickie--What kind of Lantana did you buy for Kansas? You can keep the storms we don't need them
Pam Bono designs--they are really pretty. I have two patterns. Have looked at them for a couple of years. Decided I wasn't quite up to them yet.
DH is mowing today. I will have to trim later. Neighbor found a copperhead in the road yesterday so we are all on alert. I may not be going outside again until it snows. I will be sewing something today after 1 more cup of coffee.

Another Baby Caleb update: All of his numbers are where they should be now. He is resting in NICU, and they are giving him this day to "regroup" and not planning to feed him until tomorrow. Things are looking better, but he will be in NICU for 3-4 days.

SharonS--Lantanas here are annuals. I usually put them in a pot--just love the little "bouquets" like the verbenas. I kept a couple of lantanas over in the sunroom last winter. They got pretty "leggy"--I should have trimmed them. When I was in Washington, DC, ages ago, they had lantana trees!!! They were small specimin trees about 5 or 6' tall. I wondered if they were kept in the greenhouse over the winter and replanted on the mall in the summer.
Jodie--wonderful news!!!

Good Morning Girls
Just a quick hello from Alaska. Oh what a beautiful day it is here after a couple cloudy rainy, snowy days! Am having a wonderful time snuggling with my baby. He's doing really well and just got his first bath this morning. Of course he's not happy about it.
Only have found 1 quilt shop so far, but this week we may be able toc check out one or two more. Hae been sewing a little bit, but mostly just hanging out with the baby and Kaya.
I'll have to catch up with all of you when I get home, but in the meantime just wanted to say HI and let you know that I think about y'all all the time!

Re: Sunday 19 May
we will see if I can post today. I did set up a new account and I think it is working, but the original one will not. Maybe when I get back home to the desktop, maybe not. Right now, drugs are my best friend. They are keeping the pain tolerable, but I sleep and then I sleep and then I sleep some more. Woke at about 6 and really needed something. The slave driver made me walk from her living room, down the drive way to the street and back. I think I did pretty good. I wasn't walking quite as good, but she said because she didn't "make" me do anything yesterday. Well, after six hrs on that machine and doing my little exercises three times a day, there is not much time left.

Karon--so glad to hear you are doing well! My friend had both of her knees done (a year apart), and she was faithful to do all of the therapy. She was a home health aide (before retirement), and she went back to work with full range of motion and strength after each surgery. She plays golf, and you would never know she had surgery several years ago. BEST wishes to you!!!
MaryQ--so happy to hear from you!!! Snow--can't imagine it now! We are having a thunder shower now and expect storms later tonight. Have fun at the LQSs!
DH and I were out on the ATV earlier--dragging some limbs that were blown out of the tree in the front yard to where he is burning. It took us forever to find our cows. They were hiding down in the timber--all except one white cow that was up close here. That poor "girl"!!! Her udder is full to the point of looking like an explosion. She has been walking all over the farm; she actually walked all the way down to the timber then back here again. I think she is in labor and we will have a calf... no doubt during the worst of the thunderstorm tonight! Sure hope she doesn't have trouble, but I'm sure she has been a mama before and isn't a first-time heifer.
