Re: Friday May 17,2013
Good morning, good morning,
My SIL found out last week that he is graduating with his BS this week and with such short notice neither Victoria or his mother are able to get time off to go to the ceremony so I am going to be 'Team Rich' and record it for those who can't be there. The only problem is there are 2 ceremonies and I'm not sure which one he gets his diploma at. There is an institute wide ceremony today where the president will 'confer' 3500 degrees, but then each college has their own ceremony where it says each graduate is presented their diploma; and his school's would be tomorrow. So, I may end up at both ceremonies in order to capture his walk across the stage!

Just a quick run through this morning to see what's going on with everyone. I'm at work and being slammed. It's wonderful to feel no needed...NOT!!
Last night I began putting the tote together. Maybe I'll get it finished tonight.
I hope you can all fondle fabric today.

Hello to All.....
Just have a moment....son/wife will be here around 3pm so have a few uglies that need to get done. I will forsake sewing until tomorrow as they will be going to see her family tomorrow, wished they could stay longer but am thankful I get to see them even for a short period.
We are suppose to be getting bad weather on Sun. so the kids want to get headed back a little early. This weather is something else.
Have a great day!

Good morning!
Well, the calm before the storm has hit - it has been too quiet around here. Sarah's DH was laid off yesterday - so that put her plans to be a stay at home mom on hold - again - one bright side to it, was that it happened before Sarah gave her notice. And then a phone call from Michael's other sister - seems as if money is disappearing into the other two sibling's personal accounts and so far, can't be accounted for the use of that money - nearly $70,000!!! Neither one of the other siblings will return phone calls or e-mails - uggh - what to do!!!
Our friend, who does iron railings, came by yesterday and did the measuring for a railing on the stairs on my front porch and the back wall to keep the little ones from falling over the edge of the Great Wall of Herriman when they are playing in the backyard. My DS3 has time available to come back from California to do the landscaping tractor work - leveling and hauling back yards and yards and yards of topsoil for the lawn. We just have to pay his way here and rent the equipment for him. Nice on two parts - having him here and the backyard done!
Uglies are caught up for the week-end - so it is play time for me - YEAH -- I need that. Ethan will be here in few minutes too.
Stu, got straight A's for this semester and in the Fall will be taking AP classes at the Community College here - he will get credit for college and high school at the same time. In the Fall, he will be a junior - so will have a good start on a college career. We found out that MIT, Harvard, and Yale all have programs that if you are accepted to their universities, they waive the tuition if your parents make less than 50,00 a year! His now qualify - lol- so he is going to apply, but will go to school here in the state.
Well it is time to feed the hungry people at this house -
Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Re: Friday May 17,2013
Good morning from Foggy Bottoms! I love it—reminds me of San Francisco… I’m sure it will be burned off by Mr. Sun in an hour or so, but while it is here, I will enjoy! The humming birds seem to be sleeping in this morning with the low light; there are only a few at the feeders so far…
Last evening just before dusk, DH and Tinker Bell were in the timber working on the quail project. I fixed a cup of coffee, and Odie and I went out on the deck to sit and enjoy the evening. I had at least three dozen humming birds buzzing and bombing around the feeders, us, and the brush by the pond. It was one of those amazing, awesome times… to sit quietly, sip coffee and savor watching the little jewels flitting about. The sun would catch the ruby throat feathers, and they were spectacular! They sucked one feeder completely dry while I was sitting there. I have three feeders on the deck, and definitely not enough feeding ports for the hordes of thirsty little hummers! I will be putting out more!!! The more feeders I put out, the more birds I have… If you build it, they will come!!!
Tina—come on over!!! Give me a bit of a heads up so I can bake a cake or cookies and be home! You are always welcome!!!
Lois—I felt your breeze as you rushed through… Did you find the coffee?
Pat—enjoy your family!!! I saw the forecast. Hope we don’t get hail and high winds! The wheat here is looking GOOD, so all the guys are hoping for good weather and a great harvest!
Sharona—have a great time with the grands!!!
Cindy—careful with all that slamming!!! Don’t let it inundate you or injure your blinging hand!!!
Karlene—congratulations to your SIL!!! How neat that you can be there for Team Rich—so sorry Victoria and his mom are unable to be there! That’s a rip!!!
Vicky—Hope your MIL is doing well and is pleasant!!! I’m sure she has no idea what a jewel she has in you!!! Food shopping is never my idea of fun unless it is in a new market or in Chinatown! You are amazing with Kim’s quilt!!! Careful with your back!!!
Judi—what a sweet story of Liam!!! I miss having grandbabies that age and WANTING to stay here!!! Enjoy and give him a special smooch from me!!! Have fun with Annabelle!
Chriss—our seasons change daily! I don’t remember the temperature swings like this… I’ll try to get some photos when things start blooming good. I have a lot of bulbs and lilies planted…
MaryZ—I’m always up for a celebration of any kind!!! Skol! (Is that even close to the right language? Who cares if you’re raising a glass, right!) I’ve got to get to the photos!!! Do you need any design helps—remember how I get you in trouble???
Velda—Have a great day today! I have been putting the quilter on my quilt labels along with her city/state. I’m missing Jacquie and Jules, too…
You-hoo, Girls… where are you Jacquie and Jules???
Kathy—I love sitting on the porch in a rocker or a swing! We have an old glider and some old metal chairs that rock—when I’m on the porch, I’m home!!!
Chrissy—give Mo a hug and big congratulations! Have a safe and fun trip, too!!! You sure have a busy life!!!
Suzette—that is so sad about your DH’s niece! Medicine allergies can be so dangerous… I do include on my label the quilter. I know you need to do it on the entry form, but I don’t think it’s required on the label. Good luck to you!!!
Yesterday I went to town with DH and we mowed and trimmed and cut down some branches and vines at one of the rentals. His mower quit, so I got to quit with my work, too… Then we went to the nursery to pick out my tree! I knew instantly why the kids chose a gift certificate… way too much to pick from!!! I finally settled on a Granny Smith apple tree—the gift that will keep on giving for many years… I’ll thank them properly with a pie next year!!! DH is going to plant it today. He is not much of a shopper, so last evening Debby was in her yard and I stopped by and told her about the nursery—she hadn’t ever been there—and that they had the lime green sweet potato vines she was wanting… WE are going there this afternoon!!! I was going to pick her up a couple pots of vines yesterday, but then I thought… “Debby would like to go…” and so we are!!!
You All have a super day!!!

Good morning everyone,
TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SO glad it is Friday. I would SO love to win the lottery, if, for nothing else, it would mean no more getting up at the butt-crack of dawn to drive 50 minutes or so just to sit inside a dark warehouse office all day and then drive 50 minutes or so to get back home and just collapse on the loveseat! Boy, do I sound pitiful, or what. I AM thankful to have a job, though. LOL
Suz, sorry to hear about your DH's niece. Will keep her in my prayers.
Chrissy1, sounds like Mo will have a big turn-out for his graduation.
Kathy, I love rocking chairs on the front porch. I did a little porch-sitting myself yesterday evening.
Velda, hi! I miss J & J, too.
Maryz, your Alaskan Sampler is gorgeous. Tell DH to get busy....we want to see the finished quilts!
Chriss, have fun at work...hope the day speeds by. Hope Marilyn has a great sleep-over!
Judi, you make me want to get my Andie loaded up with a quilt. Maybe I'll find some time this weekend to at least make it up to my sewing room. I have two swaps I am working on, well, I guess I should say NOT working on! LOL I really need to get those done and then, I swear, I will not start another project until I get one quilt top quilted!!!!!!
Vicky, I hope your back feels better soon. Kim's quilt is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to see it finished.
Karlene, good luck with the ceremonies! It is good that you will be able to attend and film it for his mom and Victoria.
Cindyg, sounds like your workday will fly by. Hope you get a chance to breathe! LOL
Sharona, Hi! Happy GrandKid day! Hope you all have a blast.
Scrappy Pat, hope you have a wonderful visit with your son and DIL.
Jana, sorry to hear about your SIL getting laid off. What a blessing that Sarah is still employed, though! Wow, Stu sounds like he is off to a great start! Congrats to him for a job well done!
Chickie, you paint such beautiful pictures with your words. I hope you and Debby have a wonderful trip to the nursery.
Well, guess I better get back to work. I was late this morning and things are piling up. I'll try to check back later.
Hugs,
Mel

Hi!!!
I'm done for the day...no more hard work. The dirt here is full of rocks, some of them up to 7". I'm used to sand/dirt. Every thing is in. My hands & shoulders are sore. Tomorrow I'll start the last rocking chair. Now I'll start CUTTING MY BOM up. I have April & May to do.
Velda....I try to sit on my rockers every day even if it's just for a cup of tea. I was thinking of Jules & Jacquie....I hope their too busy sewing.
Maryz....I must check out your quilt...be right back.....lovely as usual. I like the idea of keeping it in your 2ed home. I planted 2 rhubarb. 2 tomatos, 2 basils, 1 rosemary, parsley, 2 lilac, 3raspberry and a few flowers near the pile of boulders.
Chriss...have a fun sleep over!! Don't keep the girls up too late!!
Judi.....happy quilting...
Vicky....1 mile is 1 mile...it all counts! Go girl.
Sandy.....when my DD2 graduated we went to 2 ceremonies. She got her diploma at the 1st one in the school's chapel & the whole school in the gym the next day. Good thing you can go.
BBL......Kathy
