Good morning, good morning!

Maryq - have a wonderful flight and a delightful visit!

Sharona - That would be so hard to have 3 little boys and be battling cancer.

Velda - I'm so sorry for all you and your family are going through.

Chriss - the squirrels were here outside the church office. I've tried to convince the pastor that we really need a church cat, but he's not going for it!

We had rain yesterday and again today. I went out to the thrift stores yesterday afternoon and found a Noah's ark fabric panel that makes the ark into a pillow with pockets and animals that can go into the pockets. My mom made one for my girls when they were little and now I'm going to make one for my grandbaby! I also found some felt ornaments with Beatrix Potter figures machine embroidered on them. Do you know if felt would hold up to machine washing? If it would, I want to deconstruct the ornaments and just use the embroidered figures as appliques.

I'm going on a search after work to see if I can find some candied or crystallized ginger for Victoria.

Have a wonderful day,
Karlene

Stopping in again. Sometimes I just can't shut up! lol!

Please stop into chit-chat. We lost one of our own - Lawanna. Her husband left us a post to let us know. She was a frequent poster over in the Supper Club thread.

MARY Q - fly safe! If you get stuck in Seattle, call us!! The more the merrier here!

CHRISS - did gramma get home from the hospital? Now, I forget - I know she lives next to you, but does she live alone? Does she need someone there with her for a while?

SHARONA - what kind/color of quilt are you making? What a comfort you must be to this young lady. When I get into a purging mode around here it can go on for 2 weeks! Nothing is safe! DH locks me out of his shop!

CINDY - you got a lot of sewing done in one evening after a work day! More than I ever did when I was working. Do you have any applique to work on during TV?

I forgot to let you know - Jim made it home before lunch yesterday. He called me as they were leaving the hospital. I imagine he was a little giddy being in their car - riding away from that horrible month he's just spent! We stopped by briefly to drop off dinner for them, and Terry was so grateful. I probably could have taken a sawdust loaf and they would have loved it if they didn't have to cook it themselves! It was so good to see him in his usual place at home, smiling and talking. He's still wobbly and in considerable pain, but full recovery will take time.

Terry's sister, very mentally challenged all her life, is dying of pancreatic cancer and their is a big family gathering for her this weekend about 2 hours away. Jim is going, but they will take their motor-home so he can retreat and relax and continue to recuperate. I hope he does OK.

Good morning :o)
Today Duncan and Bailey go to the groomer to get all clean and groomed for their nuetering tomorrow. Shhhhh don't tell them. Bailey will be staying with us till he is all healed because we have grass here and DD just has very powderie dirt at her house. DH will be sharing his lap at tv time in the evenings ;o)
While they are at the groomers DH and I will be going over to DD's old house and cleaning, the land lady said it wasn't clean enough for DD to get ger $500 deposit back....it was very clean last time I was there but she gave me a list of very specific things so we're going to go check it out.
DH will be taking some time off between now and mid June, he has 2 weeks he needs to use or lose, I'd rather him use them :o)
Not much else happening around here.
Maryq, have a safe flight and enjoy your new grandson :o)
Suzette, yep we'd rather spend time with our kids then anything else.
Velda, I agree with Cindyg.
Maryz, hope you get a you day too so you can sew :o)
Chriss, LOL yep we have "dry" heat too. Sure could use some rain here!
Sharona, I need to dejunk too....maybe someday LOL that's my least fav thing to do.
Lois, hope you get in to some fun trouble ;o)
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.
Tina

Good morning!

It is sunny and beautiful here - just wait 5 minutes and we will have thunder and lightning! Then we are are to warm up!

Chriss - you don't have dry heat! I have dry heat! Sure know the difference now that I live here in Utah! LOL

Don't know what the day will hold for me - Ethan will be here and it is uglies day. Many are already done - so it won't be too bad.

Sarah is moving her office this week-end - from down in the basement floor of her building to across the patio and up to the first floor of the adjoining building. Aaron will help her, as well as Stu and her DH - just have cubicles to move and re-set up. Guess that little one will be with me -

Velda - sometimes a person hangs on because they feel someone they love dearly can't handle their death. I have found that when they learn everyone is ready - as they can ever be - they slip away peacefully. You can share here - we are your friends!

Well must scoot off -
Hugs
Jana

Good morning from the Little House by the Pond… We had thunderstorms in the night, and it’s clouding up again. I’m hoping to make trillium blocks today! I am not complaining about the rain—it was so dry last year that if we can stockpile water it’s all for the best! The pastures sure are spongy.

Chriss—they were bass, and so delicious last night with the morels and a huge salad!!!

I am so sorry to hear of all the challenges with illness and dying. It is as if the caregivers and survivors put their lives in limbo; I have been there and can empathize with you...

Velda—I know how you all feel… Many years ago when our dad was dying, my sisters and I made the trip from the Mid West to California to see him. We could afford one trip but not two. We decided to go while he was living; we were unable to go to his funeral a few weeks later. I’m sure his wife didn’t understand, but he got to see his grandson for the first time. Personally, I think your family should keep the West Point tickets and plan to attend… I think MaryZ said it well. Hugs to you and your family at this time…

MaryQ—know you are going to have a blast!!! Give baby smooches from all of us!!!

MaryZ—alone time can be a wonderful thing! Enjoy your day whatever it turns out to be!!!

Kathy—that’s funny about the “dry heat”! Come to Kansas when it’s 107 and experience the “wet heat”—the “dry heat” will feel like the ice cream stand!!!

Sorry I’m in and out again… have some things to get accomplished here. It’s so still on the pond now, earlier we could see jet trails reflected on the surface. Now the clouds have rolled in, and it looks like a batik fabric of grays and greens with the trees around the edges blending into the muted print…

A funny for the day: On a list of news stories was one about 10 foods you should never eat - one of the items was bacon. A little further down was a story of a 105 year old woman's secret - she eats bacon every day!

So this is where everyone hangs out! Thought you could hide from me! lol
It's a sort of sunny day here in OH but still chilly. Today is laundry day to get ready to go to NY for the weekend. We plan to leave tomorrow after DH and DD get home from work. Saturday we'll visit my sister-in-law and nephews. That day is the one year anniversary of my oldest brother's death. It will be a very bittersweet day. We also hope to visit my parents. Sunday we'll go to a nice resturant with my in-laws for brunch and then come back to OH. Today...off to the sewing room!

We just had our excitement for the day - a rather large black bird of some sort just flew in the sliding door off my deck - couldn't find his way out - I screamed - Michael came running and opened the window and removed the screen from another window he kept trying to fly out off - off he went - but what a mess he left on my floors! LOL

Perry is now looking out that window, wondering why we let his lunch on the wing go! Furballs! LOL

Oh well, Ethan is going to have to learn to use the screen, not only to keep out the flies, but birds too!
