SHARONA - sorry for walking on your pretty head! so sorry to hear that your friend has thyroid cancer. So sweet of you to be making her a quilt! Did you know that in the off season, Brooke - Dancing with the Stars' co-host - also had thyroid cancer? I believe she had surgery for it between the seasons. Good luck to your fur-baby!

JOAN - you sure got THAT right! Jim scared it out of all of us!! I think his wife, Terry (a very quiet member of our forum who got me to join here!) has lost at least 10 pounds! She has barely left his side for the entire month. Oh. Weeds. I should do that, too. And the only way I can get it all done is to give myself a limit of time to finish it, too.

Good Morning.....

Looks like we're getting some much needed rain sometime today. I need to wash the out side kitchen window, I'll have to get out a ladder it's to high even inside for me to reach. It's a stat at home day waiting for the water purification man to come and bring the salt for the system.

Jules.....OMG!! I'm so happy for all of you. What a wonderful job for Charley.

Mell....have a wonderful day.

Lois....I hope you find all you need & have a little energy left for sewing...

Suzette....I missed what type of job you got. I'm happy you found one.

Mary/Roisebud....Mmmmm...I think your storm is heading my way. We are in need of some rain.

Maryq....Congratulations on a new sweet boy. Love the name Elijah.

Judi,,,,,happy quilting today.

Sharona....sorry to hear about you friend...will say prayers.

Joan...hope you get all that weeding done.

Maryz....I'm so happy for you & Jim. Sounds like a delicious home coming! I can't wait to see your quilt. I loved Alaska.

Well I must get going....

Love & Prayers

Good Morning all,
I have a quilt ready to go to the la. It's a "flub" quilt that I know is going to be lovely. It started out as a Country Lanes quilt. After sewing the first 2 rows together I decided I didn't like the print in the large block with the bg fabric. Of course the chains were chosen to go with the print and I sure didn't want to do them again. The bg fabric was a tone on tone so I used it in place of the prints, and the LA can show off the quilting on them. I am puzzled as to why everything matched up and it's still 12 inches shorter then it should be. The width is right on, it's just the length.

Keep Rickster in your prayers. His little sister is coming to the end of her battle with cancer and he said he would be offline for awhile.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Sandy

Good Morning Girls

ONE MORE SLEEP!! BOING BOING BOING!

Jules.... HUGE Congratulations to Charlie on her new job! I bet she is just ecstatic to have found a job right out of school. She'll have all summer to plan her classroom and get her supplies ready! What fun!

Judi... Oh my gosh.. she's never used the embroidery part? I'm afraid if I had an embroidery machine that's all I'd be doing...and I'd go broke buying thread in every color! How is flannel to work with for backing.. doesn't it wiggle a lot?

Maryz.... happy to hear that Jim is coming home... I bet he's so happy to finally be OUT of the hospital! With luck, I'll be able to call you tomorrow!

Suzette.... are you finding muscles you forgot you had at your new job? Meant to tell you that I LOVE your Jacob's Ladder... gosh it's so pretty!!!! I'm taking some charm squares of those colors along to AK, may sew if I ever put the baby down!

Sharon...lots of prayers for your friend.... yes, she will definitely need a quilt!

Oh darn, would love to stay and chat but time is getting away from me!! ONE MORE DAY OF WORK. Worked 10 hrs yesterday and I am SO ready for vacation! Must get out on time today, need to wash one more load of clothes to pack and stop on the way home to watch Brennen play soccer right down the street from me. Can't miss that!

Y'all have a GREAT day!

Jules - I'm so happy for Charlie. Her life is seems to be moving along without a hitch. That's wonderful.

Maryz - so glad Jim is home. What a relief for everyone.

Maryq - you are leaving tomorrow? Have a wonderful trip. I can't wait for you to hold that baby! Send us pix.

Suz - I hope you get use to your new physically-challenging job soon.

Sorry I can't greet everyone - much work to do. Oh, we had Karen Kay Buckley at our guild last night. OMG - her applique quilts are out of this world. I can only drool over hers as I'll never in this life be able to do a quilt like that. Gotta run.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning!

We too had thunder and lightning in valley last night - not much over us - just across the valley on the mountains - I do like it that way! The other day we went and bought some battery operated lanterns, just in case we lose power in one of these storms.

Not much going on here - Ethan has taken to being Grandpa's boy - again - wants to sit in his lap and push the buttons on his computer - it is a good thing that Michael backs up his work quite often, as it seems that Ethan can push the right sequence of buttons and wipe out a ton! LOL

Cindyg - good to see your home - was worried with all the flooding happening in Atlanta

Maryz - Jim-sit will be good for the both of you!

Jules - Congrats to Charley and you too - it is so nice to have family near!

Well need to scoot - laundry is calling - and my breakfast - chocolate croissants are ready too!

Hugs
Jana

Good morning... it's a beautiful rainy day.... I have a vacation day because today is my last quilt class, but... grandma came home last night and needs groceries..and I want to make sure things are right for her so I am not sure if I will go or not...it also seems that she won't need physical therapy.. she is getting up and moving around just fine.. she has a walker but hasn't even opened it up yet...

Judi, are you using a pattern for your mug rug applique or is it freehand.. they are just adorable.

Maryq.. this is it girl.. you're all packed and ready to go... bet you can't wait to get a hold of those grandkids.. and what fun to have grandma there for them... have a safe trip and don't forget your spoil the grandchildren book incase you need to read up....it's so great to be you.

Karlene.. I love Wisteria.. I love this weather too... it's so pretty when God washes the sky with some rain... everything looks fresh and clean.. even the cows in the field get a bath...

Kathy, a shepherds hook is a great idea... I would have never thought of it... window boxes will be beautiful and with the right flowers they will smell wonderful when you sit in your rocker.

Sharona, glad the ankle is feeling better... what a blessing...I love to clean out drawers and closets and such.. so many treasures to be found...you never know what you will find.

Maryz.. glad Jim gets to come home.. unless he holds the mirror just right he will never see any scars... he really has beaten the odds...huge blessing.

Vicky, I thought of you the other day.. my boss got a contraption that he can hang himself up side down on... he said his back pops into place when he is up side down.... it looks like a cot on a bar and you strap in and hang then right yourself and it's supposed to work.. he got it at big 5 sporting goods...

CArole, since the two of them are ugly people they are so right for eachother.... I bet if we pray about it we won't get this one... drat, it's what happens when you have a loving God instead of a "get even" God... lol but if I ever pass a wishing well, I will throw a penny in and make the wish...hugs...

Tina, waiting is hard... what's harder is when you expect the call and it doesn't happen... if you don't get the call you can call them... prayers that it's all good.. and hugs to you.

Jules, a huge congrats to Charley.. this was all her, she aced the interview, she wow'd them when she taught and it was Charley who awed them at lunch... she and she alone got that job.. through her hard work and personality... I'm proud of ther too....what an accomplishment... she must come from good parents.

I would love to stay longer but my day needs to get started.. you all have a super day,
Chriss

I'm back again. I think 2 squirrels were just 'frolicking', and the one that hit the window was trying to run down the side of the building like he would a tree.

Chriss - what great news that your grandma is doing so well and is coming home!

Sharona - so sorry to hear about your friend. What kind of a quilt are you going to make?

Maryz - yeah! Jim is coming home! What a praise that he is able to eat better - that will help him so much as he rebuilds his strength.

Tina - love the u/s pic!

Jules - what great news for Charlie (and you!)
