SHARONA - how is your DH doing? And your son? I think you defintely deserve a day in your sewing room!

CHRISS - glad you enjoyed the skating. Was it roller or ice? I sprained a wrist on one and broke the wrist on the other. I'm not a fan of skating of any kind! I didn't mail my blocks yet. I have to mail another package, too, and it's no where ready to go yet. In fact, I haven't even finished shopping for it yet. But soon . ..

Good Morning all, sounds like everyone is having a fun time...Except for poor Odie. Hope he feels better soon. I am really ready to go home....I don't like being away this long. Miss my honey. and my kitty. We will do more packing today. I have been really busy here,,,We will be ready for the movers on friday but there is so much to do . DD could not have done this without my help.

Ken called and he went to an NRA fundraiser dinner and auction last night, He was trying to get a Charlie Daniels Autographed fiddle but he said the price went up too much. He did manage to get a flag that was flown over the white house.. and a nice wooden case made my disabled veterans so he was happy we have been on the white house list for many many years, Since the 80s. They fly a new flag so many times a day and give the flags away....we now have one....so cool I think, and I missed a good dinner and fun evening, But that is the way it goes/ I really would have liked that fiddle too.

Well I am off and running,,,,Hope you all have a great day, XXXOOO

Good morning :o)
Chickie, poor Odie, give him a little pat for me.
Chriss, thank you :o) and I'm looking forward to hearing about the skating :o)
Mel, I'm hoping to sign Jaz up fpr swimming lessons this Summer, I did both my kids because me and DH don't know how to swim at all and didn't want our kids to be the same.....our DS thanks us for it because he loves swimming, our DD not so much LOL
Suzette, wow that's a long party for a 2 yr old, I would've left too.
Lois, your double doesn't sound very good at all.
Scrappypat, have fun quilting :o) my DS used to help me when he was home....I don't see him very much anymore :o(
Maryq, LOL I have to say yes that has happened to me before too hehehehe
Sharona, SNOW?! WOW! I'd sure like some rain :o) We keep having dirt storms :o(
Teresa, I hear every little noise too when DH is away, thank goodness that doesn't happen very often anymore :o)
Well I think I'll try to do a little sewing today, not sure how much my back will let me. My dr called me the other day, I think Friday and told me the results of my CT scan from the accident...my L4 is protruding over L5 and L5 is protruding over L6....guess that's why I'm in alot of pain. He wanted to send me to a back specialist but I asked him if we had to right now and he said we could wait 2 weeks and he gave me stretching exercises to do to see if it'll help.....I just can't deal with going to a specialist while dealing with my other at this point in time.......just a little too much for me I guess.
Oh I've been keeping a secret but can tell you all now........I'm going to be a Grandma again :o) DD is expecting in November. They came and told us last month and Jaz had a shirt on that said she was going to be a big sister....she is so excited LOL she wants a baby brother she says LOL They are moving tomorrow to a 5 bedroom house maybe 4 miles from us (as the crow flies, maybe 2 miles) and they are going to rent it for 6 months till DD can get her credit score up enough to buy the house :o) she will have a $14000 increase in pay this next school year because she will be there from the start....she started 2+ months into this school year and they pro rated her salary. Jazmyne loves the idea of being closer to us plus being out of town again.....she's just not a city girl LOL
Well I talked you alls ears off and have probably stepped on some. Hi To you all too and everyone else today :o) You all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Good morning Dear Cotton Pals! Thank you all so much for your healing, caring thoughts for Odie!!! He is such a little trooper. He did well last night—on the bed scrunched up next to me (his usual spot). I finally got some sleep, as I certainly didn’t sleep Friday night when I was consumed with concern for him. This morning I gave him his pain and antibiotic pills wrapped in roasted turkey breast “packets” with a small chaser of plain to “help the medicine go down”. Then he had a walk about outside on his leash. I’m to keep him quiet for a few days and go back Tuesday for the drains to be removed. With all of you sending scritches, scratches, belly rubs and pats, he is well loved and taken care of!!! Thank you!!!

DH said it must have been barbed wire and hit a rock hard with his knee. If it was a trap, he wouldn’t have gotten away… I hate traps!!! So does DH! The only thing we use for skunks, etc., is a Hav-a-heart trap (live trap).

Mel—your soap making sounds like such fun, and the flavors… delightful!!! Too bad we don’t have scratch-‘n-sniff messages here!!! Can you take some hand sewing (hexies—grin!) to the swimming lessons with you to work on while you wait?

Suzette—my DD and family love Freddy’s. They have one where they live. My aunt used to take my sisters and I for a Sunday afternoon drive when we were kids, and if we were good she stopped at the Dairy Queen for nickel cones for us—what a treat!!! I think five-cent cones in the 50s were probably pretty big (like candy bars back then). Only dinner plates were smaller!!!

Lori—can your DH go to a chiropractor? They sure help my DH when his back goes out without him! I can’t imagine working a double shift… the most I did when I was MUCH younger was 15 hours right at tax time at the accountant’s office.

Pat—how cool that your grandson will quilt for you!!! Does he enter them in the fair? I don’t do the heat (or cold) any more, either. I remember the days of no AC… Of course, we had huge shade trees back then, too! They made a huge difference—houses weren’t insulated then, either! We were roughing it back then!!! LOL! Have fun today!!!

MaryQ—that happens to me every time I get near a fabric store!!! Snow!!! Yikes!!! That’s a 4-letter word this time of year!!! Yes, I love the mushrooms—I only eat morels and coral mushrooms (but I haven’t had any of them since I lived in Missouri). The mushrooms are really good with fried fish—just batter and cook the same way… I also chop them up in omelets for breakfast. I do like Brussels sprouts, too! My late DH hated almost all vegetables, but I had him eating a lot of new things if I disguised them with a light cheese or cream sauce… everything is better with gravy!!!

Velda—we are a little warmer here, so it may be working its way north to you! Hang in there—this is a strange April!

Sharona—have fun at JoAnn’s!!! Hope the snow goes directly to the water table for summer! I plan to go play on the LA this week! We do it when her DGS is in school. He is a very energetic, inquisitive little boy… We get more done when he is in school.

Chriss—I’m so delighted to hear that Marilyn is making friends and having so much fun!!! Tasha goes to school skates at least once a month. My late DH had a CPAP—his sleep test was discontinued in the middle when the realized he wasn’t breathing most of the night. The DGKs will eat about anything if they can dip it in ranch dressing—does Marilyn like dips?

MaryZ—I’m going to look for photos of your landscape quilt! The fairy quilt is so sweet and will look darling with fairy quilting! Have a great day!!! I hear you giggling about the fabric purchasing… we sure had fun at Edna, didn’t we!!!

Teresa—I’m looking forward to seeing photos of the quilts you are working on now! Scallops always throw me, too! My DSIL across the road and I rescued her late mother’s ancient LA from a garage and got it repaired and tuned up at the Gammill factory last week. It will take me a long time before my quilting looks anywhere close to as nice as yours!!! I’m really starting to like the CW fabrics and have none—a whole new range of fabrics to collect… Good luck to your DH with his test!

Tina—what a surprise! A new grandbaby for you, too!!! Sounds like your DD is doing well with her new position, too! And, Jazzie will be closer to you!!! So sorry to hear your back’s problems along with your other burden—hugs and prayers sent your way!!!

Judi—too bad your DH wasn’t able to get the fiddle; that would have been cool! I think my DD has a White House or Capitol flag. She got it when she was in 8th grade and competed in Washington for the National History Day. Home is always the best place to be; you’ve been away a long time, it seems! I know your DD really appreciates all your help!!!

I need to go finish putting myself together for the day. Odie is comfortable in the recliner in front of the TV that is “off”. It’s probably the pain med working. Maybe I can get to my sewing room… I’m working on some pinwheels made from 5” squares from El’s Ellie Ann collection. I just love the pretty pastel prints! This will be a very feminine quilt. I think I’ll do lots of white and have the pinwheels “floating” across the quilt. I see it in my mind—now to pull it off in fabric…

Happy Sunday to you, All! Thank you again for all your good wishes for Odie! Tinker Bell has also been a good nurse to him. She comes and checks his well being often—very concerned for her little buddy.

Good Sunday morning!

I am home today from Church - I got food poisoned at a restuarant we ate at on Friday with the kids and boy was I sick all day yesterday! Not going there again!

So I am doing much better today and can maybe do something useful.

Glad to hear that Odie is on the mend. And new grandbabies - what fun they are!

Well I don't have a lot of stamina today - so will find something quiet to do -

Hugs
Jana
