Good Morning Girls
The day I have been waiting for is finally here! SATURDAY! Now the question is... where do I start! Lots of little messes everywhere, toilets to scrub, floors to wash, carpet to vac, desk to clean, and I know there's a dining room table somewhere under a pile of papers. Think I'll wait a bit and get the coffee to kick in, then spin around in a circle and where ever I land.. that's where I'll start. If I get the upstairs done this morning I can play downstairs this afternoon.
Carole... I have some phone numbers from the SS swap, but I don't have Kathys. I sure hope things are looking up for Kim!! As for the JERK, somebody just don't handle losing very well I guess. I hope he's not harassing her and the kids. If he does, maybe she can get a restraining order? Hope you can get a nap in today, after being up al night to sew!
Chriss.. how fun for Marilyn to make so many good friends...My BFF and I have been friend since we were like 12 or 13.. Some friendships last a life time!
Maryz... You will show us pictures of your new wallpaper border won't you? In the 80's I had wallpaper in almost every room of the house... I love putting it up, but taking it down is a pain you-know-where! I love plaids too.. have a collection of some I'd like to make a quilt from... one of these days!
Velda,.... with a little bit of luck, I'll get to work on mh April blocks this weekend.. tho I have to finish pinning Kayla's quilt, then put the backing together and pin Baby boy quilt. I only have 3 weekends of sewing time left before I go to AK for that baby, so I better hurry up!
Jacquie... that little Phoebe is a DOLL! I bet she just warms your heart! Hard to say "no" to anything for the little chubby face! Your Cabin blocks look marvelous!
Lois... I hope you find some great deals at the Fabric Warehouse!! There's a place not too far from me, that's like a warehouse too. Fabric is all piles on big old shelves and you have to dig sometimes to find what you're looking for. And they let you cut your own lengths! All the fabric is 1/2 off what the price is on the bolt. Needless to say I have gone crazy there a few times!
Grammie....safe journey to MN. They predicted rain for today and I was all excited to see some of the dirty snow wash away... but they were wrong... again...
Sherry... Dresden Plate is one of my favorites.. not hard to do but puttsy..
Well girls the coffee is kicking in...
But before I go.... I have a question for all you retired folks. On April 23rd I have an appointment with my financial guy... to review my current financial stuff and see if I could maybe retire in November when I turn 62. SO....any of you that retired early---any advice for me? I would still have work, but I'm thinking I could at least not have to worry about making a lot per hour, just to have health insurance. I'm getting pretty fried from my job and would SO love to quit and do something less stressful.
Also, before I forget again. I'm going to post a topic under SWAPS for a "Name that Baby Boy" contest. Jen's due date is coming up fast and I'll post a contest for DAY and WEIGHT and name suggestions. Who ever comes closest will get a treat from me!
The uglies are calling....
See you later

Hello all. I've been reading up a little bit on what I've missed. I decided to jump in, though before I finish. Boy, no moss grows on this group! You've all been in my prayers every day all along, even though I've been out of touch. I see already that several of us are going through extreme challenges right now, and I've added all that I find for extra prayers.
CAROLE, I can't believe that JERK is already on the warpath again! I do hope this time the judge and lawyers will put a quick end to the harassment! Your personal sew-in sounds wonderful! But I agree it would be even better with a group.
JACQUIE, your blocks make me want to join the swap...but I'm sure I wouldn't get them done on time, so I'll just have to pass on this one, but jealously! Phoebe's picture is darling!!!
CHRISS, your afternoon sounds great! I'm so glad Marilyn has so many friends at her new school.
SHERRY, I hope your housework goes quickly so you have some time to sew before the game. Wolverines, huh? At my school each class takes on a different university. Each has its own cheer, which we shout every morning after our all school going to college cheer. I wrote the cheer for the Wolverines at their teacher's request, so I have a special place in my heart for them, too. lol
GRAMMIE, I trust this trip to MN is your last! If I'm remembering correctly, you're bringing the family back home. I hope the move goes quickly and smoothly!
MARYZ, you are one ambitious person! You must still be sore from all that rockery work, and already you're moving onto another big project...plus you get all that quilting done! I think you must be Superwoman!!! I've added your brother to my prayers, and I'm so glad he has such a positive attitude. My childhood (of more than 50 years!) began a long and sometimes grueling battle with cancers in two parts of her body 25 years ago. She went in and out of remission, but she has been cancer free for several years, now! I know it was her positive attitude that made the difference! AND, she was a single mom (a battered escapee) with 5 young children when her ordeal began! She just wouldn't let anything beat her down!
VELDA, your plans for the day sound like the makings of a perfect day. ENJOY!!!
LOIS, your plans for today sound best of all! I envy you your quilting buddy!!! I used to have 2 quilting buddies, but both moved away. I love my LQS more and more, but I haven't made a new connection like those dear old friends yet. We all started quilting about the same time together. My two friends never got to know each other (things just never seemed to work out), but I enjoyed taking classes with both of them and sewing together at home. But I'm working on a younger friend who always shows enthusiasm for my projects and might one day join me.
JANA, I love your church-at-home-on-tv with decadent breakfasts! Good luck with Michael's glasses, and your sewing room. I get so excited when I start making things better in my sewing room!
MARYQ, I like your cleaning plan...especially the part about playing downstairs in the afternoon! I'm assuming sewing is a downstairs activity. My childhood friend moved into my neighborhood when we were both 5. She's more family than friend! Ooh, if I had a place like that fabric warehouse you described I'd be in BIG TROUBLE!!! But oh, the fun I'd have getting in all that trouble!!!!!
SANDY, I'm off to read your post in Chit Chat. I could really use a laugh about now.
March was a long and painful month for me, and it's continuing into April. I started preparing Mom for the worst because she's been doing better and began to ask about my sister. I let her know on Wednesday that my sister had been hospitalized and wasn't doing well. This has upset me so much that every time I visit Mom I come home and get sick. This latest bout was especially bad, Thursday and Friday. I'm still having some minor burning stomach cramps, but not nearly as bad as they were, and no more of the 2 violent symptoms, thank goodness. Poor DH had to come home and take care of me Thursday afternoon because I felt faint and our bathroom is not near our bedroom so I needed him to walk with me. When he came in the look on his face told me how bad I must have looked! lol He said I was extremely pale! I crawled off to bed and couldn't even keep water down! I finally started eating yesterday late afternoon, and now that I'm on the mend I have a call in for Mom's doctor to call me so I can talk to her before I go back to tell her the worst. Please keep us in your prayers.
Special thanks to all who've sent me PMs. They really lift my spirits! And extra special thanks to Chriss for all your attention and putting out the word that I needed those PMs!
