Maryz - Prayers being said for your brother. Give me a comedy or chick flick any day over violence, death and destruction. Glad you are almost done with your rocks.

Lori - when I'm sewing my dog doesn't get on my quilt but she gets on the back of the love seat and kind of wraps herself around my neck. I love it.

Lois - hooray for your 'free' evening. My DH is really staying out of my hair since he's starting working on the 221 sewing machines.

Suz - I'm so glad you are feeling better. Do you like the twister?

Grammie - I know you will be glad when the kids are back home and all settled in.

Sherry - I'll try to have it warm and dry. We finally got rain last night - thank you, Jesus! How long will you be in Houston? And doesn't your son live on the northeast side? Does he have your time all scheduled out for you? If you are here over a weekend then we might could meet at a quilt shop and do lunch. Yummmmmm strawberry pancakes. Sounds good but me and strawberries.....talk about acid reflux!

Chriss - sorry about your appointment that you hate. I had mine on Monday. I learned to quilt by reading instructions and trial & error. I learn something all the time - at guild, here, talking to people, reading and doing. It's amazing all the info that's out there.

Our guest speaker at guild last night was a Sulky thread lady. She was funny and informative. Showed us lots of gorgeous thread painting and quilting. I got home just before the rain started. I did have to run to the car with lightening flashing all around. Scared the hooey out of me. Today, finally, I think will be a 'normal' day. No appointments or meetings...just go home from work, fix dinner, do a load and sew. And watch "Nashville".

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Vicky - congrats on the 8 lbs. Have fun with Tia and Jovanna. How is Tia feeling?

Maryq - oh, yes, put away that winter coat. Well, maybe not. That's wishful thinking. It's a good thing you are here for us - you're a great drug pusher! LOL

Good Sunny Morning....

I'm tired this morning after a night of strange dreams. On top of all the things going on my BFF(?)said some things that really hurt me. She insinuated that I would not go down to see DD because I have no contact with my ex. This time she's gone to far. I'm in super Mom mode not friend mode. Never cross a Mother.

I did do a lot of sewing what good therapy that was. I made most of my pillow cases. All those stright seams is just what I needed plus it's for a good cause. I'll finish them up today. Tomorrow I'm going out of the house.

The computer shut it self off....,who knows.

Maryz.....yes a few comedies will do. I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I will add him & you to my prayer list. Waiting is so difficult.(((((HUGS)))))

Lori....how much binding did you get done.

Liois....Happoy quilting..

Suzette....well, I'm happy you finished your twister top & you are feeling better.

Judi.....I'm praying for you DGD. What a terrible thing to happen to her. Have a wonderful dinner.

Sherry....it cold here too & the wind is howling like a frieght train. Spring is coming.............

Chriss....Why is this appt so long? Hope there is something good in the tv.

Vicky....welcome home. Congrats on the weight loss. I'm joining you starting yesterday.

Maryq....OH how wonderful!! Give my best to the bride & groom.

Cindyg.....you speaker sounds like one I should hear. With all the new threads out there I can get a little lost.

Carole....glad you enjoyed your class. What will you take with you for quilting. Or should I say how many projects will you take? What a wonderful trip that will be.

Sharona....So many people are not relable. Hope he turns out OK.

Pardon my spelling...spell check not working.

Love & prayers.....Kathy

Good Morning, Took a class yesterday on Precision Piecing. Talk about thinking you know how to be precise. Great class, learnt some interesting things on cutting and piecing. This was taught by an award winning quilter who lives here in Sun City Grand. What a wonderful teacher she is.

Tomorrow it is off to the dermatologist with Luke. Can't even imagine what this will cost. sigh.

DH is working on planning out our summer trip and we are leaving May 16th right after my infusion and will probably return sometime in October. Lots of visiting on our way. Tina, I will get a date that we are overnighting in NM to see you.

Today is going to be a stay at home day and get in the sewing room.
I am so behind in my 2 BOM. Busy working on the BABY quilt for Reagan. Hopefully, I will get it all put together today and ready to quilt.

MaryZ - How is Snickers doing? I think of the three of you all the time. Gosh, it almost sounds like Bill has you on the chain gang with that rock work. Here in AZ, Sheriff Joe has chain gangs, they even travel with a porta potty. I know too much info. Prayers going out for your brother and his family. Stay strong my friend.

Well seeing I have been up since 2:30 am I think I will go and get some coffee. Prayers for all those in need.

Hugs,

Carole

Good morning!

Maryz – glad your rockery is almost done – that sounds like a lot of work. I will be praying for your middle brother. The Olympus movie looks interesting. I hide my eyes at the violent and naughty bits – sometimes I even have to plug my ears. I agree – at least two comedies to make up for it!

Lori – good luck on the binding. I have a similar problem with cats wanting to ‘help’. When I‘m trying to do my bible study, Guido (my cat) will come up to the desk and want to be on the paper I’m writing on or stretch himself across the books I’m trying to read. Even if I hold the book he will rub up against the book!

Lois – hope your errands are quick so you can get to sewing. What are you going to do while your DH is at the game?

Suzette – I’m so glad to hear you had another good night’s sleep. Hope you find the perfect binding for the twister.

Judi – did they ever figure out what your DGD ingested? That is just so scary. It certainly is a lot of work to pack up a house – your DD is very lucky to have you to help. Enjoy the Mexican food!

Sherry – were you watching the newer or older Bond movies? Have fun sewing.

Chriss – good luck at the sleep apnea doc – sure hope the appt doesn’t drag out. My favorite chick flick (and I don’t have many) is ‘While you were Sleeping’. I watch it every New Year’s Eve. What did you watch?

Vicky – welcome home! What a great way to return – some Jovanna time. I love MyFitnessPal! Congrats on the weight loss.

Maryq – I’m guessing you shouldn’t put that winter coat away just yet..! How sweet of you to offer your coworker AND her cats your spare room! Congrats to your baby brother and his girlfriend!

Cindyg – thread painting sounds intriguing. Have you heard back on your test results yet? Was the dreadmill test as awful as you thought it would be? I remember when I had a stress test – did ok until the end. I had a coughing fit that lasted over half an hour – it was awful.

The guy who was supposed to replace the garage door never showed up. Didn’t even return a phone call made by DH. I didn’t want to use him, he seemed flaky to me. But I’m keeping my mouth shut…. It seems like I must have missed a bunch of posts yesterday – I shall go check those out. Not sure what today will bring – I will work some more on Miss Sylvia’s portable chalkboard. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

CindyG - I like the Twister but it is one of those things with a lot of steps to make the top. And it does waste fabric. A lot of people use the scraps in their borders. I would imagine if you make a big top you would need a lot of room to be able to spread out to cut the pinwheels. I did run into a problem with the ruler. It comes with little feet on the bottom to raise the ruler up off the fabric. Why I don't know. But, it caused problems with your rotary cutter. The instructor told me she took her's off. So hubby took mine off for me.

Good morning! It’s dreary here today—many shades of gray in the sky… wish I had it in fabric for the cabin swap!!! Yesterday we had intermittent cold drizzle, snow and sleet. In the middle of it all, a heifer had her first calf. They seemed to be doing o.k., and we will check later to make sure. She was nervous, so we looked with binoculars from a little way off from her.

It was a good day to stay in and sew, so I made the cover for DS1’s butchering equipment rack. DH took it over last night and put it on the rack—perfect fit! DS was quite pleased with it! I talked to Mom a couple of times, and she had visitors and plenty of food so I didn’t go to town. I’ll be going in this afternoon to spend time with her.

Carole—your class sounds wonderful! Who was the teacher?

Cindy—hope you visited the potty before your ride home!!! Driving in a thunderstorm can certainly make for a wild ride!

Kathy—we’ve got your back and understand all you are going through!!! Hope your BFF will eventually understand all the drama involved in the situation.

Vicky—congratulations on weight loss… on vacation!!!

Chriss—I’m sure you will enjoy your class and there’s always room to learn more!!! It would be fun to take it so you could help Marilyn learn to sew!!!

Suzette—what did you think of the twister? EDIT: The feet are to go over the seams so the ruler doesn't tip, but I agree the feet are too tall. Sandpaper dots work better! I used all my scraps in the borders. When I made the bigger quilts, I just had to scooch the fabric around on my small cutting table/mat. Every so often, I'd have to stop and think "where am I and what am I doing?", but it helped to have the design wall and place my blocks as I cut them to help keep track...

MaryZ—I hate movies that are just violent for the sake of violence and to fill up time… give me a good romantic comedy… For some reason, men prefer the gore and guts… I’m hoping for good news for your brother… HUGS!!!

Oh, I wish I had more time here!!! I have so much to do before I go to town to Mom’s… I’m glad I’m here and can help out… still, it does take a lot of time… I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I have an unexpected day off of work due to a broken sewer pipe in the basement of the office. I'm working on shampooing the carpet in the spare room that David dry-walled the ceiling in and I painted. It was Victoria's room and she was hard on it. I also read about a do-it-yourself recipe for removing hard water stains so I'm trying that out in the shower.

Sharona - isn't it frustrating when a contractor does not show up? Maybe it's a sign that he's the wrong one.

Maryz - prayers for your brother

Maryq - congratulations on your new Sister-in-law!

Cindyg - I'd be a little nervous about taking a class on precision piecing as it would show how non-meticulous I am!

Carol - hope all goes well for Luke at the dermatologist. The vet I worked for also did chiropractic and acupuncture. In typing up her notes, I think there were actual acupuncture points for dermatitis!

Okay, off to the store to pick up a few things while my concoctions are sitting on the carpet and the shower. (Hope they work!) Have a great day,
Karlene

Good morning!

It is sunny and beautiful here!

I just sent off my taxes with the accompanying extortion payments - oh the fabric - should I say the fabric store - I could have bought with that money! Oh well.......

Today is another quiet day here - Stu is playing with Ethan at their house - they came out yesterday afternoon for time here and dinner. Ethan sat next to Grandpa at the dinner table - in his highchair - pulled as close as Grandpa could get it to him - then Ethan held onto Grandpa's sleeve as he ate and smiled! Made Grandpa feel good too!

So not much going on here - just packing up more of Sarah's stuff for her to take tonight - may get some time in sewing too - I so need to do that!

Hugs and Prayers
