Good Morning. It is bright and sunny and cold but at least sunny, I am getting clothes together as I am headed to Minn on saturday, I have cooked and cooked and DH will not starve, I baked bread yesterday and will do 3 more loaves tomorrow...that should take care of him for the 3 weeks I will be gone.

My son called last night. DGD is ok but she is still frightened and wants to come home,,,,they will head that way today. Appartently someone at a very famous restuarant put something in her drink (It was water) these girls don't do stupid stuff or drugs or anything,,,,The police figure just a randon act of stupidity, by someone figuring it would make her sick in the restuarant and big publicity, they don't know who but the place is always crowded with hundreds of kids. We are just glad she is ok. It put her in the hosital for 2 days, Son spoke with the owner of the restuarant too, and filed a police report. Vacation ruined, Dr said she could have been worse but she didn't drink all the water. thank God she is ok...and they are coming home....

I worked on the hexxie quilt and will take it with me,,,it is about half done, But the border is hand appliqued so that will be the test for sure, I am not a good applique person, but I do like the relaxation of sitting and doing hand work. Never thought I would say that again.

May go and see the kids today, it has been 2 days since Pa seen them and he needs to get his hug fix. I will head out to get a belt for my new machine. Might stop at a LQS, just because.

I will put on a pot of spagetti sauce for supper. meatballs sound good too. that is it for me. XXXOOO

Good Late Morning!

I went to bed early and slept late to make up for it! I'll be glad when we get this bunch of home chores/improvements finished and I can go back to my normal days of just sewing all day in my jammies!

KATHY - so happy to her your DD is thru surgery and beginning her recovery.. So scary to be so far away.

CHRISS - you're taking a beginning quilting class? I should probably go with you. I've never taken a quilting class in my life. I probably have all sorts of bad habits that should be slapped out of me.

JACQUIE - your pictures of your walk were beautiful! I bet your dogs love running loose and sniffing everything. It's similiar to my daily morning walk. Snickers loves it!

SUZ - My DH was dx'd with acid reflux, too. He's on Omeprozole (generic name) for the rest of his life. We get it at Costco and it's much cheaper than other stores.

LORI - word around the forum is that you're almost ready for membership in the Empty UFO Box Club. Then what????

CINDY - glad you got your yesterday overwith with all your testing. The same person who dirties all your clothes, must work at MY house, too. Because our hamper fills up a lot faster than I think two people who just wear jeans and tee shirts should fill it! I was so tired yesterday that I fell asleep halfway through Dancing and then finally went to bed at 9:30. I hope Bill DVR'd it for me. I can go a month or two and not have to sign in. Then all of a sudden, I have to sign in almost every time for a week. I don't get it. Ask Linda.

LOIS - I should do the Maytag Swing, too, but think I'll wait until Thursday. It's supposed to rain that day and I won't be working outside.

DELORES - how's the new baby doing? How's the house trainging going?

SHARONA - never underestimate the power of duct tape and baling wire!

MARY Q - I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope things settle down for you. Do you plan to put your thoughts into a letter to the boss or just talk? How much longer do you plan to work before retirement?

Today, we'll work some more on our rockery. May even finish it! We need to go get some more cottage stones first, and then a load of dirt, I think. We have the hard part just about finished. The rest will be a breeze! And I hope to squeeze in an hour or two working on my cabin blocks.

We have tons of birds singing the last few days. It's finally here, folks!

KARLENE - how scary for your DD, and then the chicken surprise! Add some time and it will be a funny story! How are the newlyweds doing? and how is that DD feeling?

JUDI - so glad your DD is going to be OK. I fear this type of thing happens all too often! Ken is so lucky to have you take such good care of him. Bill is less lucky.

and now - a few minutes of sewing before I hit the walking trail!

Good morning from soggy Utah!

It has been raining all night long and my ground is muddy, but that is all good for the tulips that have poke their heads up in the front bed - won't be long now before I have blooms!

I went yesterday and took care of my little boys and Emma - it was opening day of baseball season, so my Andrew and I watched the Giants game - we had lots of fun as Grandma taught him all the fine points of the game! LOL

Michael was going over the pay stubs from our work - I had been wondering why the paychecks seemed to be wrong - well I was right - the company had neglected to pay us for the second week of the pay cycle for several paychecks - they owe us 89 hours of pay! We called and talked to the owner - he is seeing what happened and that it may have happened to several others as well - that will be a nice check to get - hummmmm - what to spend it on - I have a list a mile long - no make that 2 miles!! LOL

Stu and Ethan will be over later this afternoon, Sarah has meetings tonight, so Grandma will feed them.

Judi - what a scary time and to think that some idiot put it in the water! Maybe I will take bottled water in to drink from now on.

Kathy - so glad to read that Kim is doing better - is she going to stay at her place, or come out and stay with you for awhile? I tore all the ligaments in my ankle a few years ago and it was tough getting around my house - I used a office chair that rolled to manuaver through. Yes - I am in a red and yellow phase of my life - have been for about ten years - still love it! Red is my favorite color.

Well my breakfast timer just warned me I have one minute left - need to go turn it off

Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Maryz - Elizabeth was lucky! Poor girl, it was just about a month ago that the deer hit her. She is getting more and more cautious about driving at night! Victoria's queasiness is getting the best of her this week. She is still early in her first trimester so I hope that it will ease off the further along she gets. Rich is in his last quarter of college and he has picked up more work shifts, so I think right now as newlyweds they are more like to ships passing in the night.

I did something on Sat. I have not done before. I bought a new vacuum, used it, and took it back. I've had my last vacuum for 10-11 years and it had seen it's better days. I picked out a different model that has a good reputation, but after using it, it was not able to do what my simpler vacuum had, so I asked David what to do. He said to take it back, but I felt funny doing that since I had just vacuumed the whole house with it. He asked me what I did not like about it and I told him the 3 things, and he said those were legitimate reasons for returning it. So we disassembled it, cleaned it up, packed it up and the store was great about exchanging it. I came home with another like my old simpler vacuum and hope this one will give me another 10 years or so.

The ER doctor told me to take Prilosec. I go see my primary care dr tomorrow and will see what he says. I do feel better today so in a little while I will go out to my studio and work. I missed it yesterday. I will check back in later.

I have started the count down. Less then 3 weeks, and that doesn't seem like a long time, but I know it will be here and over in no time. Not only am I counting down, I am also gathering things so I hopefully don't forget anything. Looking forward to see the quilting gals again, and makes me smile just thinking about our reunion.

The question about the bees. Sometimes they make it through the winter, sometimes not. There are so many variables about weather, food source in the hives, size of bees and strength of them. They order the bees early in the year, to make sure there will be bees available. I think he knows if the hives are ok as he was out there yesterday. He wouldn't have opend them but he would have looked around. It's too cold to look in them as that requires taking off the top. On the warmer days you would be able to watch the bees leave the hives or see if they are removing the deceased bees or "robbing" from another hive.

If you would like a good laugh go to www.pepsimax.com/testdrive We saw part of it on a commercial and had to see the rest of it. That poor man was very professional all things considered.

Have a good day.
Sandy off to sew, I hope..

Good afternoon from the cabin in the woods. It's rather gloomy here today. Sleeted most of the morning. Three weeks from today our trip to Paducah will be over, Then DH and I are going to Panama City Beach for a few days before we get on the Carnival Conquest to cruise the Caribbean. Hope Carnival has cleaned up its act. There were to be 6 of us but because of varius reasons, Dh and I are the only ones still going. I would be more excited if it was warm enough for me to pack only summer clothes.
Some of you gals have sure had a scary Monday. Hope things are well on their way to being as normal as possible.
There are honey bees in my front yard. The grass needs to be mowed. How do you do that in the sleet?
We have class tonight. After Bible study this morning I have cut, cut, cut.

Hugs and prayers for all.
