Good morning! I’ve had a busy weekend, and I must go back and read Saturday’s and Sunday’s posts… Brunch at our house was great fun Easter morning, and I went to Mom’s and spent the afternoon with her. I took her lots of goodies for her breakfasts this week. I will be going in this afternoon to spend time with her and to eat supper with her, then come home and fix DH’s dinner. This will be a busy two weeks while my sister is out of town, so I may be pretty scarce here. When we checked the cows after brunch yesterday, we found a mama cow cleaning off her new baby. We got to see it get up for the first time, kick up its heels, frolic around, then start the search and find for its first breakfast. What an appropriate event for Easter! I never tire of seeing the baby calves… all 16 of them now!
We were at DS1’s Saturday afternoon getting an extra table and some chairs for yesterday, and I got to see DGD’s bucket calf for the fair. I’m so sorry its mama didn’t survive, but Jack (I called him HUNGRY Jack) is an adorable little dark chocolate, very friendly (and HUNGRY) calf. I’ll be over there wanting to get to feed him!!!
Mel—your retreat sounds wonderful!!! Thank you for making me feel I was there with you—mountains AND the water… what could be more inspiring!!! So sorry you were sick, but it sounds like you made the best of it!!!
Jacquie—What a lovely walking trail!!! Looks like your dogs were checking out the smells along the way! Your view is beautiful!!! So neat to be able to visit Scotland today!!! I can understand about enjoying every minute you had with Phoebe but being exhausted when she went home!!! Oh, you will have so much fun when she is closer!!! Best wishes to your DH in his course!
MaryQ—I like the sandpaper dots better than the bigger bumps on all my rulers. I understand why the twister has the larger “feet” to go over the x-seam although I agree—too much of a good thing. The larger one that I made has only sandpaper dots and my corners don’t slip. I’ve got your back!!!
Chriss—you will have so much fun with the twister! Marilyn may even want to sew! I’m sure she will figure out projects for you! What an exciting weather day! Hope the hail wasn’t damaging!!!
MaryZ—You were an ornery little cuss… and, you haven’t changed much!!! Too funny!!! Don’t you EVER change!!! Loved the story!!!
Lori—only 3 ufo’s… you go, Girl!!! Hope you settle into your new shift at work!
Lois—hope your work goes quickly and you’re home quickly!
Judi—so sorry to hear about your DGD! So glad to hear she is better—it’s scary with them so far away! We’re all here waiting with you to hear the good news that she is home, or on the way, and o.k.!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day—watch your backs for the likes of MaryZ and her tricks!!! Don’t get fooled!!! Better yet, stay in your sewing room and be careful with your rotary cutters and seam rippers…
