Maryq, that was Joann who had the big shindy for her family yesterday...have some more coffee, hon...LOL!

Thanks for all the good wishes, gals. This cold is a real mutha, now clinging on on day TEN. Maybe this will be *it* for my winter flu? Time will tell.

I hand-stitched the binding on my boss' "grandma" quilt yesterday. My stitches were nice and even because the backing is a small repeating print; even though I wasn't feeling too great, following the pattern on the little squares was easy.

Felt up to taking a romp through JoAnn's yesterday afternoon, with my growly voice. Used my nice coupons :-) and got a 12" rotating mat. That is going to make my remaining flying geese for the calendar quilt swap MUCH easier! Also got backing for Jerry's quilt, a soft grey-blue printed with stars. Thought about flannel, but it will be more versatile with the cotton, IMO. Got fabric for more green geese. Picked up a bottle of fabric adhesive so I can finish my friend's Cold Hands, Warm Heart wall hanging and some black elastic for DD#1's headlamp.

I found the MOST adorable panel with an apron to cut out and sew. Done in shades of green (favorite color!) and printed with a Dickens quotation. Fell in love with it and it was the last one they had, so I snapped it up! I think I want to put a backing on it so it will hold up longer over the years. Have plenty here in stash that will work.

Sewing area is kind of a wreck. If I want to work on my apron, it will need a tidy. The panel is in the wash, along with the rest of the fabrics I got yesterday, so I have some time to clear up the mess!

Good morning! Its sunny today, maybe 50's by noon! Wuhoo!

I have to do some grocery shopping for turkey day, but don't want to take all the ducklings with me....but I don't want to miss football later either....such a dilema....

I didn't think of mashed potatoes in the crockpot, that's a great idea! I was going to do sweet potatoes in the crockpot but its a good thing I have two crock pots. BettyCrocker.com had a good receipe for sweet potatoes cooked all day if someone needs it.

Cats! I have a few to give away if anyone lives close by! Mama Kitty had two more on Labor Day and they are sweet...but that makes 6! And no one has the heart to put down the oldest cat, even tho she bites everyone. Whew! Too many!

Hope everyone can sew today!

Good morning

It is clear and cold here today and the sun is shinning hurray....

We had a company appreciation dinner last night. It was actually pretty nice. The food was good and it was held on a cruise boat, Argosy Cruises. It is docked in Seattle and cruises around Elliott Bay so you have stunning views of Seattle at night.

Just as well we went out last night, the main burner on my stove caught on fire yesterday and died. DH promised he would fix it today AFTER he got back from fishing priorties ya know....LOL

Joann - That was quite a party, glad it went off OK I read somewhere you could do potatoes a day or so head of time and reheat them, but I like that cropckpot idea

CaroleJ - That cold should be on it's way out soon, does seem like they hang around forever

Fabricgirl - Congrats on your new cat We adopted a feral cat and have had it for about a year now. She comes in the house long enough to eat then heads back outside. Lately she stops long enough to be petted of about a minute. A few days ago she actally curled up on my lap until something startled her and she took off. I was shocked. Max loves to chase her when she comes in the house.

Chriss - You are my hero

Hi Everyone!!
It is cool here, in the 60s and cloudy. After Mass this morning we went out for breakfast. I am letting my breakfast settle before I go for my walk/run. DH wants to go too, so it will force me to go today. Then we want to work outside for a couple of hours. The back yard is really overgrown. It is supposed to rain so I think I will turn off the sprinkler system then I may be able to work out there tomorrow otherwise the ground is too damp.

CaroleJ - Hope you are feeling better today! The apron panel sounds very pretty, good idea to put a back on it.

FG - Congratulations on the new cat. Have you decided on a name?

Kathy - Happy shopping!

We - sounds like you had a great time with your Dad! Treasure these times even with his complaining!

Mary - Glad to hear your DD is getting settled and you are still able to sew!

Ann - You sound busy! have fun quilting!

Carolyn - Congratulations on the bonus! I am looking forward to getting a quilt returned to me by LA (at Bears) soon too. He originally told me it would be the last week of November, but I think he is running a couple of weeks behind.

Grammie - It is so cool to see Hawks! have fun with the Lizzie today!

I would like to sew a few minutes this morning before the walk/run so I will see you later.

Happy Quilting!
Carol

Good morning to all.......it's cold here, but the sun is out so it doesn't seem too bad. Just finished making a crockpot full of sloppy joe for the hunters lunch tomorrow, later I'll do up a pan of bars. I am determined to get the Wicked Witch quilt done today.....just need to sew the rows together & figure out the sashing for it. I will be so happy to have it done! Then on to tote bags, I've got 3 orders for them and I need to do a couple up for Christmas presents to give. No Packers game today, but it'll be on tomorrow night. Hope everyone has a good day.
