Good afternoon from sunny, cold Sw. Pa....Just heard the weather report and we're to get colder in the next day or so....I am so tired of this weather!
Not much happening in our neck of the woods...Washer and dryer are going full speed and I'm hoping to get to the sewing room, if only to give it a cleaning....I was also hoping not to have to leave the house but tonight DH and I are going to Panera Bread to pick up all the extra bread and goodies for Meals on Wheels...

Mornin' everyone.
This has been one looooong week. Our manager set up 'permanant' schedules for all dept. supv. about a month ago. LOL, as of last week our permanant schedules changed. Today is day 7 without a day off due to the change. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to sew in between laundry and housework.
I did get one block together on quilt and posted a pic of it under photo section.

I am having a lazy morning today. I should be running errands today. AAA, DMV and car insurance to pay, Fry's for a riem of paper and printer ink. Then up to Julian to go to our bank.

Weather is sunny and warm during the day. yesterday got up to 84* when I left at 2PM, and was 54* when I got home at 10PM.

Rubios was fun with Alina, she stitched on the label for Marcia's bc quilt.

After that we spend almost 1 hour at B&N.

Then....the QIAD BOM. El showed her 'EL's Angel Quilts' for the BOM students. Marcia was in tears receiving her bc Quilt. Alina took a lot of pictures from that event. I used wool batting and flannel pink ribbon for backing. In the middle I did stitch in the ditch and the borders I quilted all the pink ribbons into it. I even did the binding myself, thank s to GmaAnn for endlessly teaching me to do it 'almost' correctly.

Now we have only 3 weeks untill the next BOM, which will be a pot-luck and ALL the BOM varietions we did this last year for El's new book to come out next year.

Talk about pressure there. If you bring a 'worthy' FINNISHED BOM project you have a chance to get it published in next years book. Better look your best during this event because of the pictures they'll be taking for this new book.

2 Months ago we had a tea party for Littlebit/Michelle's pattern book.
Same scenario, you bring a FINNISHED project from that pattern and look photo shoot ready.

Anne Dease came out with a new signature pattern for EB QIAD. It is called 'How Charming'. VERY easy to do. Table topper from start to finnish will take you about 4 hours. Lap quilt is a true quilt in a day project. It uses 86 charms. With the Tayler Pro you can cut accurate 5"charms now, and just whip those puppies out.

Well, off I go, a little more lazing around and back to my own 'little' sweat shop. (Entire house has been taken over with sewing and quilting)

Oh...oh......*SMILE* I got my hands at the BL Jewel mid arm yesterday at QIAD. What a beautyyyyyyyyyyyy. Smooooothhhhh. Annelies (forum members here and teacher at QIAD) had brought her mother to the BOM. Her Mom speaks Dutch. What a sweet sweet lady. She knits.

LOL Yes Ma'am, I am going to get an actually Up To Date sticker. I omited to do so this year just for you. <grin>

And yes, poor me, my bank is ALL the way back up in Julian. And you know how much I 'hate' that drive? (not)

*Ugh* tomorrow I go back to the dentist, getting the last work on my implants done. Lets not even think about this yet.

Friday I fly into Sacramento and drive to Yosimity to go see my youngest son Jan-Willem. I am flying back on Monday.

WoooHoooo my oldest son Sandor and ((I hope our soon DDILto be)) called yesterday and offered to do the Thanks-Giving dinner. YES, leaves me more time to quilt. I'll make a few dessert itmes and appetizers. I don't mind the cooking so much, but the cleaning up after the meal is usual a BEAR. Unless I say up front "I do the cooking, the guys do the cleaning". (still while you're cooking you might as well do 'most' of the cleaning ahead allready).

I did not leave yet because I was exchanging pictures through MSN-online with my son Bjorn, who was in Vegas this past weekend.

I can't believe T-giving is next week either Iowa... seems like I just had "plenty of time" a store in our area gives you a free 15# turkey if you spend $99.00........so I have one in the freezer from last weeks shopping trip and will go one more time for more food and another turkey....

Judi, I am doing super.... thanks for asking....DH isn't doing so well, he has slowed down but hasn't totally quit...

Carolyn, we have a pecan tree... I bought it from e-bay.... it is a little taller than me and hasn't produced yet...but then our young walnut tree only gave us one walnut last year... it was our first ever...

Nice gas prices Carin, it is still $2.09 here....

Susanna, you are brilliant... I think I need a bank account in Julian...lol

hope you all have a fun evening,
Chriss

I will cut some material tonight and tomorrow I can start sewing again. I went to the grocery store today and Joann fabric is right next door to Safeway so I just slipped in for a minute or two...LOL

I got the big projects done so what aI have left to do before Christmas won't take too long. Famous last words....
