Fabric washing! Cindyg you were so right! I can't believe the difference! No, I mean NO raveling!!! Amazing! I like pinking shears, too, but my hands just can't take them...the pinking blade works like a dream. I'm glad to know what LK is! I'm a real slow study with these initials..Sorry you have to work (been there, done that!)but maybe tonight you'll get to sew some!

Denise - I can't wait to see your frame! My DH made me one, too. I need to wait until after the holidays to set it up - it takes up alot of space in the living room, which is where I like to hand quilt - that way I can watch TV with DH. I've done the first block in the "Pick and Stitch", still need to do #2. I'm doing 2 of each. What are your colors and theme??

Grammie you are a busy lady! It's got to be freezing where you are and washing windows (even from inside) will be COLD!! lol

Gosh Winona, please send the rain to Ohio!! It missed us last time..I think we might get something from this bunch, tho.

Well, back to the basement to wash more fabric! At least there are no "sparkles" in this bunch!! LOL!

Joanne :0)

Well, I am in my GED classroom, but no one has shown up today. So, I've been catching up on my reading here. I slept a little better last night than the night before, but not great. I guess the rain that was making me hurt missed us and went into Missouri. It doesn't have to rain right where I am, just somewhere in the next state or two. I assume the air pressure changes so far out around the rain. I probably won't get to sew this week. I am supposed to be retired, too. I teach one day a week. However, I have substituted an extra day the last two weeks. My sil is visiting from New Mexico and we try to visit a lot while she is here. I have to go to the LQS tomorrow to help work on our next Opportunity Quilt for my guild and several of us are having lunch with a member who moved to Colorado and had to make a quick trip back. Friday and Saturday I am doing a run away from home weekend with a friend whose husband is sick from chemo and stressing her out. In between that, I am checking in on my father in law at the nursing home because he is not feeling well. I spent all one day this week machine embroidering his name on all of his winter clothes. He was really depressed yesterday, so I'll probably drop back by today when I leave here. His wife and I are the only ones who are going in to visit. I have talked until I am blue in the face, but I am having no effect on his children and grandchildren. My daughter lives 3 hours away, but sees him every time she comes home. The ones who live here in town have been once since June. Oh well.

I just looked at the radar map for Arkansas, and there is no rain here yet, but I can see it peeking all up and down the left hand side. It looks like Oklahoma, Kansas and northwest Missouri are getting it, and it will probably be here tomorrow. Evie, it won't be long until you get the rain.

Well I finally get a few short minutes of puter time to say hello. Sounds like everyone is busy and many are quite chilly. It has rained here 1/2 inch and the windy is nippy. We have the Heater all ready.

Joannequilts I also have a Plumeria tree. It is only 4-5 ft tall. Since this cold front will only be a few days and then we will be back into the 60 & 70's I just moved mine close to the house under the covered patio. It is protected so I hope it will be okay? This was the first year it bloomed. But it did put on 2 more branches so it looks more like a tree than just a stick. These are really neat. How long have you had yours? How large of a pot do you have it in?

Bev I also have a scrappy quilt that I hope to get to work on tonight. What pattern are you doing? Justin and the family doing okay? How did your Ear get? I hope you aren't coming down with that doozy of a cold stuff that is going around!!!!!!!

Tul, I know you will be happy when Jeff gets back home! I sure hope you are feeling much better. Girl you have had way more than your share of sickness. Got to get ya well!!!!!!! Been praying.

Sarah, you need to rest some. You will end up getting sick with just a few hrs sleep a night. Not a good way to start into the Winter Sister. You are on a roll with your blocks and quilts. I love to see you happily working on them because I can imagine you smiling & all happy.

9patch What pattern & colors are oyu going to do for your parents quilts? I too will be soooo glad when the elections will be over. I am tired of all the mud slinging. Growups behaving that way just irks me and they have for years while campaigning but geesh! They do not need to be so ugly with it. IMHO. Oh well. It will what it will be soon. Yes those kiddo's can wear you out! LOL But in short time frames they can sure be funny & entertaining. I always enjoyed volunteering at the School. Parents would just CROAK if they knew what their kids go to School & tell! LOL

Well ya'll have a great day & I hope you all get to sew and not have to pick up the seam ripper once!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs & Love
Well it looks like the DH will be home until tomorrow. I have a Drs appt this afternoon after lunch and then I need to run to JoAnn's & another errand or two. By the time I get home, it will be time to get supper on the table and then I think some of the kids are coming over so the grands can see Papa. I think. So I may not be back on the computer until tomorow.

Hi all, I am home with the cold from h---. Running a fever, have no voice and all kinds of sutff is comiong out of my head and chest. YUCK. At least I can get some sewing some while I'm up, then will go back to bed for a while.
This is not fun.
This is the first time I've been really sick since I retired from the library. Been around kids for 2 weeks and I'm sick as a dog. Funny thing is, I got it from the teacher!
Will read a little and head for the sewing room.
Back later.

Good Morning We are back from the gym, had breakfast and ready to face the day. The sun is shinning brightly, which is OK with me cause I CLEANED YESTERDAY. I am off to Joann fabrics this morning I have my coupons and a list so will see what happens.

We have a quilt show coming up in Washington and so I am sending messages to the ladies that live in Wasington to see if we can get together and go to the show. Wouldn't that be cool. I have heard from two so far so I am excited. Gotta go will check in later

Trying to tidy up my sewing area a little...not feeling terribly motivated so it's going slow!

I was going to make a kerchief for a friend out of pink ribbon/breast cancer support fabric...and I wasn't paying attention and cut it too small...*%$@&!!! Oh well...

Remembered, to my horror, I have to have flapper costumes ready for the girls to take to camp the day after tomorrow...*%$@&! times two! I am hoping I am not going to have to stay up half the night Thursday to get these done...what was I thinking?!

We are off to our weekly playdate with friends soon...supposed to be pretty warm again.
