Re: Good Sunday Morning----October 19, 2008
Good morning Ladies! Mornings are getting pretty cool here -- we're at a lovely 36 degrees this morning. DH started a fire for me last night, the house is toasty warm this morning. The rest of this week is suppose to drop down to the 20s. But the days are suppose to be nice.
I'm going to try and get DH's grandmother's lap quilt top finished today. I've been side tracked trying to make a blouse for myself for DD wedding. That task is completed, just have to get to Reno this next week to find some nice fabric to make the real thing.
Well, guess I'll get the sewing room straightened up some, so I can get started. ya'll have a wonderful day, happy trails, jac

GOOD MORNING--
Suzette I did the same- started Beef Burgandy in the crock pot at 7:00!! Never made it before, hope it turns out!! For some reason my cooking/baking lately hasn't been great.
Beverly- wow 38? Its about 50 here, should get into high 60s today.
Mary- 12 days straight? That's awful... hang in there:)
I have to finish an autumn wall hanging for work today-- want to hang it up tomorrow. If I have time, will work on xmas gift quilt for DS. But do want to just relax a little too-- we have had 4 nurses sick at work, and I don't want my resistance to get too low!!

YYIIIIPPPPEEEEE
I lucked out and DON'T have to go to work today!!! They found someone else to fill in for the "sickee". So I've started some chores and shortly I'm headed down to the lower level to kick butt down there. I MAY even get time to stitch a little today. I'm such a happy girl!!
As soon as it drys up a little I'm headed out to mow the lawn, if there's enough gas in the mower. It's so pretty out here today.

Have a great day... see y'all later! Hopefully I'll be able to report my sewing for today!

Good morning, ya'll! It's a beautiful crisp autumn day here, too. The crockpot dishes sound so good, think I'll join in on that! Yesterday I went to the chiropractor and on the way home DH whipped into the parking lot of the civic center to take me to the quilt show! Wheee! I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful quilts and the vendor booths. Everywhere I looked there was an embroidery machine working its' little heart out all on it's own! All last week my back has been "ouchy" and my dad in the hospital, so we've been running our tails off back-n-forth, so this quilt show was such a wonderful break. I bought QIAD's new Dessert Time quilt pattern and had fun looking at all the gorgeous embroidery threads. Anyway, as we left the show DH took a wrong turn out of the parking lot and as his personal front-seat navigator, I had to point out his error immediately! LOL! Well, he had purchased a beautiful oak and glass quilt cabinet/rack for me without my knowledge and was going to meet the vendor out back to load it in our van! I was so surprised and thrilled! Love the piece of furniture, but was so touched by DH's thoughtfulness most of all!
When DH and grandmonkey get back here in a bit, I'm going to post a few pics while DH is here to help me. Hope everyone is having a nice day!

Mary I'm so glad you have a day off!!
GP - hope your back is doing better-- the new furniture sounds wonderful:)
I was sewing the binding and hanger on the top of the wallhanging-- even did a second seam to support the weight, and found I put the binding on the wrong side!!!!!!!! Oh well, time to rip. A local radio station has smooth jazz every Sunday morning from 10-12, so I can listen to some nice soothing music!!

Pam
I saw those at Pacific Internationalt quilt show this weekend. I really liked the upright with the rack inside style. Very pretty. I liked that you could fold and stack or hang them. I thought the other ones - horizantal with the glass dome - reminded me of a coffin. A friend of mine took a huge fish tank - those really big ones - put her quilts in it and used it as a coffee table.

Good morning, Checkers! My DH got me the one like you described that you can stack quilts, hang quilts or both. I didn't even see the other ones you were talking about. I give nearly all my quilts away, so DH told me now I have to make some quilts for us to put in my cabinet.
quiltnewby, bless your heart, why is it when we "re-enforce" a seam and make sure it's there to stay, that's when we've goofed and have to double un-sew!??! Been there and done that numerous time!
Well, grandmonkey and her Papa just got back, so I'm off to take pics to post. IowaGal, you'll see something familiar in the pics!

Good Morning!
The skies are clear and it is a nice day here but not as cool as in some parts of the country. I took Vic to work at Macy's and will be off to pick her up in a couple of hours, so until then I am finishing up my placemats. I have one more to finish the binding and then I need to clean up this mess.LOL
Those crockpot dishes sound delicious, DH just volunteered to help with dinner when he gets back from the range so I think I will just wait on him.
