Sunday November 30,2025
Good morning,
Yesterday was great but I was tired after it was all done the one thing that I found great it wasn't too peopley in either store and that was a good thing.
Today I'm going to get to the cleaning that I keep saying I have to get done but didn't the calendar has been full lately.
So that's my story I'm going to get started when Bill gets up.
I hope you all have a great day whatever you decide to do.
Dinner will be ravioli and meatballs
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good Morning,Lois I want your supper..sounds delicious...Do you make your own ravioli? meatballs?
Im with your today. I need to finish the house cleaning I have been putting off. I did get some of it done yesterday but there is more house to do..
We went to the hockey game last night it was fun but the boys lost. 2-1 close but no cigar. Colleen's Father in law ( battling cancer) was there and it was good to see him out of the house,,,He is frail but moving better,
After house keeping I plan on maybe getting in the sewing room to work on the guild projects,,,Maybe load up the QOV.
I was cyber shopping and an interesting thing came up. Bernina has a Sashiko foot. I have always been interested in Sashiko but didnt need another hand project. This looks pretty cool with a special thread might have to give this a try,,,(one can never have too many interesting things to do.) Got to put this on my bucket list.
I have all my Christmas shopping done except for 1, except for gift cards and I hope to get them this week. I still need ideas from the Mom for 9 yr old Ryker, This kid has everything and more but the little all have gifts to open and he needs one too. I will be talking to his Mom this week.
Hope your Sunday is blessed XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Morning
Mary is a basset female that's spayed. I don't plan on ever breeding puppies. But if we do, it's far into future.
Today is church, then not sure. Yesterday I worked on my cross stitch, Today I may go into sewing room and cut out a new blouse.

Re: Sunday November 30,2025
Good morning,
LOIS - glad the places you went yesterday weren't too peopley. Makes for a much better shopping trip. You know, didn't the Lord say something about Sunday being a day of rest - it's a serious "out" of those chores, you know! It's not like they are going anywhere! The nice thing about chores, they are patient (a good virtue!) and they will wait for you until the end of time!
VAL - good news about Tony. I'm glad he's feeling better. And glad your DH is feeling better, too. But did he get thoroughly checked out? As you know, sometimes effects from accidents such as this come back to haunt you even months later. If this was an on the job injury, I hope he doesn't close it out too soon.
FLO - I'd love to live with puppies, but sure wouldn't want to get involved in breeding them! Yikes! Lots to consider there!. What is your cross-stitch project? I have a big one in progress - not very far in progress - of a mama bear and two cubs ambling through the mountains at sunset, and the background is very forested and looks just like so many places I've been in our mountains. Now you've got me in the mood to get it out again. I set it aside to do CW's.
JANA - You will have your RN before long at the rate you are going! Sorry about the cranberry orange bread. Could you make it without the nuts? I know, they are the best part, but better some than none? Or how about grinding them so you still get the flavor if not the crunch? Though I'd take a couple of those snickerdoodle muffins, if there's any left . . . . Maybe I should make some myself this morning . . . And aren't those recipes in your mom's handwriting precious! I have a few of my mom's, too. In fact, for Christmas one year, Lara had one printed on a kitchen towel for me! There is a company that will do that. Now I have my mom's cookie recipe in her beautiful Palmer penmanship, hanging on my kitchen wall!
JUDI - good choice - Liam's hockey over housework! I am going to start my cards today. Maybe a card to lost members will entice them to stop by and say hello once in a while just so we know how they are doing. I often wonder about Izzy. It will be nice to sit back and enjoy your beautifully decorated house! Hmm, 9 yr old Ryker.... I'm still voting for Legos. But what else does he like besides hockey? Our youngest guy in our family is 29 yrs old so I have no one to ask for ideas for you. Bill suggested models? Cars? Boats?
MARY Q - been worrying about your kids, Did everyone make it home OK in the snow? And did you get all your worry-cleaning done yet? With me, it's rage-cleaning that gets it all done. If I'm really upset about something, I clean like a white tornado. Fortunately or not, I rarely get that angry about anything anymore so we finally had to hire a house-cleaner. Seahawks play MN Vikings today at 1:05 my time. Let's make our usual bet - a FQ - pretend, OK? Neither of us need more fabric and postage is too nuts! But - Go Hawks!
CHRISS - glad your non-forum retired RN friend and I have been able to guilt you - er, I mean encourage - yes, that's it! encourage! you to return to cardiac rehab. You know it's only for your own good. Now, if we could convince your dad to follow his doctor's orders and stay put, though I admit, taking care of Judi probably isn't a sit down job. Hugs to him! Last time we went over Sonora Pass was in June, late 1990's, and the snow was - no exaggeration - 12 feet high! Higher than the motorhome we were in at the time. In JUNE! Ready to heat'n'eat meals for your parents are the greatest of gifts! And the very best way you can help them right now. Let us know if you need more ideas and/or recipes for meals for them. I'm sure we all have at least one easy to prepare specialty.
LORI - thanks! I received the directions, though haven't opened them yet. Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond yet. We left the house yesterday morning and didn't return until almost dinner time. I was beat! We both went to bed at 7:45 last night. Since you found more patterns, do you need anything back from what you sent me to make more projects? My next trip out I will pick up a 9" hoop, though I'll check first. Maybe I have one already.
LYN - It took me until this morning to read about Dr. Martin Couney but I finally got to it this morning. Interesting! The incubator innovator for preemies! I'm going to share with my NICU friends. Think of all the people who are alive today because he saved those thousands of babies (and ultimately their descendants!). Thank you. Thinking of Garry and you every day! Two steps forward, one step back. HUGS!
Yesterday we ran several local errands - went to 3 places looking for boxed Christmas cards and brown wrap for packages. Nothing. On the recommendation of the girls at Sew Hip (our LQS) we went to Home Goods and found both. I should have bought enough for next year, too, since cards are apparently getting scarce. And speaking of Sew Hip, I'm proud to say I helped significantly with their "Shop Your Local Business" bottom line! And now I'm sorry I didn't stock up on more. A few more errands and then we hit the freeway for the next 80 miles to Bill's sister's house - delivering some quilts to her and her two daughters. By the time we got home, Scottie and Foxy were dancing for their suppers! We were 2 minutes late!!!
Today is finishing the laundry that I started yesterday morning. I woke up at 3am, remembered our towels were laying on the laundry room floor, so when I got up at 4:30 I got them into the washer immediately so we could have warm towels for showers. My other plan is to start my cards. I LOVE Christmas cards - sending and receiving. Seahawks play today so cards will stop then and I'll move on to CW's during the game. Turkey leftovers are on the menu. Again.
And a wee prayer if you don't mind. We have so many to pray for lately, but I think I'm coming down with a cold! Nine days before my surgery! I haven't had a cold in more than five years - closer to ten yrs. And Maybe I'm just imagining it. So, if you've got tried and true remedies - or even just an idea of how to kick this thing, send them on, please!
Be happy, stay healthy!

Re: Sunday November 30,2025
Blessed Sunday one and all,
Thankful for the 8 plus inches of snow and thankful for DS driving us home safely from the airport yesterday.
We went to Germany with 36 degree weather for last days. We left Germany at 10 pm mid west time Friday night and arrived 130 pm Saturday mid west time to awful snow. DS drove airport in ground stoppage but International flights allowed in. The pilot put it down gently no slipping or sliding hes a pro. Took hour and half to get home and DS was on duty at church at 500 so went directly there and shoveled some areas. Only us three, pastor and usher and a baptism family of 20. Got home to shovel driveway, snow blower hard to work, only working half power but did its job had left over TG dinner and went to bed at 10pm mid west time . Cold this morning, court has not been plowed yet so DS car won't be able to clear the snow in street so may have to take our Tuscon. Dinner will be ham and brocolli casserole in freezer. The snow puts me in Christmas mood a kind of excitement and craziness with only days to accomplish. DS and SIL brought up Christmas tree boxes, 3 and a pencil tree so may put on Christmas carols and will beginning to put up trees this afternoon while the wash machine chugs away. Only one is pre lit. Having fingers crossed, snow blower iffy, Dishwasher un useable and patterns of three often happen, I am hoping not being able to gather leaves for last yard waste pick up is number three and no new problem with appliances.
DH still sleeping, jet lag set in, for me up regular time. Feeling just like a kid with the snow. Will be cold all week and cold stays. Need to make some cozies for the kids but need to go to Hobby Lobby first maybe tomorrow. Will unpack, do laundry and make cookie ingredient grocery list. That's my day so you all are safe and sound. Prayers of course to everyone.
Hugs,
TinaB

Re: Sunday November 30,2025
Good Frigid Morning!!
Warmer in Anchorage than it is here today!!! And we definitely have snow... at my house--probably 6-8" . I should stick my yard stick out on my patio to check!
Today is another "Nana worry day" Bren and Evie are driving back to Rapid City--on a good day about an 8-9hr drive... with snow probably close to 10-11! This Nana does NOT like snowy roads!!!
Lois... Stores weren't too busy where you shopped? I have to hit Target tomorrow and hope it's pretty quiet. I got a Sam's club ad in the mail the other day.... tho I don't dare go back there again--my credit card takes a major hit when I go to Sam's!
Judi.... Lyn does Sashiko and I had to google it to see what it was. It does look really interesting and even be a fun embellishment on quilt blocks... but like you, I don't dare start another hobby. I have no more spare bedrooms to keep supplies! Though I don't suppose templates and thread would take up a lot of room. Not like my yarn stash which is in various baskets around the house. Glad to hear Colleens FIL is about to get about a bit and watch a hocky game.
Flo... OH basset hound! Not beagle!! I don't see too many bassets or beagles around here so I don't I'd know one if I saw one! We bred black labs once upon a time. In fact, one of our females and I were pregnant at the same time. Let me tell you who got the most attention!!! It weren't me!
Maryz... Yes... kids made it home ok... A usual 4 hour drive turned out to be closer to 6. Since I can see Evie's location on my phone I could see where they were and watched the traffic cameras for road conditions. Bren and Evie will head back today, so I'll be doing "laps on the beads" until I see that they have arrived ok. Then I'm sure I'll be a worry wort when they drive home for Christmas. If you are thinking you are getting a cold.... keep going with Vitamin C. Sometimes if I think I'm getting a cold I go to bed with a slug of Nyquil. It seems to help hold it off. I too haven't had a cold in forever! With say a prayer to the Common Cold god!!!
Tinab.... You were in Europe? How cool is that. Were the Christmas markets on in Germany? A couple years ago Shawn & Kris went there for the markets. I guess it's beautiful. You sure had to hit the ground running when you got back. I've heard folks say for every 1 hour of time difference you need that many days to adjust. Hope you can kind of take it easy this week!!
Chriss... Yes I am loving that sink!!! I made a big pot of soup yesterday (another epic fail) but with the deep side of the sink I can soak that pan! My water is very hard here too, even with a water softener. Did you try soaking the shower head? Ah, heck they aren't super expensive, when then get bad... Amazon carries them!
That backsplash in my kitchen is just peel and stick wallpaper!! Somebody was giving it away on our FB Buy Nothing Group! Someday I might do real subway ceramic tile. Next project? Window blinds/curtains. I have ugly dirty beige mini blinds and I hate them! I only have 6 that need replacing.
Bren and Evie just stopped by on their way back to school, so I got my Nana hugs and admit to getting a little schmoopy to see them! They won't be home again until the 20th or so.
Since I did all the chores yesterday, today I think I'll play in the sewing room for a bit. I watched a tutorial on an easy project for a layer cake, so I'm using up another one. Have the blocks pieced and today will get them laid out and put together and with a little luck find something for borders and backing!
Need more coffee!
Wishing you all a great day!

Not good morning!
This will be short, I either food poisoned myself or someone shared the flu with me. Sarah came over to feed Mr G and I'm going back to sleep.
I'll read as I can,

Re: Sunday November 30,2025
Good morning. We have had grey skies for a while now but it's still going to be a beautiful day. I know the sun is up there, and I'd love to see it burn a hole through this high fog so I could see a touch of blue, but it doesn't seem like it will happen today. Seems like not too long ago I was hoping fall would get here. It's like we only have winter and summer anymore. But each is beautiful in their own way.
Took dinner to the parents last night and retrieved some of my dishes. I tell them that I can't refill them if I don't get them back I can't refill them. Dad opened a cupboard and said take as much as I want, guess he's liking being fed.
Lois, I am going to do the cleaning I have been putting off too. Your dinner sounds like a tummy warming meal. Glad you got to shop and avoid the crowds.
Judi, glad the FIL is out and getting around. My shopping is done. I have sent Marilyn a visa gift card, Amazon mails the right to her, I love that. And Elliott has going from one toy to a few toys. Everything should arrive this week. Ryker might like Nerf toys or Leggos.
Flo, what are you xstitching? I thought of you while shopping in a thrift store. There was a 5x7 frame and doilies and embroidery made a lady's skirt, she had a doily parisol and embroidery made her hands, neck etc. really cute.
Maryz, grandma's remedy for a cold was a shot of brandy, of course that was her remedy for everything. Hope yours goes away faster tahn it came. I'm not doing Christmas cards again this year, I've donated all the boxes of cards I found around here. I found that brown paper at the true value hardware store, I rarely use it anymore but have some on hand. Funny about the guilt. I will tell my son something and end it with "and there's your guilt trip" There's a movie with Barbara Strisand, I think it is called guilt trip. It's a great movie.
Tina, glad you're home safely, glad it was pm and not am when you landed. We had ham and broccoli yesterday for dinner, I would love the same mixed in with mac & cheese, but too many carbs and I've eaten so many lately.
Maryq, I need some sort of back splash. I love yours. It will be a while before my kitchen is really how I want it. curious to see what you're making with layer cakes. I seem to choose them over other precut fabric. Sorry the soup didn't turn out well, but yes, that big part of the sink is a pot soakers dream come true.
Jana, sure hope you get to feeling better. I only had food poisioning one time, on a flight from StLouis to Fresno. We ate at the steak n shake and I was sick that whole flight home. It was so miserable, I really feel for you.
Time for breakfast. then to get some things done here. You all have a fab day,
Chriss
