Good morning,
We are in the 70's all week yesterday I had success
But didn't buy because I have a foot problem that I have been ignoring all summer have swelling around my left ankle so I have a podiatrist apt at 10:00 today to see about that I just thought it was due to all the heat that we have been having I guess it's been lazyness on my part so that's where I will be after that will stop and pickup the birthday boys cake 🍰

I haven't sewed anymore on the snowman but will see how far I get when we get back.

As for dinner tonight One of Bill's favorites Party Ham casserole
Well that's all the news from here Everyone have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning,

LOIS - sorry to hear about your swollen ankle. Glad you plan to have that checked out. Mr. Snowman is getting lonely. He wants his 'mom'! And the rest of his body! Today's the big birthday at your house - give your Bill a happy birthday wish from me and my Bill! What constitutes a party ham casserole? Sometimes I add diced ham to scalloped potatoes and even peas. And buttered crumbs on top. Would that qualify?

JUDI - in mind and spirit I am lounging with you on that deck next to the water! I hope your week there is idyllic. I hope the rainy weather lets up, though sometimes, in a cabin such as you describe, it can make for a cozy day. I hope the bears don't get you. We had a bear in camp at 1am once in Alaska. We watched it explore our campsite, climb the stairs to try to get into Gene's camper, then it got our cooler and dragged it into the woods strewing the contents 200 feet into the trees and leaving big toothmarks on the cooler. That cooler was ever after known as The Bear Cooler. He ate what he wanted but punctured our plastic pint bottle of vodka, but fortunately he left it puncture side up so we didn't lose much! So yes, bear spray would have been a good idea!

LYN - So what is this breathing "flaw"? Is it a diagnosed thing or are your relatives just "lazy breathers"? Now you've got me taking deep breaths, too! I remember when you hurt your neck on the gate in TX. I'm marking you on my mind's calendar for a target departure date of Oct 8th-ish. I'd put you on my real calendar but it's so full I can hardly read it now! I hope a visit to Oregon works out for you.

CHRISS - for all you've been through you sound remarkable to me! You continue to amaze me. My dad used to walk his property every day but as he got older and became a "lazy breather" he placed a few old chairs, logs, etc here and there to sit on to rest. You might set a lawn chair halfway on your driveway trek just in case you need to rest for 5 min. Peanut butter added to oatmeal gives it more staying power. I love it. Once in a great while, instead of honey or brown sugar I add a few chocolate chips and I have an instant Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Sort of. And a chicken pot pie for supper seems a good choice. Unfortunately for me, my favorite part is the crust! Did you get to talk to Elliott yesterday for his birthday?

JANA - I also copied my post just in case the site went down when I tried to hit 'submit'. It worked well. I keep two QIAD tabs open on my laptop - yesterday's and today's. I, too, wish you could see your games there in UT. We missed our Seahawks when traveling and we actually, on year, propped Bill's phone on a cardboard box between us to watch a playoff game. I always used to wonder what kind of people would actually watch an entire football game on their phone. Now I know. Then we got Direct TV. We DVR the games, local news, and other shows and we can watch them anywhere we are camped as long as we have internet. So we never miss our football.

TINA B - it's fun to shake it up in the sewing room now and then. An I-Spy baby quilt sounds like a fun change of pace.

LORI - you do get a lot done every day. You reminded me of my BeWitched. I dug it out and have it displayed in my living room. I'm slowly getting a few fall things out around the house.

MARY Q - is today Valerie day?

VAL - is today Mary Q day?

Yesterday I got my back shot. Interesting experience and new to me. He got a little closer to the nerve than he intended, I think, because for just a quick few seconds, I hit the ceiling and my leg kicked up hard. Bill was in the room, too, and told me both doctor and nurse jumped back. (I couldn't see them from my angle on the table). It was reflex action big time! But I think this shot is going to be good. Even my hips feel much better. Though we'll see in a few more days. The proof will be in next week's pudding. But this morning I feel good enough that I plan to go on my walk, albeit a shortened one, and I'm all enthused to get a box of apples and can applesauce, something I haven't done in several years. My achy hands don't hurt so much anymore since I have really cut back on cross-stitch in favor of CW's, so I can peel apples now so it's all systems go on that applesauce. Today I have P.T. and maybe I'll spend a little time on KT Vintage Christmas. And we might wash our sheets. They are really starting to smell like Icy Hot. Weather should be good enough - 74 and sunny - to dry them on the lines. Odd factoid: my cat loves Icy Hot. He burrows into the sheets and against my back sniffing and licking and then gets all crazy - like it's catnip!

On that note, it's time to get the coffee going. And feed the fur folk unless the pool neglected darlings have died of starvation in the time it's taken me to type this.

Over and out!

In Saturday mail-I received a beautiful hand written card and a small "pocket prayer quilt" for both Joe and I to have. It was made and send from Tina "patches 4". We both thank you for this wonderful little remainder of constant support. Joe is having his treatment right now, and in his quilt is in his pocket.

Thank you to everyone who has kept us in your thoughts and prayers.

Good morning!

Quiet and still here. No noisy airplanes or school busses, for the moment.

I got two of three bathrooms cleaned yesterday and the patch sewn on the Army uniform. Even straightened up the pantry in the Batt Cave. Then came up and watched the grandson of our best man from our wedding play football in last night's game. The grandson is a starting wide receiver for the Chicago Bears. The uniform will be picked up around noon.

I have some errands to do. My Highlander needs fuel and a quick run into Costco. I will behave, as the last time I was in Costco, Christmas was being put out. But then again, even though the house has no space left and I've used up the front yard space, I have a new deck, with power that's empty and it can be seen as you drive up the streets to my house, or the church to our east. Humm... yes, my house has a 360 view in the neighborhood. It's kind of perched on a slight hill.

I ordered and they arrived, som new boxes to hold quilt kits. So now I can switch between projects and stay somewhat neat. Those boxes are the Artbin ones, like I got at JoAnn's when they were on sale for half price. I also ordered the new stove parts, they should be here in a week or so. In the mean time, I'm down to two useful burners. There is a third burner, but its a small simmer burner that I rarely use.

Well, the sun finally made it over the mountains and is shining brightly. Time to get dressed,

Hugs,
Jana

Right now DDIL and I are having coffee on porch. No kids, no husbands. It's nice and quiet.
Lois hope ankle heals quickly.

Flo, quiet mornings having coffee on the porch sounds perfect.

Jana, oh the possibilities of Christmas decorations for the deck. I bet it will be quite festive.

Lois, hope there is a fix for the swollen ankle. Happy birthday to Bill. I would like a big slice of that cake please.

Judi, your cabin with the water out front sounds perfect for relaxing except for the Bears. What does Ken do while you sew and read?

Lyn, I imagine it takes time to adjust to elevation. When we go to the local mountains I can feel the difference. They are the same elevation as your place.

Chriss, did you facetime with the little man for his birthday? He's just the cutest little guy ever.

Maryq, where are you?

Valerie, you should be in MN now. Are you meeting with Maryq while your are there. I think Buttermilk Basin shop in near by as well.

Maryz, you'll get to have out your Christmas decorations this year too. I'll wait until autumn arrives to put things out. Today is our first day below 90. We're still in summer mode. Funny that Foxy likes the Icy hot smell. Molly used to get right in my face after I bushed my teeth at night. She liked the minty smell too.
I glad you are feeling a bit better. I make coffee prior to typing anything.

The boys and I did our walk. It's a beautiful morning. Only supposed to get up to 82 today. Yay! 3 weeks of 90's was wearing on me. We were able to open up the house at night though. I loved my first watercolor class. It was about color and value and mixing paint. I enjoyed the people I sat next to as well. It seems like a fun group. I need to pick up a few messes around the house. I tend to leave piles in certain locations. I'm going to play with mixing up some paint just for fun. I also need to get binding on those 2 quilts and figure out how to quilt my BeWitched.

Have a wonderful day.

Good morning. what a beautiful day today will be. white wispy clouds across a beautiful blue sky. I've been able to have the house open most of the day, and only turn on the a/c for a short time. I love the BER months.

Lyn, I often think I am not taking deep enough breaths, and catch myself inhaling deeply and exhaling often. I probably should have gone into the doctor when I noticed myself doing that and could already be recovered from this surgery.

Tinab, thanks for the prayer square and your thoughtful note.

lois, hope the foot is easily fixed. Party ham casserole sounds like fun, it also sounds like it would be a great omelete filling.

Judi, the view out your window sounds beautiful. I hope you get to see a bear from a distance.

Maryz, ugh, coffee. I seem to have no taste for it. I make a pot, pour a cup, reheat the cup, then put the cup in the sink. really glad the shot hit the mark. enjoy that walk, I will go on one soon. Made it to the bottom of the driveway and back yesterday without getting winded. If I can do that twice I can walk down and get the mail. As it is now, I have a man who comes each evening to water and he picks up my mail. I realize I need to give it time but I also need to take my life back and do things myself. I wasn't overjoyed with the chicken pot pie, there just wasn't much gravy. Probably won't be having another one so don't buy stock in that company, their sales are dwindling by one.

Jana, with all that organizing and such I think you deserve to get yourself a treat for the deck at Costco.

Lori, I didn't get facetime but got lots of pictures instead. Richard has a step brother and a half brother and one of them has a baby. They all got together for the birthdy along with their wives.

Now, I've had my breakfast and dad has already called to check on me. I need to take a shower and go through paperwork. The radiology people want their money and frankly, I haven't even looked at paperwork yet, that will be my task today.

I have restarted my counter project and they will come measure next week and get it moving. I will be glad to have that done. then I can think about paint.

no clue what dinner will be. but I do know I won't starve.

You girls have a groovy day
