Good morning,
Days are flying by fast I realized I haven't been on here in a couple of days well to be honest when I tried to get on here the sight wouldn't let me so I just forgot about it.
Thursday Olivia spent some time here she cut my hair we had lunch together and she went home about 2:30 she also put Life 360 on mine and bills phone this way we can keep track of each other now they know when we are on the road and vice versa.
Yesterday I took a break from sewing and cleaned the house and Bill cut the lawn.
Today I'm sewing and that will be my day.
I don't know about dinner will have to figure it out.
Well I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois.

Morning all,
Lois I also didn't get to post yesterday. Friday is my baby's day, and I also had the little toddlers older brother. Add to that I couldn't sleep Thursday night, it was a long day.
Today I will get back to cutting and muslin backing the teddy bear pieces.
Have a greatcday
Flo

Good morning I was up early cleaned up a little in the bathroom and dusted the top of my sewing cabinet storage, Today will be yard work. and a trip to the grocery store for a few things, My middle son has been here cleaning up the years of neglect in the acre of yard,,,We let it go wild (Lack of time and lack of ability) He decided it needed to be cleared and now some of our flora and fluana can thrive. it looks better and hoping less mosquitos with all the brush cut down...we still have to do the front of the house and fences along the lower yard, Storms knocked down a good sized tree on to the fence it needs to be cut into firewood,
I am working on the quilt as much as I can,,,after all the fun stuff is done outside I will try to get the third part of the block sewn...then assembly...I can't wait for it to be done...Finished is good.
Im off to the kitchen to see what needs to be done, Might havr to put a loaf of bread on today. It goes fast.
Hope you all have a great day. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Re: Saturday July 19,2025
Good morning,
LOIS - there you are! I was starting to worry. The site has been sluggish this past week. Hopefully that will no longer be a problem. You got a haircut yesterday? I'm getting mine today. Was going to wait until first week of Sept before we leave on our trip, but it's just been growing too quickly. I'll still need that Sept cut. Sometimes we have to take a day off to ''refresh" the house. But it feels so good after it's done.
FLO - Are you backing all those bear pieces individually or did you back the larger piece of fabric cut from the shirt first and then cut out the pieces? Curious about your methods for this project. How many bears are you making?
CHRISS - things do seem to be moving quickly for you. That's a good thing. I think when they know someone has a problem, appts go faster. I hope they can opt for the least invasive procedure. But you do know the real worry here is who is going to feed Moose. He can't live on snakes and squirrels forever. And it sounds as if he and Scottie are stinky twins. But Scott got his bath and now he's a fluff ball. Washed his hair and now he can't do a thing with it. KItchen sink? I have 2-sided stainless steel sink. The right is larger, the left is smaller. The smaller has a rack in the bottom and I use it mostly for thawing meat or draining large items that I've hand-washed. In the trailer I wash dishes in the smaller sink and the drainer sits in the larger sink so it doesn't clutter the limited counterspace. As for the trendy new "farm sinks", they look nice but IMHO are a waste. If you fill them, it takes too much water so you have to use a dishpan, which equates to a smaller sink anyway. Plus you don't get a second sink. So, that's my sink discourse. You asked!
LORI - How much renovation will you be doing? Carpet? Flooring? Bathrooms? Our house is in serious need of updating, but if the developers end up buying it they'll just tear it down so why should we put $$ into it until we know one way or another? And right now, except for the carpeting (11 yrs old), I'm OK with it as it is. I need updating, too, but I'll live with me the way I am. We had breakfast for supper last night, too. A scramble of homemade shredded hashbrowns, sliced kielbasa, onions, peppers, and eggs. Yum!
JUDI - your doc is tough! My doctor says for people of a "certain age" she likes a BP a little higher. She also said older people do a little better if they carry and extra 10-15 pounds. I like my doctor and am working hard to keep her happy!
I take Losartan and Atorvastatin and the Rx directions say to take my meds at night. You take yours in the morning? How was the Olive Garden? That is one of Bill's very favorite restaurants. I rarely salt food after cooking. And I usually use less than what recipes call for. I've heard pink salt is more flavorful so therefore you don't need quite as much. But I don't think it's iodized. And most people are iodine deficient and so our choice is iodized salt. I'm glad your son is helping with the yard. It must be so nice to see it looking spiffy again!
VAL - we've never had dental insurance. We looked into it when Bill retired 25 years ago and the options available then would have cost us more over time for premiums than it would for the occasional dental work we've needed. Not sure nowadays how it would work out though. I just paid $1500 for my crown. But other than cleanings and XR's I haven't had any work done for 14 years until now. I should add that Bill has cleanings here but fillings, crowns done in Algodones, Mexico, across the border from Yuma. He's been seeing a lady dentist there for 17 years. For a fraction of American costs.
LYN - congrats on the fish! You must keep them alive until the end of your fishing day, that you would put that single guy back. Thanks for testing my pattern!
MARY Q - you're home!!! Yay!! I missed you! Glad you found some fabrics. At $2/yd I'd probably have taken it all. Perhaps you did??
Did you get to see Mt. Denali when you went to Talkeetna? She is shy and only out about 25% of the time, but that viewpoint along the Talkeetna Road has a great view. The river is the Susitna. (Sue SIT Nuh). It has two forks and they are called the Big Su and the Little Su.
JANA - I do believe Parkinsons and the dementia associated with it falls under the Lewy Body Syndrome umbrella. My brother, Jim, had Parkinsons, and his thinking wasn't always the clearest, but he was always able to hold clear conversations, give good advice, and make jokes. He never lost his sharp sense of humor or his sense of compassion. He did have hallucinations that often got him into trouble, but his meds caused those. Glad you are starting to feel normal again. You don't have to go back to dentist for a few months?
Yesterday was a full up day. I had chiropractor appt at 0900. On the way home I stopped at the church rummage sale and picked up a bag of stuff I could probably have lived without - a puzzle for my sister, 2 tee shirts, 2 sweaters, a red/black buffalo plaid shirt with fleece lining, and some other treasures that i can't even remember now. It was donation only and my bag was full so I gave them $30. This necessitated a fifth load of laundry when I got home. Then I got Baby Clothes quilt ready for the LA, pieced the backing (unicorn fabric), and made the binding. I still had time in my afternoon to bind BeWitched. I'm pretty sure I shared a photo of that and my Ohio Star earlier this spring. I made the blocks for both last winter while in Texas. So today's plan is to load the baby clothes quilt, start my LOTR blocks. I will make four, maybe five, 7" FPP blocks, which will take me several days. And later today I'll walk to my haircut. It is located in a small business center that can be accessed from the wooded paved walking trail close to our house. Bill and Scott will walk with me. Scott loves this walk as there's lots of small wildlife to chase and bark at.
Supper tonite is going to be beef stroganoff and broccoli. Tomorrow is Bill's birthday so we will be going out and inviting friends, Tex & Annette, to go with us. If they can't go we'll go to our "B List".
Happy Caturday!

Good morning!
Another cloudy thunderstorm day. We had a nice one last night and will probably get one today. Daniel is spraying a bunch of weeds - morning glory or sometimes known as knot weed. I hate the stuff. Daniel has a special license and training to use the good stuff that really kills it. My lawn company is on the verge of being replaced. Not doing all they're supposed to.
Not much new here. Just puttering around. I do need to mop floors. We'll see.....
Chriss - with getting a new sink - check the gauge of the stainless steel and take your favorite bowl, pan, baking whatever, to see how it fits in the sink area. I had a big pan and that determined which sink I got. I really like Kohler brand enameled double sinks that are deep! My favorite was the one in my Concord house, which was 2/3 wide on one side, the other third, slightly shallower, with the garbage disposal in it. It was perfect to fit my big things. And it was a under mount. That means the edge didn't sit on the counter, you could wipe the counter straight into the sink, with no lip in the way. And water didn't get to the laminate to swell the underlayment. So there you go.
Well, time to scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

Jana, lawn companies and cleaning services seem to do a good job for a short time and then start slacking off. That happened with my dad and I just fired them and hire new yard care services.
Cleaning crew as well. Hope you have a little more get up and go today.
Maryz, just kitchen counter tops and back splash, oven, range top and sink. Then in the front/living room we'll redo the fire place and carpet. More than half of the house is porcelain tile and won't need to be replaced for a long time.
Judi, it's nice to have family to help with things as we get older.
Flo, Happy birthday. Was yesterday your birthday or next Friday? Seems like the sleepless nights are a common thing around here.
Lois, enjoy your sewing day.
Maryq, what are you up to today?
Chriss, you have a lot going on right now. Make sure and take a breath once in a while.
Our weather is so out of whack. It's overcast and cool again this morning. It will clear and be in the low 80's later. Very unusual for July. I have a binding to hand sew down. Will do that later tonight. Don't know what's for dinner just yet.
Have a lovely day.

Good morning Girls
Man oh man!! it is so sticky here today!!! You can just feel the humidity in the air! But alas, it's not hot, so no need to turn on the AC! It sure is great to be home!
Lois.... Now that your Beautiful Butterfly quilt is done...What are you going to be sewing on next?
Flo.... I saw your FB post with the teddy bear pieces? I can't remember, was the fabric from someone's shirts? MANY years ago there was a gal in our little group that made and sold the teddy bears--I bought a couple from her, but who knows where they are now---probably for the grandkids and they have since outgrown them.
Judi.... One of the advantages of living in a town house---I don't have to worry about yard work ! How nice that your son is coming to the rescue to clean up places around your yard. What quilt are you working on now?
Maryz... To tell you the truth, I probably did see Mt. Denali, but was too busy hanging on for dear life as David was driving!! I admit to being the worlds worst passenger! On the way back I sat in the back seat as Jen drove. Love Amara's quilt!! How hard is that going to be to quilt on the LA?
Jana.... I read back a couple days to see the news of Mr. G! I'm so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you and I know the a bit of the road you have before you. I had a sink that was 2/3 to 1/3 and I LOVED it!! IF I ever get to redo my kitchen, I'm going to do the same thing. I had a "Swanstone" sink--that was white--that I loved when it was clean--but think I'd go stainless with NO lip as well!!
Chriss.... Oh man, I'm going to have to get out my Mom's Rosary Beads and start "doing some laps". I'm trying to catch up with all the news here, but I'm sure not liking some of the news I've read!! You know, we got your back and will be sends all good thoughts that all goes well for you.
Lori... Sorry the new guild didn't work out for you. I had thought of joining a local guild here, but they meet at 9:am... and I know I'd never get my butt up, showered, and dressed and out of the house in time. Besides---all of us here are like a little guild right?
So yesterday I got all my new fabric washed and all my clothes washed (except there might be a load still in the dryer) Viv came up to celebrate Brenne's 21st birthday yesterday and brought me a quilt she had done for me, so with a little bit of luck, I'll get the binding on it today and attach while I watch TV tonight.
For now I need more coffee and should get in gear--finish up that laundry and organize all the fabric I brought home. Jen still has to mail me a box of more fabric!
It's great to be home and to be back here with y'all.

Re: Saturday July 19,2025
Good barely morning. It's already hot outside but the blessing is that in the evenings it cools down enough for me to open my windows.
I have some misc. chores to do but my day is pretty much free. I think I will make some crock pot granola.
Lois, I love the name Olivia. Such a cute name for a little girl and a sophisticated name for a lady of any age. She clearly loves her grandma. A friend of mine has Alzheimer's and her daughter asked me to put life360 on my phone so I could track her if needed. I live closer than she does. It's good to be tracked.
Flo, I think your bears are adorable.
Judi, Sure wish you were here doing the dusting. I need to do the ceiling fans and oscillating fans. How nice to have a live in gardener. Will your granddaughter also come to stay?
Maryz, aren't church rummage sales the best? Rummage sales and estate sales are my favorite. I like your doctor too. I have good blood pressure but it's always been on the lower side, I had one doctor tell me to use salt. And I have those extra pounds. Although the weight chart tells me a weight I haven't been since high school, and it will never happen again. I will have someone come feed Moose, no worries. I also won't likely be gone over night. I won't neglect the snake slayer.
Jana, I knew about the gauge but hadn't thought of taking a big pot or bowl to see how it works in a sink, great idea. My current sink is a whopping 6 inches deep, I'm going to get a 9inch because that's the deepest i've seen. My current sink also is more rounded and not square. I want square basins. You've given me something to think about with the two sides, ugh, more research. I am my own gardener and I also need to be replaced.
Lori, are you doing the remodel at the parents house or your house. When you are all done which house will you live in? It's fun to be you, picking out colors and thinking about how it will all look. You are going to love your new digs.
Maryq, it's not sticky here but it will get into the 90's, we have a dry heat. Think desert. Thanks for lapping the beads for me. Yesterday when I was on my way to get my preop stuff done a van passed me and painted on it was "Trust Jesus" Glad you're home, It's always good to be home.
No clue what dinner will be. I bought a pineapple and some strawberries. I also have bananas and watermelon, perhaps a fruit salad will be good to have for dinner.
You all have a fun day,
Chriss
