Good morning I has an entire post typed up and it is gone now.
I have a bunch of stuff to do today, taking my DDIL to therapy and a few other stops including to get a few things at the meat market, Mhy DDIL is doing well...She works very hard at excersizing and therapy. Last Dr visit showed no new lesions from her progressive MS..that is great news. Her goal is to get out of her wheelchair and we pray for that to happen.
I did cut out some of the new quilt and if I can get back to the sewing room I will cut more. I cut the entire quilt out before I sew. ( sometimes have to make a sample block just to be sure but this is a very simple quilt block..I need to make 15 of them. I also need to make a few QOV blocks..and I think I will do this same block but in the 12x12 size we use for the QOV quilts. While I was up north they presented yet another QOV to a career veteran who is very sick with lung disease he got while deployed...but he was thrilled with his quilt, I was sorry to miss it/
Last night my neighbor brought over zucchini for zucchini bread ( hint hint) its that time again...so I will try to get to that tomorrow. Its always something,,,
Off I go to get coffee and see what chores I can to this mornong before I run out ( have to wait for things to open..Dont you think they should open earlier than 9 or 10 for us quilters who need to get done early LOL
Have a wonderful day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

Judi I vote yes like 8:00 in the morning but I guess they can't afford to have employees come in that early.

Good morning,

LOIS - your butterfly quilt was beautiful! I've never seen that pattern before. I like it a lot! But happy to see Mr. Snowman is back on the work table! Happy birthday to your sister, Rosie. You mean you have never been to her house or just haven't been to celebrate her birthday? Does she live far away? Do you ever go to visit Delores?

JUDI - I'm with you! A lot of things here don't open until 10am. What a waste of good morning hours! I'm up at 5 and ready to rock and roll by 7. (Sounds energetic, doesn't it!). I'm really happy to hear your DDIL is doing well. She is a fighter!
P.S. You did it! You broke my resolve! I caved! I bought the KT VCS kit. Just now. Next thing you know, I'll be pulling out my Cathedral Windows. This quilting method has always stymied me, and I've vowed to figure it out 'some day'.

JANA - good call, staying home yesterday. Autumn had mandibular advancement surgery when she was 16. Her face was the shape of an egg plant with swelling and the bruising all went south as far as her chest! For a week or more. Congratulations to Ethan! And to the family raising such a great young man! And to think we all "knew him when"... and remember when we were anxiously awaiting his arrival!! :D

VAL - I don't think I know about your Blue Stars quilt - though as I have proven before, I could have forgotten all about it. The only blue quilt I can think of is when your DH found some blue fabric in a shop that he really liked and bought. Did you finish your Mariners Star? That Vintage Christmas Sampler is tempting, but so far I'm resisting.
P.S. update on that. I am no longer resisting.

LYN - Any further updates from your Texas neighbors? I understand a lot more rain has been falling and more flooding is happening. Glad you and Minnie got some outdoor reading time. I use Libby app on my phone to download audiobooks. Our county library has 19 branches, plus I can download from Autumn's two libraries. Magazines, too. Of course, not every book is converted to audio, so this doesn't work if you want a specific non-converted book but you can still download books to read on your screen.

LORI - Which quilt are you quilting? It's hard work quilting them on your machine. My neck just can't take it for more than a tablerunner.

CHRISS - I didn't realize your chair was even a little chair, let alone an heirloom chair. Now I understand why you were so determined to salvage this particular chair! How special!! Have you done any sewing lately?

MARY Q - Did you get much when you went back to the next-day-sale the other day? Can you fit it all into your suitcase or will you have to mail a package to yourself? If you do mail a package, mail your heaviest stuff to lighten your suitcase that you have to haul around. Did you check your bag or just use a carry-on?

Yesterday I finished Amara's baby clothes quilt and posted a photo. Glad to have that finished!! I'll figure out how to quilt it later. Bill has my red/white Ohio Star half quilted so I'll be making binding for that soon out of leftover backing fabric. He has one more to quilt - BeWitched. Then I'll do the ABC quilt and the queue will be empty! But today - I'll finish up my Christmas Swap blocks. Merry Q will be back in town by Friday and ready to receive blocks from anyone who is ready to send early. Deadline is still 6 weeks away.

So, OK - since I started this post, I read that Judi found the KT Vintage Christmas kit for $225 at Rossville Quilts. And I've succumbed to temptation and ordered it. I have only ordered 2 kits in my entire quilting life. But I have no fabrics that would really suit this project and keep it "vintage", plus it will be easy to pack in the trailer for Texas sewing. So I don't plan to start it until we land in Texas about Thanksgiving time. When Judi posted that she found it for $225 at Rossville Quilts, I couldn't help myself. And my enabler said, "Order it." and gave me his credit card. Being an obedient wife, I complied. Just to please my man!

I'm trying to figure out supper for tonite. So far, all I'm coming up with is grilled chicken, baked potato and salad. It sounds a bit boring, but nice and easy. My kind of cooking!

have a good day!

Good morning!

It's bright, sunny and getting warm. Upper 90 isn't too bad.

Had a fun dinner with the kids last night. I even ate a bit of rib! Aaron chopped the meat 8nto a fine cut for me. Sounds silly, but we used my ricer and ran a serving of potato salad through that so I could eat. Kate even made plain jello. But I was tired in about 30 minutes, so came back home. I can barely last 1 round in the boxing ring with a baby kitten! Kitten wins easily. Speaking of kitties, Daniel has found two, same litter and has been interviewed for their adoption. Very sweet faces. 9ne cream color with rusty markings and the other a gray striped tabby. The cream one already has a Daniel name, if they get her, Cuda. Yes, after a hot rod car. Karlie will come up with names as well. She names everything! Especially her stuffies, stuffed animals.

I'm hoping for a bit of entropy. I need laundry done. Mr G hasn't destroyed my kitchen, a good thing. But he's trying to be helpful and rearrange things. For too many years to remember, I place my dirty dishes in a certain side, to scrape, rinse and load. Now, Mr G is trying a new place to start that process, totally backwards! But I'll let him, and slowly sabotage that idea, I'm not beneath such tactics, until he sees it doesn't work. My way has a efficiency streak and I'm lazy, so efficiency is necessary.

Going to try fix breakfast and get back in my routine. Time for once is moving slow, it's day 5 since surgery. Not that long

Hugs,,
Jana

Good morning, things are moving very ssssllllooowww this morning on my internet. Wasn't sure I would be able to get on the site. But here I am.

Jana I was not able to find the BYU channel on this new device, but then again it is not easy to find a lot of things. I did this AM find our usual news channel. I don't watch it too often but do like to hear the weather. I have found with men, it is often best to let them find out it doesn't work their way.

Maryz the Blue Stars is synonomous (sp) with Blueberries and Cream. Easier to say blue stars. I have mentioned it several times I think. I have not finished the Mariner's Star becasue many squirrels showed up and I have went other directions. I do know where it is though and I will get back to, just not sure when. The Christmas quilt is difficult to resist. Wish I had found it cheaper though. So glad your enabler stepped in. I suspect mine won't be done with this Christmas but that's okay.

Judi it really is frustrating to loose your whole post. There is a key (wish I knew which one) that if you hit it, it is gone. I have not made Zucchini bread in a long time. Where we live, the air tends to be moist and most zucchini plants get a powdery mildew on them and eventually kills the plant. After fighting that for several years we just gave up. The gentleman who owns the nursery said unless we have an area in the yard that gets sun most of the day, it isn't worth it. They aren't that expensive at the store.

Lois love your Butterfly quilt. I knew you were working on one but didn't picture anything in my mind. It is quite nice.

Chriss missed you yesterday, looking forward to update on the chair. I ha missed that it was a small chair and heirloom also. See what happens when I don't pay attention.

Well, the tooth still hurts and since I have the insurance all worked out with the right dentist I need to get that phone call made. Also need to get ready for MAD Monday. (charity day at Vacaville shop). I have a pinwheel quilt started so will work on that today. Temps mostly mild this week but heating up towards the end.

Have a great day!

Maryz, hahaha...I knew you would want to do the Christmas sampler. Valerie is a bad influence. I'm working on a color wave quilt. It's bright and cheery.

Valerie, have fun sewing. Hope the dentist can fix your tooth.

Judi, I hate when that happens. The other day I lost a couple sentences and don't even know what happened. Hope you DIL reaches her goal.

Jana, those kitties sound really cute. I'm sure Mr. G means well. He's just looking to be more efficient even though he's not.

Lois, I love your butterfly quilt.

Jack and I had our walk. Now to get busy. I need to run the vacuum and dust a bit. Seems like this is a constant. The price I pay for having the house open. I will try and finish up the quilting today and find some binding. I made this one from my stash, so hopefully I find something that goes well. Dinner will be something simple since it's line dancing tonight.

Have a lovely day.
