Morning
Maryz, I make chicken cacciatore in crockpot as well.
Wesig, I grew up in a 4 bedroom house with 4 brothers, 2 sisters, my parents, & grandma. I cherish the memories.
Chriss, I make steaks in my electronic fry pan and my Foreman grill. I prefer the Foreman grill.
Yesterday roofer came by to double check color of shingles. He finally ordered them. Arggggg.
Today I am going to try a new jam recipe, strawberry chocolate. You cannot can it. Needs to be used within a month. Plus I will spend Morning weeding.
Have a sew great day

Good morning,
Well yesterday was pretty much a washout, didn't do much of anything. I was able to get assigned to a dentist under Kaiser Senior Adv so will be hoping to get an appointment soon. Some of the cutting is done for my DGS quilt and I goofed off most of the rest of the day. Temps are going to go up by about 10 degrees today so AC will go on early. I was able to get through yesterday without it. Need to not be lazy today and get to some quilting.
Lois happy quilting, stay cool.
Flo I have looked at those Foreman grills a number of times but have never bought one. Not sure why? My last round of new roof did not go as planned either. Hoping your roofer gets it done soon.
Maryq guess you are in Alaska? Is it cool there?
Lori the KT christmas quilt is nice I think but one of those have to pay attention patterns. Things will have to be sewn together correctly so it all fits together in the end. I am thinking I will shoot for next year finish. WE will see.
Chriss can't wait to see the new "little chair".
Maryz I was up at 3:45 this AM and am still up. It may be a nap today although I try not to do that or I don't sleep at night.
Nothing much new here. DH taking the RV in to see if they can find the valve leak or whatever it is so it will pass smog. Not looking forward to that bill.
Guess I will go find some breakfast, my tummy is telling me "feed me!" Have a great day everyone.

Re: Thursday july10,2025
Good morning,
FLO - I'm so sorry your shingles haven't been ordered yet. How disappointing! Another chicken cacciatore fan! Yay! We love it. It's so quick and easy and a great company supper.
LOIS - happy quilting! I hope your butterfly is done today. It's a beauty! But then everything you make is beautiful!
JANA - I thought about you off and on all day and even came and checked to see if there was an update posted. How was yesterday for you? And how was your BP through it all? How many implants are you getting? Did you have broth for supper?
LORI - I can't imagine having two yards to take care of. I've pretty much given up on just the one! Maybe I need more vitamins. Or liniment.
CHRISS - I'm glad your chair is done. I didn't realize it was a little chair for Elliott. I thought it was just A chair. Are you going to finish it now? Did you go thrifting? Find any goodies? Have you checked Costco for countertops? They did ours (10 yrs ago), were much cheaper, and did the work nearly immediately. If I were by myself I wouldn't buy a BBQ either. Too much trouble to light briquets for one. And if a gas BBQ, I wouldn't be hauling propane tanks around. Broiling works fine or frying them in a cast iron skillet which I believe adds to the flavor. It's how Gordon Ramsey does it. And if it's good enough for Gordon, it's good enough for me.
VAL - well, the circumstances may not be great but congratulations on a new baby in your family. And a little girl! This calls for another baby quilt! Is this the Reno/Sparks family? I'm glad you found another dentist but hope you don't really need him/her. How is your tooth feeling? I don't think I"d like a kit where I had to cut everything up front - and only had limited fabric. I've cut an entire quilt before, cut some wrong, and had to buy more fabric. So I do what I call a 'tug test' first. With our RV, we do a 'tug test' - a slight pull after hitching up to make sure the hitch is secure and correctly attached. (because once it wasn't!!). So I like to cut and sew a single block first to make sure I'm cutting everything correctly - aka, a sewing 'tug test'.
JUDI - it sounds like you all are having a great relaxing week! From here I can hardly tell you are gone! I love going to different quilt shops! Maybe you can find more . . .?
LYN - how's things? Fishing? Weather? Sewing? Mosquitos?
MARY Q - if you check in, you are being missed!
Yesterday I got our supper into the crockpot, saw the chiro, and Bill helped clean the house. I was at my sewing machine before noon. Got in a bit of ABC sewing, then our friends showed up about 2pm. They got their trailer parked, slide out, power and water hooked up and the visiting began! We always love being with Jay & Jackie. Today they are going to do some errands while I'm going for a massage. Any extra free time I'll work on Amara's ABC quilt. Tonite for supper we're going out for Mexican food so no cooking for me!
Wishing all y'all a Terrific Thursday! And special thoughts being sent to JANA, I hope you are feeling OK.

Hi!
I'm still here. Slept until a few minutes ago. My face is very swollen. Will goback today or tomorrow for what is called the healing teeth for the next 4 months, then I get the permanent 9nes. I'm like the star dragon in how to train your dragon movie, toothless! Headache from the anesthesia, but doing 9k I think.
Hugs,
Jana

Judi, I can’t believe you are coming home already. I had you down for at least a week and it seems like you’ve only been gone for two days. But so glad you found new Quilt chops and Good Fabric,.
Jana, glad to hear you are still with us! How many teeth are you working with there?

Good morning. It's going to be a hot rest of the week.
I picked up my little chair yesterday. I was just so happy with it. I need to do a little sanding on the seat where there is a rough spot. The chair started out black, then was white with blue accents and finally yellow. I'm thinking white with blue trim.
After that I hit some thrift stores. Spent a grand total of $12. I bought a clothes pin bag for the line and then went to the SPCA thrift store, they always have quilting stuff. Got some books and magazines.
Last night was the farmers market and then $10 burgers. I have to say I wasn't as happy with dinner as I used to be, I guess they were having an off night. Oh well, I will give them another shot, and I do now have my peaches so all is good.
There are maybe 20 vendors at our little farmers market. Not all are food. The library had a booth and were giving away battery things to charge your cell phone. It was also kids day. Each kid gets $5 fake dollars to spend on whatever they want at the market. Soon it will be senior day and I will get the same perk. Pretty much I just go there to get peaches.
Today it's odd jobs. I want to paint my address pole. It's a wood pole that Jerry made and looks like a relators post. The old paint is worn off, I bought a sample jar of white paint at Lowes. It will be good enough. I have a set of wind chimes that the string broke and the clacker thing fell off, and I am sure I will find other chores while I am working on these.
But first, breakfast. Dinner will be the chicken strips I didn't fry up yesterday. you all have a fun dy

Thunderstorms moving thru and windy.
Jana, I'm glad the removal is behind you. Was it tops, bottoms or all teeth. Garry had his uppers removed, 4 implants and temp teeth installed in one day. He was on a liquid diet for a month. I would make a chuck roast and veggies in the crock pot, then puree some in the Vitamix. It wasn't pretty but it had all the favors and he enjoyed it. Jello, yogurt and protein drinks got old fast.
Yesterday looked like a fishing day. Garry was actually up at 10 and got a shower before me. When I was ready, he was asleep in his recliner. I asked if he'd eaten, no. He seemed a little off, not acting quite right. I asked if he wanted to fish or go to Big John's for lunch, then come back and take a nap. Lunch and nap won. It's good we did that because I talked to friends later, they go out early, but coming in at 2 it was white caps on the bays. Don't like to fish and especially boat in that.
I will work on my friend's labels today. The friends I spoke with yesterday told me about the place they store their boat, so I will call there. Of course Minnie and I will get in a couple walks, she loves snooping around the Resort and leaving pee mail.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Re: Thursday july10,2025
Good morning from Anchorage! Everybody else is still sleeping so I have a few moments to check in. Since it stays light here until almost midnight, we all seem to stay up later than normal!
The weather has been perfect. Yesterday Eli and I had a fun day with just the two of us. Lunch at IHOP—I’ve never been to an IHOP before. It was good of course but an expensive adventure! After that’s we went to Freddie’s and picked up some groceries.
Today will are going to a place called “Anchorage Remade” a giant thrift store ! David and Jen both love hunting for vintage things that they can repurpose and sell. From a picture on the I web site, they even have a craft and fabric section! So you know where I will be! Jen’s paintings fill the walls here and when I get home I will try share some of it.. there’s a few paintings I would love to sneak into my suitcase

Later on this afternoon Eli has a soccer game so. Last night I have a private clarinet concert by Eli. He was in honor band at school last and plays beautifully.
We are going to take a little day road trip somewhere but Jen hasn’t told me where!
Wishing you all a great day. I’ll peek in when I can!
