Good morning Steamy here,,we will go to 90 today and 95 tomorrow. We have a graduation party today hoping it doesn't storm.
I finished the wool runner last night so now to decide what project will be next. I might have to get some weeding done outside before I sew anything more. The hot wet weather has been wonderful for the weeds. With this heat we can only work outside for short spells. But it will get done...
Hope where ever you are the weather is to your liking. We are in for heat for the next 2 weeks. The only bad part about the heat is the mosquitos love it too and me.
Have a wonderful weekend XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning
Today is go home day. Provided our slide will come in. Otherwise it’s going to be stay in Walla Walla day waiting for a repair man to fit us in. Crossing fingers. Had a bit of insomnia last night and then terrible leg cramps. They just came in long waves. My calf is sore this morning. This is what I get for neglecting to drink enough water.
Judi, we are in a cooling trend here into the 60s and rain for several days but we will be back to 70s and maybe a few 80s by Wednesday. But at least - at home anyway - very few mosquitoes. And did you know that is a genetic trait? Mosquitoes loved my mom, but they wanted nothing to do with my dad. Unfortunately, I am in genetically disposed to being tasty to mosquitoes. Thanks mom. Have fun at the graduation party. Congrats on finishing your table runner. What will be next besides weeding?
Valerie, hope you can figure out a route. Those darn great lakes get in the way of a straight shot across the country. I have a friend who loves big city life and just doesn’t understand why we don’t want to drag our trailer into Chicago and shop at all the cute stores and see concerts and eat in restaurants, etc. But then I don’t understand why she DOES want to do all that.
Mary Q, how was babysitting little Nora yesterday? The problem with babysitting the really little ones is they sleep so much so you don’t get to snuggle them and hold them and play with them.
Jana, good save on sorting the shirts. Don’t suppose he would go for a garment bag to store the out of season shirts in the other closet.? Keeps them clean and dust, free and ready for cold weather.
Chriss, your little barbecue looks perfect. Have you used it yet? I hope since you will be gone on July 4 that moose can stay inside. The fireworks go off all day long-the noisemakers, etc. in our area. Even though they are against the law. It really freaks out Scotty and Foxy.
Carol, great to see you again! Good tip on satin stitching. I have the M bobbins, but my machine has a stitch just for satin stitching and I use it rather than a zigzag like I did on my old machine. It looks much better. I also found that the stitching looks nicer and more even if you do not go slow slowly. I tried to keep an even pace..
Lori, what’s on tap at your house today?
Yesterday was a great day to wrap up our time here. Two really great wineries, leisurely tastings, separated by an even better Mexican lunch. A little hole in the wall restaurant. For supper everyone came to our campsite and we had a big charcuterie “table“. Everybody brought something and I had enough Small blankets to pass out to everybody to snuggle in their chairs because it got a little chilly.
This morning after coffee, I’m going to shower, stow away everything inside, Bill is going to dump the tanks and the very last thing we’re going to say a little prayer to the RV patron Saint, (which I am going to put RVs under Saint Christopher‘s umbrella ). Hoping our slide goes in. We have 300 miles to home.
Y’all have a great day. I will probably be able to check in on my phone.
Hugs!
Mz

Good HOT Morning!!
Gosh I hope Alexa is wrong--she says we are going to hit 97* today!! When I left the house yesterday I closed it all up and turned on AC! Sure was glad when I got home that it was cooler in here. It's incredibly humid up here which makes it even worse!
Judi... Last night was the first night I noticed mosquitos here too! I heard that even Alaska was getting some heat advisories, but up there, they panic when it gets up to 72 or so. If it's 95 in Michigan, I'd say to heck with the weeds.
Maryz.... Am crossing my fingers this morning that your slide goes in smoothly so that you can get Though being stuck in Walla Walla maybe wouldn't be all bad? There are worse places to be stuck I suppose. It was fun to babysit Miss Norah. I'd forgotten how floppy babies are. She ate and slept and was awake for a little while. Meaghan was able to go get groceries and you know how much easier that is without a newborn to haul--especially on a hot hot day!
Chriss... Did you get a lunch on your trip to the Dr with friend yesterday? $4.50 for a soda? Yikes, you can buy a whole 6 pack or even a 12 pack for less than that. But then again a restaurant needs to make a profit to pay employees etc. You do a 2 &1/2 hour drive to kids and back in one day?? That's 5 hours on the road!! I bet Mr. Elliott is getting super big and probably has sprouted a few teeth by now!
Lyn... Glad you make it safely across the border. Where do you cross? Hope you catch a lot of fish---are you able to bring some frozen coming back in to the US ? Not sure what the rule is about what you can bring back. I do love some really good walleye!
Today is Evie's grad party, so in a while I'll get myself showered and dressed and see if I can go help get stuff set up. Viv is here and she brought back the Alaska quilt all done for me, so maybe this morning I'll get that trimmed and find some binding for it. I don't think I have enough of the quilt fabric for the binding, but have lots of plain white. You can never have too much white! I was thinking about carrying up to AK in a few weeks when I go to visit, but it's really heavy, so maybe I'll wait until Jen comes home next year.
Keep cool every one! and don't forget to hydrate!!

Good morning!
Well my hot went east! We were 100 and today the high is 75. Tomorrow too. Whiplash weather! Then we'll climb up to hot again.
Sarah texted me yesterday. Just to make sure if I saw the news about a accident in Yellowstone that closed the road for hours, it wasn't them. The accident happened just ahead of them, by a few minutes and closed the road for 5 hours. They turned around and figured another route back to the campground. They'll be home late today or tomorrow morning.
My other kids are out and off too. Some are doing a pioneer trek, pulling a handcart in the Martin's Cove area of Wyoming. Just a trek of a few miles. They are off and running with activities this summer. Camping, youth camps, and work. All over the state!
I did succeed on that name. Changed to a heavy weight stabilizer and it worked. So that's out of my hair! I keep telling me, no more doing that, but that me ignores the other me and I say yes. What to do with me!
I learned a new trick. With Sarah gone, I needed to change the blood sugar monitor on Mr G's arm. I have skipped out, playing dumb, not wanting to do that, but alas, it fell to me last night. Nothing hard, just getting everything to talk to each other. Managed it on the first try. Now I will have to do it all the time. Rats! Hate it when a old dog learns a new trick!
So not much else here. I think OWL will get some attention today.
Chriss - with the new small grill, i have seen, in the past, small trays of ready to go briquettes, just lit and cook. Rather than a huge bag to deal with.
Hugs,
Jana

And I’m back. We are on the road! Our slide did go in this morning though it didn’t go in quite right. Which means it probably will not go back out when we get home, but Bill can either fix it or call a repair man if it turns out he can’t. At least we will be home.
Jana, you old dog, you! How fun to learn new tricks! But I hear you now you will be expected to take care of it yourself. Have fun with OWL today. You must be on about August by now?
MQ glad you had a fun time with little Nora. And my phone does not like the H at the end of her name, it keeps removing it. but you know who I’m talking about. No, Walla Walla would be a great place to be stuck if you had to be stuck someplace. If we ever moved to this side of the state-which we won’t it would be to Walla Walla. We are less than 10 miles from Oregon border there. You live in Walla Walla with no income tax and your shop in Oregon with no sales tax. Win/win! Not to mention it has pretty good weather-seasons, but not too extreme, not very much snow. So add another “win“.
Valerie, as we drive, I’ve been looking at my US map. I think you can get into Canada with an enhanced drivers license. Have you got yours yet? In Washington we could make appointments to get the license and it went much faster but you can walk in if you’re willing to wait in line For up to two or three hours. We think you can get into Canada with just the license though I would double triple check on that. And if you do want your passports, I would not waste a single day in applying for them.
My brother-in-law was on a ladder and the ladder slipped on their new patio and both he and ladder came down. He had quite a shiner and my sister insisted he get CT scan yesterday afternoon. Results came back. He is OK. Not bad for 88 years old. And he is off on a two week ATV camping trip today with all his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. And my sister, who does not go along, says now HER vacation starts
I think we should be able to be home by early afternoon. But as always, just depends on how the trip goes.
Well, I’ve got to get back to my backseat driving. See you down the road!

Re: Saturday June 21, 2025
Good morning. My goodness it's a chilly morning. My windows are open and I'm using a quilt. It will warm up later, but promises to be a nice day.
Took 2 friends to the doctor yesterday, they are part of a clinical trial and getting infusions of a drug called Kinsuela, it is supposed to stop the progression of Alzheimer's. I pray it works, One of the friends is the one I love going places with. The other is her uncle.
Lyn, I googled Deputy. Looks kind of like that series Longmire. I think Longmire was on Hulu. I will certainly use your squirrel method if the hot peppers don't work. In order to use my pellet guns I need to buy cartridges. I had already ordered pepper flakes and cayenne powder from Amazon. Enjoy your walks and boating, hope you catch a lot of fish. Funny about the adult lunchable.
Judi, as I read that you were considering weeding I looked outside and there is a squirrel eating weeds. I could catch and send them to you. Sorry about the mosquitos. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a mosquito.
Maryz, your evening sounds wonderful. I might give that bbq a shot tonight, I just have been too busy or it gets too late. I usually eat dinner before 5pm. I don't hear fireworks here, and people are very aware of the fire dangers. I think, if they want fireworks, they go to an event or into town. I didn't realize the great lakes were so big, the map shows them to only be a few inches long, ha ha. Glad your slide slid in and you are on your way.
Maryq, Is the Alaska quilt for Jen? Is she coming home to stay or to visit? Enjoy the grad party, have cake for me, add some ice cream while you're at it, I love cake and ice cream. Yep, I was treated to lunch yesterday. It was Hawaiian BBQ. It was ok, but I don't think I would seek it out again. Elliott is getting really big,at last report he had 4 teeth and eating avocado and bananas. Not sure which food they will try next.
Jana, high five on figuring out the BS monitor (pun intended) Glad the kids were behind the accident. The little grill I got came with a very small bag of charcoal, I was supposed to light the bag to create the coals. Problem was I didn't read the directions first. I have lots of charcoal here, when it's used up I will look into the other. I also tell me not to do things nd don't listen to me either.
There is a really great fruit stand between my house and the parents house. They have these marvelous peaches and apricots. The peaches are so juicy that I stand over the sink and eat them. There is one left and I think I might put it in some oatmeal for breakfast. After that it's a little Amazon shopping and then piddle around here.
Dinner tonight will, hopefully, be something bbq'd. You all have a better than marvy day.
Chriss

If you have a Michigan drivers license it is mandatory in Michigan that it be inhanced. new law here, We have had inhanced licenses for years now. We used to go to Canada quite often to take advantage of the exchange rate and the cool casino. and of course dinner, but it fell out of favor and we dont go much anymore...Our food and prices are better, If your state has inhanced licenses it is all you need to get into Canada from here, You can enter Canada from many spots in Michigan,
Maryz I think my next project is to finish 24 cthederal window blocks these are hand sewn too...(i think i sent you the pattern) then to attach them to the already done quilt they go to...Is far as sewing I may start the "Made in America" quilt by Laundry Basket quilts. a lot of strips to piece. So a lot of cutting to do.
Mosquitos here are so bad I rarely can walk through the grass or even sit on the porch in the evening without bug spray,
Chriss if your squirrels eat weeds I want them...I will breed them and be wealthy beyond my wildest dreams...xxxooo

Judi, that is a bit toasty. Enjoy the party today. I didn't know about the enhanced licenses , but that make sense.
Chriss, we are chilly this morning too. Only supposed to get to 75 today. I'll take it. I laughed at your "Caddy Shack" reference. Bill loves that movie. I too have some peaches from the farmers market. Maybe with some whipped cream on pancakes.
Lyn, I'll have to look up Deputy as well. I liked the Longmire series.
Valerie, I'm sure you'll find the perfect route. It's going to be a great trip no matter which way you go.
Maryz, your BIL is crazy to get on a latter at 88. So many things could go wrong. Glad you got the slide to go in. Your wine tasting sounds like it was a success. I'd love to join you someday.
Jana, sounds like the kids are all having a good time. Glad you figured out the stabilizer issue.
Maryq, it's a hot one for you as well. Have fun at Evie's party today. I bet you can't wait until next year when Jen comes home to stay.
Carol, Hi. Good to see you.
I have an appraiser coming to my dads house today. I need to get one to another property in NorCal as well so they can be transferred over to me. It's cloudy and cool this morning. Only supposed to get up to 75 today. I'll take it after being in the 90's earlier this week. I need to get a back for another top and quilt it. I think I'll piece something together. I have 8 tops quilted since January. Trying to get them done and out of my way. I have so much stuff I need to down size my quilting/sewing collection. Dinner will be chicken and potatoes.
Have a lovely day
