Good morning I slept in this morning I was up at 3am with run on thoughts, couldnt shut my brain off. I finally fell asleep at 5 and woke at 7. I hate nights like that,
Today my goal after coffee is to load up my car with all the goods I have to donate. and take them to the salvation army, Then I will stop and get milk, bake a loaf of bread ,,and maybe take a nap///in that order...
There is a hockey game tonight but it starts at 9 and I dont think I will make it, Ken might go. but not me.
We have an old antique phone booth which I put on market place to sell and perhaps a guy will come and get it tonight, I say that because folks have said they were and didn't, It is old and dirty, and it even has the pay phone with it, Ken was going to put it in the basement as a novelty but it is too big to go down the stairs and too tall to stand down there, It has sat for years and finally after listening to him complain about it being in the way I finally said enough and sold it. I even offered to split the money with Liam if he would sell it...nope...so mama has some spending money if he shows.
I am off to get coffee and start this circus...Hope you all have a great day,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Morning Judi and all to follow,
Been crazy here lately & things not easing up. Last week Joe took roof off back porch to re-truss it. Pitch is too shallow and leaks getting worse. Supposed to have 2 weeks no rain, it's rained most of the time. So yes we have had leaks even with all the tarps on roof. Finally in dry time, so it should be finished within a few days. Once he has it with sheathing and tar paper, will put tarps back on. July1 roofers will reroof entire house. Plus I am babysitting, plus helping friend out here learn to quilt, plus doing mowing for between rain storms. I'm tired and need a nap..will someone nap for me?
Time to get moving

Good morning Judi and Flo and all who follow. I will be off to Open Sew today. Will take the baby quilt and see if I can make good progress. Not sure I could get it done in a day but we will see. Made good progress on my Ryan's Sampler yesterday. Next week Monday is charity quilt day then 3 days of open sew. I will work on the blueberries and cream quilt then. I think I can get the rest of the blocks done in those 3 days.

DH is off work for a week. Has a hamstring injury. No idea how that happened but he tends to forget he is 70 and needs to pay a bit more attention to his movements. I suspect he jumped off something at work but who knows.

Chriss I like that you can BBQ, that is one task I have never learned and really don't think I will. There are cases I see many men wear that clip to their belts. Or maybe an around the neck type of thing. Maybe Dad could do something like that. $10 burger that comes with fries? That is almost unheard of today. Even at McDonalds by the time you get your burger, fries and a drink, $20 bill gone.

Maryq I will need to contemplate getting from your place to Vermont. Yes, I know what driving through Chicago entails. Not my first choice but not even sure I could get passports in enough time. I think it's a 90 day thing. I will decide by next week.

Jana just going into the dentist office can raise your BP. If it's high, I would ask them to let you sit and accomodate to the office for 10 or 15 min then take it again.

Judi I really really need to purge, I am going to do Dad's stuff soon as I need to get the things to bring to my nephew that he wants. No sense in holding onto these clothes either. I could use the closet space.

Maryz how is the camping going? Do you have WiFi?

Lyn I searched the internet for layer cakes that may be appropriate for my namesake quilt. So far haven't found anything. I notice that many of the fabrics in the layer cake have light backgrounds. Looking for something that is mostly color. May just have to wait till a new collection comes out. But yes, I have to make that one.

Time for more coffee and possibly some breakfast. Have been up since 4 ish. My appointment with the RT went no where. She seemed in a hurry, oh well. So still not sleeping well.

Have a great day everyone, may all your bobbins be full!

Good morning

Camping going so so. The motor on our slide broke. Not sure what’s wrong. So we have extremely limited space in our trailer and the slide blocks our large pantry. We can still get to everything else in our trailer. We made sure we could do that when we bought it. So essentials are accessible. It’s just “skinny living“. Bill has repairman coming to the campground this morning, so I will go out with our friends to do some wine tasting, and he will join us when he can.

Weather is very nice. But will be cooling off quite a bit by tomorrow . We will be going home Saturday.

Have not got computers set up. No place to put them so for now, they are still in the case. I’m dictating on my phone.

That’s all I got for now. Need to shower and eat some breakfast.

Have great Thursday!

Good morning!

If some of y'all want to trade, I have more heat than we really need. Rain in trade would be nice. The they say 102. Glad I'm indoors!

Not much going on here. Today is a Mr G day of fussing over all the procedures he's had done, so I'm got a half an ear listening, cause I know where this conversation goes. Ignore the majority and know when to say something.

I will do the last name on the sweatshirt this morning. Laundry is done. After I do the ironing , I should mop the laundry room floor. Best Press on linoleum does get sticky! Hair spray too, Humm, wonder if I could interchange them? Nope, don't think that's a good idea. LOL!

No sewing, except for the name. I have to get my new computer up and running. Sarah put the wrong Quicken on it so I have to change that. And I really don't know what I'm doing! But it's a have to, so I'll either break the computer or succeed. Wish me luck!

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Dear Friends

Tis a lovely day in Minnesota, sunny and warm. There are a few days when I regret living here--cold weather and the political climate---but today is beautiful and I'm going to enjoy it!

Judi... I saw your phone booth on marketplace and thought how cool is that. Glad for you that someone is interested it and hopefully they will have the perfect spot for it! Jeff & Colleen didn't want it?  My kids don't want anything! :( I guess kids don't get emotionally attached to things any more--maybe because they don't have to work as hard for the things as we did, and our parents did.

Flo... OH my goodness you sure do have a lot going on!! The roof alone is a big project never mind the teaching and babysitting! Hope you can sneak in a little snooze---is there a place that you can hide and even put your feet up for a little bit?

Valerie..... Back in 2011, when Jen and I drove across Canada, we only needed to get a Passport Card. I'm not sure if that is still an option, but you only needed (at that time) to have a Passport if you were flying into Canada. You don't need a photo for a passport card. https://passportinfo.com/passport-book- ... port-card/ The other problem driving across Canada is exchanging US $ to CAD $ and everything in Canada is more expensive. Gas is by the liter and you may know this but 4 liters is approx. 1 gallon. When I look at the map, there sure doesn't seem to be much alternative than going through Chicago. I'll check my layer cake stash and see what I have--I could save it for you! :-)

Maryz... Sorry to hear your slide broke! Hope it's an easy fix! There's a person that will come out to your campsite and fix? How cool is that! More wine tasting today? I know you're not a fan of Muscato, but taste a little for me!

Jana... Thanks, but no thanks, I'll keep the heat I have. If it gets much past 85 here I'm done! Oh yes, that Best Press can get sticky! I iron in front of my kitchen window, so I gave up on the mini blinds in that window as they got all gunky from Best Press. Much easier to wash little curtains when they are sticky than mini blinds.

Chriss... My problem with my phone is that 99% of the time I just forget where I put it!! Katie made me a little bag to put it in to carry it, but it's heavy! So most of the time I just ask Alexa "where's my phone" and she will call it for me. Did you get a new small gas grill? I've often thought about getting a little grill here too, but it just seems like too much work! I'd have to haul mine out 12 feet from the garage--association rules.

Today I'm headed out to get a quick hair cut. It's not that "too long" stage yet but will be by the time I get to Alaska, so I'll get a trim now and it should be perfect by time I get there! After that it's home to do some laundry and maybe sew something--there's always lots of options around here.

time for more coffee...........

Wishing you all the very best !

Good morning. My morning heated up quickly. I had the windows open for an hour before it got too hot in here.

The farmers market was fun, I bought two peaches and 4 apricots. Then we went to dinner at Steve's Sportsman Cafe. They donate so much to the community, mostly kids things. I had a mushroom and swiss burger with fries. I'm still full this morning.

Cali no longer sells squirrel bait so I googled how to deter squirrels. I really don't want them dead, I just want them gone. I will mix up a pepper flake, cayenne, dishsoap water mixture and give their holes a good spraying. I really hate these critters. they are so destructive. And they eat the fruit from my trees before it's ripe. After that they eat the leaves.

Dad is done in my kitchen until my stove comes next week. I think I will clean out cupboards and drawers. and wipe them out. Perhaps I can get rid of a few things. After the stove is put in the kitchen will be mess free and all mine again. I will be overjoyed to have it back.

Judi, I am thinking of gathering donations too. The thrift store I like has senior day today. But I think it might be a holiday, I'll check to see if they are open. Hope they actually come and take that phone booth.
It's always nice to clear out the excess.

Flo, it will be so nice to have a new non leaky roof. You won't have to worry about it for the rest of your life. It's a big expense but will last.

Valerie, even though I went through this whole house and got rid of so much stuff, I still need to do it again. I've pretty much stayed away from anything but clothes in thrift stores. I'm not an experienced bbq'er. But a bbq'd steak or burger is a marvelous thing. Tell me about the cost of fast food. The other day I went through the taco bell drive thru, I asked for two things that they no longer make, the third was a much smaller than I remember burrito supreme and it was $8. Now I remember why I don't do fast food. Sorry you aren't sleeping well, is it the cpap? Hope DH heals quickly.

Maryz, seems camping is a very expensive form of recreation. Hope it's something simply fixed.

Jana, you will surely win over that computer. Fight the good fight and you will be the victor. You don't need a teenager, you got this. I'd offer to take that heat from you but have plenty of my own, remember, I'm trying to get rid of excess.

Maryq, kids really don't want our hand me downs. I've learned my son doesn't want anything, but my DIL expresses an interest so there is hope. You call yours Alexia, my dad calls his Chriss. LOL. I bought a charcoal grill. I had a coupon and got it for $20, it came with a small bag of charcoal. I do have a table that I can put it on, just need to drag it to the patio.https://www.big5sportinggoods.com/store ... /A-7455579

My son texted, they are having a bbq for 4th of July. The parents and I will be there, my job is to make a green salad. My son likes my salad because I put a lot of stuff in it. I also need to get something red/white and blue to wear.

It's already 80* outside, I think I will get my day started. Dinner tonight might be bbq hotdogs, unless it's too hot to bbq, then it will be a salad

Hope you all have a fun day,
Chriss

Uggh, Grumpy decided that his shirts can't touch each other, he says his closet is too crowded. So I've been pulled into sorting his shirts. Winter flannel, button up sports shirts, nice polos and ratty, he won't part with. He says he wants to pare down his shirts, and I'm getting nowhere! This could be a long process!

Jana, is that similar to food touching on a plate? I've never heard of the clothes not being able to touch.
Chriss, poke, poke, poke. hehehe As I clear things out at my parents house I have things I give away, throw away, keep, and not sure of. The not sure of pile gets set aside and then I go back to it a week or so later and it ends up in the give away or throw away. It just needs to simmer a bit before I decide if I want to keep it or not. It's usually not. Do you have Vector control up there? We can call them and they put out traps for the tree rats (squirrels). I had the best salad at the pool party the other day and the dressing was delicious.

Maryz, what a bummer about the slide out. Just pretend you're in an Airstream. I did the wine tasting yesterday. It was fun.

Maryq, there's political crap everywhere you go. I think California is the worst. Just ignore it and enjoy the day.

Valerie, I couldn't get to sleep last night. We're on the opposite side of not sleeping.

Judi, I was having those thoughts prior to sleep. Once I finally got to sleep, the dog woke me and wanted to go out. I did go right back to sleep though, but I'm tired this morning.

Lyn, did you make it across the boarder?

Tina, how are you? Are you still hanging out with us?

Yesterday was a fun one. I drove and we had a great time. I picked up my subscription of wine and bought a few other bottles elsewhere. The new alpaca farm was terrible. The tour guide didn't know anything about the animals. We educated her a bit. We'll write some reviews about it. Today I need to go grocery shopping and do a few thing around the house. I also need to find someone to do an appraisal on the 2 properties of my dads. Don't know what's for dinner just yet. I'll decide after shopping.

Have a lovely day.

I had started a post on my phone but had to leave the tab open to answer a call. I saw it there but when I touched it, poff, gone. No time to start over.

We arrived about 6:30 yesterday. No problem crossing the Border. Going to pick up the boat now, which is an hours drive away.
