Good morning, It is sunny and bright 84 today. I have windows opened and fresh air coming in but I will probably have to close up when the 80s hit. it gets very warm upstairs where my sewing room is.
Today I cannot do windows again as it is too sunny the sun room is my last hold out. They will get done tomorrow as we are expecting cloudy skies.. That is a tiny room (7x9) so all the furniture and plants have to be moved out just to do the 7 windows. It is actually our favorite room for sitting and having coffee.
Yesterday I was able to play with my machine and I wont be cataloging ALL of the stitches...I will go through and do all the stitches I am likely to use,,,There are just too many to stitch out...While looking I got to 1300 and decided I only need to stitch out the ones I will use or might use. I did oil it and check for lint...I am using red thread for the stitchout and there wasnt much lint to clean out...but they recommend frequent oiling and cleaning,,,but she sews like a dream...and the fancy stitches are really done well...if ever I decide to do a crazy quilt there will probably be enough stitches to not use the same one twice...
Well I need coffee and get myself down to see what I need to do today...hope you all have a great day...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,

It's an exciting day here today! Lee & Lara are getting their new home this morning! a 40-ft fifth-wheel. Bill is going with them to the dealership for their walk-thru, paper signing, and bringing it home to our yard. They plan to do a few short trips this summer, but basically I think they'll stay in our back yard until after Christmas, when they plan to hit the road and start their travelin' life. It will be good to have them here while WE go travelin'! As for this morning, I won't be going along. I have a chiro appt and then a grocery shopping trip.

CHRISS - the SW Chicken Casserole was a keeper! Yum! But you'll be living on leftovers for a while if you don't have company for supper. I posted the recipe in the recipe section in Chit Chat if you want to check it out. Lee & Lara sold their house here in Bremerton 6 years ago, when Lee was transferred to Washington DC. They lived in an apartment in Alexandria, VA for these 6 years. He retired first of May and have spent the last 3 weeks driving across the country back to WA. They want to travel and see the country before they settle down so they ordered this RV (after going to many RV shows back east), ordered a truck, and will soon be realizing their dream. Both their adult sons, Drew & Alec, live here so that's why they want to stay around this area until after Christmas. They want to spend the holidays with their boys. So that's their story. I bet that tomato tasted pretty good!!

DIANE - I hope you are having better weather today! Though a nice thunderstorm does sound kind of fun - as long as there's no wind.

CAROL, Great to see you! Stop by more often! Some of my favorite recipes are marked, "from QIAD Carol"! thanks for the website. I don't really know where my Gr GrMo is buried or if I even have the correct name. I only know my grandmother was the youngest of her four daughters. Two were born in France and two were born in US. Gramma Sophie was born in St. Cloud, MN. But my gr Grandfather remarried here in Tacoma when my gramma was pretty young. I'm not sure of dates of any of this.

MARY Q - I hope you got your groceries! Do you still eat a lot of apples? I saw a sign the other day that made me think of you: "An apple a day will keep anyone away if you throw it hard enough!"

JANA - I think we all have bad decisions in our past that we wish we could change. Happy graduation anniversary! My graduation was May 25, 1969. I remember driving my uncle to his 50th reunion and thinking to myself, 'do people really get this old??' Turns out we do indeed!

JUDI - I hope you found Ken some new clothes. I'm glad you are loving your new machine. Bernies are nice machines. I usually use neutral thread - beige or gray - and fill 5 bobbins. When the bobbins are empty, I know it's time to clean and oil and clean my machine. I have a maintainance agreement on mine (after the warranty is up). It costs $500 for 3 years but I have unlimited servicing and free labor for repairs, with 20% off any parts needed. But so far, I've never been charged for any parts. I take my machine in at least twice a year, sometimes more, and just cleaning is nearly $200 now. $1200 to $1500 worth of service over three years for $500 is a good deal for as much as I use my machine.

LOIS - how is Mr. Snowman coming along?

Yesterday I fine-tuned my 21" table topper for my quilt class (if I teach it this year). I want to be ready. I pulled some fabrics for another one for demonstration in class. Then I wrote out directions and took a photo. Tomorrow I might make yet another one, working from my directions. I'll play pattern tester. But first, my appt and grocery fetching. Then I can't wait to see the kids' new home. I think I"ll buy them a take'n'bake pizza for their lunch so they can test out their oven. They'll be moving some of their stuff into the new fiver this afternoon. Tonite's supper is going to be leftover SW Chicken Casserole. And probably a salad.

y'all have a "cotton-pickin' day"! (Picking my 'cotton' is my favorite part of quilting!)

Good Morning Girls

Just a quick hello this morning. I'm picking up Peggy and we are headed out for some garage sales--she's an earlier riser (I am not!!). I promised her I'd pick her up about 9:30 which gives me just enough time to say hello, go dry my hair (no shower just a quick dunk in the sink for my hair) and find a face in the drawer and be at her house in time!

I did manage to get groceries yesterday and it amazes me that three regular groceries bags full costs over $200.!! And I only bought 2lb of burger--- stew meat---for soup or stew.. $13.00!!! ( I did not buy) Bacon was cheaper than burger!! Didn't get much done when I got home but did manage to set up my shredder and shredded loan papers etc from 2001.. and every re-fi I've done since then.

Anyway,.... If I get a chance I'll peek in when I get home.

Maryz... try that web site--it works.. It showed me a picture of my folks grave sites

See y'all later

Mary a new 5er sounds good our old one was almost 40ft. We really did love it but our truck did not. I miss camping but not as much as I though I would...I love being home and just taking small trips here and there,,,I am planning one to the Upper Penninsula this summer. Ken does have to get the bar and basement done first. I told him I would make reservation if he got busy he agreed. He was supposed to join the procrastinators club but he keeps putting it off. We did find clothes for him he bought 2 pairs of jeans and 3 really nice shirts for summer. Another pair of jeans and a pair of khakis and 3 long sleeve shirts are still on the list...and he has more to get rid of in his closet...xxxooo

Good morning!

Goin' to get quite hot here today. Close to 100, but I'm nice and cool, in the Batt Cave.

Mr G isn't too bad to shop for. Right now he's on a short sleeve, button front, cotton shirt kick. And it has to have a pocket! No pocket, don't bother even trying! First thing looked for!

Sprinkler tech will be here anytime. When that's done, I can play in the Batt Cave. Sarah was down last night and we discussed more plants for the yard.. we'll go shopping for them after she's back from camping late next week. They are camping in Island Park, right next to Yellowstone.

Not much else around here.

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning from Grain Valley, MO, they say 90° for a high today.

I've been reading, just haven't posted.

One hickup was cleared but have another one. I ordered a supplement that Garry takes from the company because it's cheaper than getting it on Amazon. I paid extra to have it shipped FedEx. They sent me a tracking link that didn't work. I emailed a screenshot to show them. They replied that they had made a mistake and sent it USPS Priority and sent that tracking info. It was in KC at 2 different distribution centers, SIL says KC has 3 centers. Last evening I looked again and it had arrived in CHICAGO! Grrr This morning it has left Chicago for who knows where.

So, today and probably tomorrow or longer are free days. I will get my machine turned on today.

MaryZ, If you want, I would be happy to test the pattern. I have some extra fat quarters I bought to play with the machine.

Judi, I may follow your lead and only stitch out what I would most likely use. I buy Garry's jeans and some shirts at Cabela's but use our points to pay for them.

MaryQ, Y'all have garage sales on Wednesday? Every where I've been, it's Friday, Saturday and maybe Sunday. Last year traveling, we past a sign, "Random Crap Garage Sale." I would have stopped out of curiosity but I was driving the MH.

MaryZ, Happy move in day to L & L. I'm sure that rig has slides. The best tip friends gave us when we bought our first MH, was to have a window or door open when opening or closing slides, because you're displacing air. It proved to be very true. I had a hot air balloon mobile hanging over the dresser in the bedroom. I opened the window by it and when I moved slides that spun like crazy.

Since we are here extra days, I ordered a Super Box for the TV. My DD2 has one and a friend here bought one a few months back and they both say it's great. It will arrive today. It's not hard to set up. Once I know it's working, I will cancel YouTube TV. There's no monthly fees, you buy the box and that's it. The cost equals 2 1/2 months of paying for YouTube TV. The only down side is it only runs on one TV, so you would need one for each TV. I sometimes watch the bedroom TV in here, but I will just find something on the free apps.

I need to start a load of clothes, feed Minnie and me, then I will play.
Hope y'all have a good day.
Lyn

Good afternoon.

My quilt group puts together quilts for Veterans. They aren't QOV but are for our local Vets. There is a Veterans breakfast once a month and that is when the quilts are handed out. A couple of recipients went to school with my dad, so I invited the parents to attend the breakfast. I helped hand out the quilts. Breakfast was chicken fried steak with gravy, sausage, potatoes and a biscuit. It was a nice event.

Tomorrow I am going to go and have my oil changed. No excuses, no exceptions. I need to do it. I'll leave early and get there when the express service opens. There are some pretty good thrift stores in the area of my dealer so I may just hit those too.

Judi, I get up around 6am and it's already pushing 70* here. If I opened the windows I would have to go around and close them soon afterwards. I've been just leaving my a/c on. It doesn't cool off enough at night to open the windows. Last night at 11pm it was still in the 80's. Glad you mentioned windows. I have three long ones in my living room with nose prints all over them. I think I will tackle that job today. Funny isn't it. In the old days, when we bought something, it had an owner's manual that was almost as thick as a phone book. Now it's QR codes and You Tube videos, and the booklet has about the same number of pages as a calendar. I'm glad you love that new machine. Glad Ken found some clothes. It's embarrassing when you walk down the road and your pants fall down.

Maryz, what fun for your kids to have their new home on wheels. I bet they are excited. Ican only imagine your excitement having your little girl right in your back yard. It's good to be you. I saw your recipe. I've made something like that but added water chestnuts for crunch. I bet it would be just as good without them. It's a good meal, every day for a few days.

Maryq, well that takes care of that. We can't go to yard sales together. I'm also an early riser and like to get to the sales when they open. There go my dreams. Crushed. ha ha. Groceries are crazy expensive. A pound of no name butter, in cubes, is between 5 and 7 dollars. A steak is about 17-20 a pound. Easily $10 per steak. Hamburger is still $5 a pound at Costco, but their other meat isn't cheap. Luckily, I love burgers.

Jana, Jerry used to want pockets in his shirts too. Then he quit smoking and decided he could wear any old shirt. Enjoy your nice cool cave, I'm sitting in my recliner with a fan blowing directly on me and a dog as close to me as he can get

Lyn, hope the supplements show up. I once mailed a flat rate box from here to Texas. The post office sent it to Puerto Rico. It went back and forth in PR and I called the local post master to have her kick start it in the right direction. Maybe UPS has that kind of service? I never would have thought of opening a window to close the slide, but it makes perfect sense.

Well I want to clean those three windows so I need to channel my inner Judi. After that I think I will go play in my room.

Dinner tonight will be something with the cooked pot roast I have thawed out. My mind says Philly cheese steak but my head says that means a trip to the store for the ingredients. Probably not going to happen unless I talk me into it.

You all have a great day.

If y'all felt the earth shake this afternoon, it's because I finally got time to turn the B570QE on. Then I had to call the store where I bought it and ask a couple of questions. I just played in scrap fabric. Judi, I can see why you're not stitching out all the possible stitches. I'm not going to after looking through it all.

Supplements are back in KS and supposedly will be delivered tomorrow. But, the company felt bad for the run around and now they have FedEx a free bottle and I don't know when it will arrive.

The Super Box arrived and I'm watching videos on it before I set it up.

Taco salad for dinner.
