Good morning Peeps it is a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
I have some tidying up to do and then Ken and I will head out to get him some new clothes...Everything is big on him and it shows, So I finaly cnvinced him to go to Cabella.s for some clothes...They are a bit pricey but while cleaning up one of his "nests" we found 2 Cabella gift cards from his birthday in December, so the bite will be softened. Wish me luck. He is so not a shopper but he has to try on the jeans since I dont even know what size to order...
I have a bit of tidying up to do and the bird feeders need filling, So I will do that this mornng,
If I have time I will continue in the sewing room...didn't get anything done there yesterday.
Hope you all have a great day,,,the weather here is 74 and sunny today so it will be a good day to be outside...When we get home I might be in the yard,
Had a great dinner at my son and family Chicken enchilladas were amazing along with home made refried beans and rice...Ice cream and cake followed...Sarah liked her gifts Navy was her bossy directing everyone as to what to do next. She is a stinker,,,and she likes her great grampa better than me but at least she now likes someone and is not glued to her mom. When getting ready to leave i hugged her Mom and she reluctntly gave me a hug goodby,,then
immediately stated " Well now it has to be Pa's turn for a hug" It reminded me of the old Art Linkladder show "Kids say the darndest things,"

Good morning -last night we were on a ride from thunder and lightning to winds then rain. WOW! It didn't last to long but the warnings on the the tv kept going with bulletins. I guess it should be no surprise, this really is most of the weather for summer here.
Things are going good here. Joe had his blood work yesterday and if all is well, he'll has his infusion at 12 today. I'm picking up 1 of my qov quilts that needs binding. So that is my plans for the day. The other times will be spent in the sewing room. I'm trying hard to lessen my stash but seems to grow each night.
Well enjoy your day.
Diane

Good morning,
JUDI - happy clothes shopping with Ken. I don't really like to go with Bill, either. He also has to try on everything and then he wants me there so he can come out and model and ask how it looks. And if it's shoes, good gravy, Marie! He has to try on every pair in the store, walk around, and ask my opinion. When I go clothes shopping, I like to be by myself. Glad Navy is warming up some. They are so huggable at this age, I just know you just want to be snarfling on that little girl all the time!
LOIS - Wishing Joe good labs! He is doing so well so far, I expect nothing less from him! I wasn't sure if you were still doing QOV quilts since Joe got sick.
CHRISS - Did you get your stove? If you get the picture you showed us yesterday I think you'll be happy with it. The fewer bells and whistles, the fewer things that can go wrong. And cabinets? You say you don't use your dishwasher. Do you ever run it, perhaps monthly, just to make sure gaskets are still intact and not drying out and splitting.
MARY Q - Thanksgiving, 1975 I also was cooking a turkey. So proud to be hosting it on my own for the first time. And we had The Thanksgiving Day Storm - we always have our storms on holidays so we can give them festive names - the power went out, and I had to haul everything to my parents - 3 miles away. I was so disappointed. So, what did you sew yesterday? I worked on a second tabletopper. Didn't finish it though. I did not know that about Hasidic Jews. So what does the Sabbath setting mean on appliances? If you go to St. Cloud and happen to walk through cemeteries, I believe my great grandmother is there somewhere. Teresa. That's where her daughter, my grandmother, was born. . .
JANA - I've never heard anything bad about a Jenn Aire stove. My DB and SIL put on in there house when they remodeled in the 70's. And it was still going strong last time I was there - in March. Andrew is going to be dropped right into the frying pan, weather wise. It's already been into triple digits in Texas.
FLO - I don't think I'd remember to replace the screws on my metal roof every couple of years. I've never heard of such a thing. I'm wondering if the insurance was just looking for a way to get out of paying.
VAL - I think I agree with you - no more Samsung appliances! My old fridge was a Samsung and was great! I loved it! It was a great design inside and out. But this Samsung will probably last forever. Ugh! Why do appliance makers think French doors are a good idea? They are awkward to use - I always have to open two doors. My neighbor also has french doors plus a deli drawer. She hates it. Isn't it fun to finally start making travel plans! What major east/west interstate do you think you'll take? For our first leg we'll probably go I-90 east to I-25 in Montana when we'll go south through WY to visit CO family.
Kids were here again for a while yesterday. They are still in task-oriented mode - move their stuff to storage, re-register car in WA and in their son's name, visit his family, get new drivers' licenses, etc. Tomorrow Bill will go with them to get their trailer and bring it home. That will be fun for them! I worked on another table topper and marinated chicken to grill for supper. Tonite, we're having SW Chicken casserole. I saw recipe on Pinterest. We'll see how it goes.
Got to run!

Good morning!
Well, y'all already knew I'm the weird one here. I love my French door refrigerator with the deli drawer. It's easy to reach all the way to the back back of it. But then again, it's a counter depth. Not as deep, but holds what we need. Doesn't stick out any farther than my counter edge. It's also a LG.
Remembered where I was some 54 years ago, I was sitting in the old Richmond Audutorium, waiting for my turn to walk across the stage for my high school graduation. That was a long time ago! Told y'all I'm weird! Even remembered on the 4th of June that it was my senior prom and my brother Tommy's wedding., same day and time.. To which I was a stupid dumb kid and had a more stupid boyfriend, who told me that he wouldn't go first to the wedding, then to the dance. I had to pick one, so I stupidly missed my brother's wedding. Boy what a combination I was, , stupid and weird! Well, maybe not stupid anymore. I can hope.
Working on some names on sweatshirts for Sarah's cousin. It's only 6 names and I have 4 left to do. My embroidery machine was not cooperating! Got fussy over new needles. They are embroidery needles, Schmetz gold eye, expensive ones, but no they didn't work. Shredded the thread. So I pulled out a old jeans needle that had a large eye and voile, it worked. So now I have 6 or 7 new packages of fussy needles. Topstitch needles work too. So I'll finish that today.
Tomorrow my landscapers are sending out the guys to fix my sprinklers and spray weeds. We have one drip line that is still acting up.
Everything else around here, ugly wise is caught up. So I can play!
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls
Up, showered and dressed!! Huge accomplishment by 0930! But I'm on a mission this morning as I've decided it's time to go get groceries and as luck would have it, there is a Michael's store next to Target (a little further up the road). I need to find more needlepoint yarn to finish the project I'm working on. I must not have used the yarn correctly as I ran out of black!! Hope Michael's carries it!
Judi... Oh my gosh, how old is that little Navy? She sounds like a little spitfire!! Ms bossy pants!
Finding gift cards is like finding cash you didn't know you had!! Hope Ken finds lots of good deals at Cabelas!!
Diane... I was just thinking about you yesterday! Years ago you sent me some blocks to put together for the hospice home..... I finally found them and got them put together! They were hiding!! I swear I'm still finding things from moving 3 years ago! Hope all goes well with Joe. We are waiting to hear and ALL CLEAR!!
Maryz...If you could narrow down which cemetery your great grand mother is.. I'd be happy to go look! It is interesting to walk around old cemeteries. Viv has relatives buried here in St. Michael I need to go check out. I remember walking through the cemetery in Faribault where my folks families are--in the old days they sometimes put the cause of death on the headstone! I did get a few more blocks done on the project I was working on. But there's a quilt laying on the floor waiting on borders that I probably should do. Took down my Janome and set up my Brother to sew. Might make that pilgrimage to St. Cloud this week or next. I found the 1/4" foot for the Brother and sews quite nicely.
Jana... When I was looking for new fridge for this house, I really wanted a french door, just because I thought they looked so neat, but when I measured my space it just wouldn't work. My kids have one and I have to say, I'm glad I got a regular one. Funny how machines seem to like one kind of needle better than another!! My Janome seems to want on Schmetz with the blue band!!! But in the embroidery one I use Schmetz embroidery 75/11 or I did find some Organ ones that seem to be ok.
Chriss.... How did cabinet shopping go? Funny I was just thinking about my cabinets this morning. Not sure it's worth it for me to replace them, but I've contemplated painting them. I did get an estimate to paint my bathroom vanities---$2000.!!! So I ain't doin' that!! Yeh I've learned a lot of interesting things about Hasidic Jews on Facebook. Lots of very strict rules. For example, husbands and wives don't sleep in the same bed when wife is having her period. After a woman marries, she never ever wears her natural hair in public. Only a wig or covered with a scarf. They don't use electricity at all on Sabbath--and even to turn on a light switch is not allowed. You can turn it on and leave it on before Sabbath, but can't touch it after Sabbath starts. I think the Sabbath mode uses less electricity or something, because a fridge needs to stay on. Also, they never eat meat and cheese together---no cheeseburgers! I learned that when we had a foreign exchange student from Israel.
Guess I better get in gear. Need to do face and hair and hit the road. The sooner I go get groceries the sooner I can get back to my happy place---the sewing room!!
Hope y'all have great day!

Re: Tuesday June 10th,2025
Good morning. Are you ready for another beautiful day?
The parents will be here today, not quite sure what my dad has planned. My plan is to do some things outside until I can't stand the heat. I have lots of misc. things to do.
Moose is finally drinking water from his neater feeder. It took him a few days to get used to it but there's no stopping him now. It looks like it's working the way it should work, and making less mess.
Judi, sounds like Pa won Navy over and they will be pals. Ken reminds me a little of my dad, loving and teaching and patient. Hope you find all the clothes you need so you don't have to go to many stores. I also had Mexican food yesterday, mine was a chili relleno.
Maryz, let me know if the SW chicken casserole goes well. Did your kids sell their house and are relocating to Wash? No on the dishwasher, it's not even hooked up to water, it's just a space filler. Yep, I ordered the stove, it will be here at the end of the month. I did err when I bought the microwave, it's just too big. It's too late to return it so I will have to take it down and try to sell it and get a smaller one. dang it.
Jana, For me a big refrigerator would just be empty cold space. As it is, my fridge is not large but quite empty. I just don't eat a lot. If I had your brood to cook for it would be another story. Hope your landscaper fixes things in your yard.
Maryq, I shopped for counter tops. My cabinets will just be painted. I have a wall oven that the circuit board has gone out and never been fixed. Since I have a slide in stove I don't need the wall oven. The plan is to remove it and put cupboard doors over the hole. Problem is, my cabinet doors are no longer manufactured. But, the same style is in my bathrooms and if they will work I can swap them out. Dad said we will replace the counter tops and add a deeper stainless steel sink. then a little painting and be done. I find it interesting that appliance companies have added the Sabbath feature, I had never seen that before. When people have so many strict rules I wonder things like, what if they needed an ambulance or fire truck on the sabbath, would they wait until Monday to call 911? What are their jobs, they couldn't work on a Sunday, no nursing or doctoring, or many other jobs. I'ts interesting to learn why things are what they are. As for the no cheese burgers, that would be a deal breaker for me, but I wonder why. Hope your morning chores are quick and fruitful.
Carol, hi there, how are you?
Picked my first of the year tomato yesterday. Took it to Dad's and he sliced it up so that we each had a slice, it was amazingly wonderful. There is another one out there turning color and many green ones that will soon get there.
All righty, time for breakfast, a quick clean up of the kitchen and then go outside and get something done.
Not sure what dinner will be, I have some cooked roast in the freezer, I think I will pull that out and set it on the window sill to thaw.
Have a groovy day,
Chriss
