SATURDAY, May 17th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat May 17, 2025 5:42 am

Good morning,

Today is Norwegian Independence Day, a day I always used to celebrate with my Michael, he being Norwegian and all. And the reason that Autumn chose it for their wedding, 3 years ago - a way to bring her Dad to the wedding. So cheers and happy 3rd anniversary to my A-Team!

CHRISS - Thanks for the gesture of sharing your squirrels. While I love the little rodents, I have enough of my own for now. But if Scottie's dream every materializes and he actually catches some of them, I know where to go for replacements.

LORI - I fixed my embroidery, it's all together, and I posted a photo. And my chiro agrees with you - he thinks there is more going on with me than sciatica. He is very curious to see what an MRI shows. But I can't even see the doctor until next Wed so it's going to be a while yet. I loved your photo of Miss Molly. I'm sure you miss her a lot. Will you get another kitty one day?

MARY Q - did you find any irresistable treasures at the big garage sale marathon?

LYN - What a great job Kaylyn has! I assume it's just for the summer? Sorry about the meltdown. They happen. Hope the hot water system is fixed.

JANA - hamburgers sound good to me! I had one yesterday. With fries and a Dr. Pepper. Bad me. Glad all the bloodwork came back normal. What did you finally decide on the JN workshop? Now, after my LOTR and my NYB, I think I could handle a JN project.

VAL - I hope your updates happen soon. What a pain! I like a good storm, too, as long as no big trees fall on anyone. But we rarely get storms here.

JUDI - happy new Bernina!! Sorry about the feet, but Bernie's are pretty specific on their feet and bobbins, too. And fun parties today! Whose birthday is it? Glad you are all excited about the engagement. Is it too early to ask if they've set a date yet?

LOIS - are you doing the single sunflower wallhanging or the whole quilt?

I posted a picture of my llama quilt (sorry, it went sideways), and my embroidered one. Then I went to chiro at 0900 and Bill's biopsy at noon. That took less than half hour. Now we wait. Then he wanted to stop for a burger so I guess we can say we ate lunch out - even if it was out in the car. My calf is still wildly painful but I did get a little sleep last night. I was in bed, up on couch, back to bed, then out to recliner. Can't be still. It will be better once I'm up a little longer and go through a hot shower. I have backing fabric for my embroidery quilt that I need to piece but I probably won't do it anytime soon. The sewing chair hits the back of my leg in just the wrong spot and ignites the inflamed muscles all over again. I no longer have a handwork project either. So I guess I'll just lay around and read today. I do have a large cross stitch kit of bears up in our Olympic Mountains that's been sitting, waiting for about 4 years. Not sure I want to get started on another big project right now.

Full bobbins! Empty them if you got 'em!

Good morning!

Sunny at the moment, but as we heat up, the clouds will form and a few thunder bunpers too.

Judi- yippee, a new machine! You'll have lots of fun with it!

Maryz - sorry about the leg still. Happy Anniversary to the A-team!

Well not much new around here. Laundry is caught up, floor washed and kitchen is clean. Even my Giants won last night! Daniel will be here sometime today. Pouring concrete. My lawn guys came and sprayed all the pesky weeds in my planting beds. The yard is looking good!

We're out of milk. But no way I'm going to Costco on a Saturday! I'll get a gallon over at Winco when I get the hamburger buns.

Do fun stuff!

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Maryz, happy anniversary to the kids. I love both of your finished quilts. We have a lot of squirrels here too. We call them tree rats. Jack chased one down the street the other day. It ran in front of him just as we were walking up to the house.

Lois, enjoy your nice weather. We are gloomy today.

Judi, how exciting to get a new machine. I have that same one and love it. I took a class on how to use it. It's very different from my Janome.

I have a class today. The teacher is Grace Errea. She's teaching her method of applique. I need to gather my stuff and get ready.

Have a lovely day.

Good day to everyone.

Judi, I think you will really enjoy your new Bernina. I was looking on YouTube and a lady who probably works for Bernina has over a hundred videos on the 570QE. Look for HeirloomCreations on YouTube. My screen starts out pink these days, so it may be on it's way out. If so, I will be interested in how you like this new machine.

MaryZ, I'm sorry you are in pain. Is there anyway you can get the MRI before seeing the Dr, so he would have the results on Wed.? Your quilts are wonderful! Happy Anniversary to the A team!

Maddox was a little difficult yesterday morning, but the delay in leaving turned out to be a good thing. The plumber called and said he could come right over at 11 a.m. He had a new zone control on in about 10 minutes. This allowed us the whole afternoon to enjoy. A stop at McDonalds helped Maddox feel better. We ate going down the Mtn. At the bottom of Big Thompson Canyon, there's the Dam Store. There's a dam you can see if you climb the tower by the store. I was out of breath, but it was fun. Haven't done it in years. Then to Bucee's, which is a Texas franchise gas station. This one has 116 gas pumps, cars only, no truckers allowed. The store is huge. Kids bought T shirts and some Carmel corn. Last was Scheels Sports store. They have a ferris wheel inside the store. The kids rode that, I took photos of them. The most interesting thing was they have this big fish tank that is an archway and there was a guy in scuba gear cleaning inside.

I better get moving to the shower. No one is up or not out of the bedroom yet. Only plans today is a family dinner celebration of Kaylyn leaving home for the summer job. She figured since everyone was here and there wasn't a graduation party, her new job was a good reason for a party. She only gets 1 day a week off, so she can run down the mountain and visit parents, do laundry, etc.

Hope all y'all enjoy your day.
Lyn

Good morning. It's going to be a great day today.

As I sit here, I can see a gopher tilling up some ground in the front yard. He has quite a few mounds of dirt here and there, he's a busy guy. The gopher is uninterrupted because Moose is laying on this side of the window fast asleep. But if the UPS man drove buy Moose would be barking like crazy.

What I should do today is go into town and clean the parents house. There is a church rummage sale in town that might need my attention. I also want to get Moose a new feeding station that sits higher up off of the floor.

Judi, I googled that machine, wow, it's going to be a fun toy. What will you do as your first project on it? Your sister will appreciate having the extra feet. Enjoy the party today, I love a late lunch early dinner.

Maryz, I bet, before the weekend is over, you get that big cross stitch project started. Hope that leg behaves and gets better. Moose caught a squirrel a few weeks ago, so there is hope for Scottie.

Lois, you made chocolate chip cookies and didn't bring me any? oh gosh. That little town quilt is way above my skill level, it will be gorgeous, you make pretty things.

Jana, we are cloudy too and will see themid 70's through the weekend, next week we could hit 100. I also wouldn't go to Costco today.

Lori, I googled Grace Erra, what fun that class will be. Looking forward to hearing how you like it.

Lyn, I like Kaylyn's attitude, find a reason for a family get together and pull everyone together. Sounds like you went to all the fun places. You are the cool grandma.

Guess I will hit the shower and get my day started, dinner will be a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions. You all have a fab day
