Time to get On the Road Again.
Chriss, I'm glad you got fast answers, though not good news. I hope the meds help the ringing. I looked up meningioma, and it sounds very treatable. Thanks for the update on Marilyn, I, too, have been wondering about her.
MaryZ, How's the leg today?
I better get moving. Driving to Hays today, it's about 300 miles. Weather is good, but may have some wind gusts later.
I hope y'all have a good day.
Lyn

Good morning!
Looks like summer is here. But not. Still in whiplash weather season. Next week, we'll be lucky if the high makes 60. But today will be very nice.
Went out yesterday and saw that the street crew did get the street slurry coated. So that's done and not a worry for several more years! Got the new hose and water wand too. Even found a cute patriotic rooster for my yard. He jumped in the cart too.
Today, not much needs doing, so I'll turn on a Giants game and play in the Batt Cave.
Oh, the new, we'll, a year old pro hockey club, finally got a name. All last season, we were just known as the Utah Hockey Club, now we are the Utah Mammoth. Now the team is looking to name the mascot. Black and blue jerseys, Humm rather fitting for a ice hockey team, I think.
Well I'm off, may get into trouble,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning,
LYN - happy travels! You're off to Hays? When and where is the graduation you are aiming for? It's graduation season here, too. Imagine that coincidence! We got an announcement and party invitation to a young man we didn't even know existed. He is the son of my late husband's nephew. We've had no contact with any of that family branch for nearly 40 years. I don't even know how they had our address. I don't think we'll be attending.
JUDI - A yard work day for you? Did that gal ever come back for more hostas? What kind of fabric are you looking for for your backing? Sorry you never found your feet. (that sounds funny). Any chance they fell into your waste basket, got covered with scraps, etc, and tossed out when the basket was emptied? I've found many small tools that rolled into the basket so I try to keep it away from my work table and I also go through it before emptying it. Or would you have those feet tucked away with another project?
CHRISS - Glad the scan is done, though not so glad about all the findings. Saying a prayer that all works out well for you. The good news is that everything sounds very treatable. I can't help but wonder what symptoms you might have been having that caused the doctors to order this scan. What is Dad working on now? It can be exhausting to live with an ALZ patient. You are a treasure of a daughter to have a home where things need doing and thus you are giving your dad some much needed breaks.
JANA = glad the SS is all squared away. It's a pain to have to go into their office and 'take a number'. Good news on your hockey team names. I think "Rocky" would be a great name for your mascot since, you know, you're kind of in the Rocky Mtns.
LORI - I think an alpaca would look nice in your back yard. Save on mowing! But beware - as a kid, we staked one of our cows, MIssy, out front to mow the grass. That little black angus climbed the 6 concrete stairs, wandered into the house through the open door and we found her watching TV! With our duck, Quackers, sitting on her back. Life with farm animals can be interesting.
VALERIE - I'm sure it will be easy to be excused from jury duty. They let me go just because my son's wife was having surgery. No note or anything. I just asked and they said 'go home'. Once, years ago, we were gone for two months. At that time, neighbor Vicki was able to get mail but she insisted on sorting it. We found a jury summons for me tossed into what she called the trash pile. The deadline for reporting had long passed. I called them and they laughed and said people ignore them all the time. I didn't think you were supposed to do that . . . .
LOIS - What kind of puppy did your DBIL get? Name?
Yesterday was a much better day, though I did a bit of napping in the morning. I have 3 more llamas half sewn together. I'm doing them in threes because there are three of each color fabric. Today I plan to finish those 3 and cut out 3 more. I slept pretty well but was still up early. This morning the hip/leg (I sound so much like my mom here!) are better but still there. Pain level is down from 9 to about a 5. Hoping a few more days and it will be gone. It's better when I'm up, moving around. Bill has my NYB about 3/4 quilted and I hear the machine going now. He will probably finish it this morning so I guess I better start thinking of binding and label.
I think I might make some homemade chicken soup with wide egg noodles for our supper.
Hope your day is full of cotton and thread,
mary z

Re: Saturday May 10th 2025
Good Morning Girls
Now these are the kind of days I've waited for all winter!!! High of 76* and bright and sunny with a delightful breeze coming through open windows and doors!! Sorry I missed you all yesterday --had to hit the ground running at I had my annual medicare Dr. Check up! All good news, labs are perfect!
Judi.....OH take me with you to Home Depot!!! I'm itching to get up there for some plants for my patio! I still can't believe Ryke is old enough to be playing hockey tournaments. He was just a new baby yesterday!
Lyn... Hope you have calm breezes on the road to Hays!
Maryz... How is the leg this morning? Down to a 5 on pain level sounds like we're making progress. When I missed yesterday I didn't see the news about an offer on your house. It's hard to think of making such a big move. It can sure be over whelming to think of packing up everything and walking away from the home you've loved for so long. You have such a beautiful home, but I totally get how it can be a lot to care for---the older we get. I remember loving to mow my lawn, but it got to be just too much. Not sure how expensive houses are out there, but here in St. Michael, there isn't much less than $400,000. Kris's friend that's a realtor thinks they can get over $450. for my old house!! At least it's a decision you don't have to make right away. I'd just hate to see your beautiful yard all torn up for houses squished in together.
Jana... Sounds like you had a good experience with Social Security. I have to say that I too had nice folks when I had to call someone for help. My situation was pretty easy, as it was just me I had to worry about. Always nice to have an extra "pay check"
Chriss... OH MY goodness!!! I read your post from yesterday about your scan results!! So glad you went in to get things checked out, but not happy with the results. From what I googled, it looks like they caught things early. You know you will be in constant prayers! So Mar is getting married? Sometimes breaking up and getting back together is a good. Dex and I broke up before he finally realized what a good thing he had.
Though it didn't end all that well!
Valerie.... Were you able to call anybody to get out of jury duty? I've never been called, and think it might be interesting. Shawn got called by our county when he was living in Canada, so he definitely got out of it. That is rude to schedule a flight at 4:00 and assume that somebody will take you to the airport.. Call him an Uber!!! When I schedule my flights I always look to see who is able to take me or pick me up.
Not sure the plan of the day is here. After Dr. appointment yesterday I ran into WM for a groceries--veggies mostly and didn't get a darn thing done when I got home. Dr. wants me to have high protein diet-- 130gm a day! and eat 5 times a day!!! Man I'll be spending the day in the kitchen! My A1C is back up a little so I better watch my carbs closer---man I miss good bread and noodles! Theoretically today is chore day and I know I should wash a couple floors and run a dust rag, but am thinking I'll do that on Wednesday before I head to Wisconsin on Thursday so it will be nice and clean when I get home!
Wishing you all a Super Saturday

Re: Saturday May 10th 2025
Maryq, your weather sounds perfect. We're going to be 99* today then drop 11 degrees tomorrow, and back to normal on Monday. Does your doctor want you to eat 5 meals a day, or will snack in between meals count? Did they at least give you a meal plan idea? I think waiting on chores is always a good idea.
Chriss, my goodness woman, that's a lot to take in. Hopefully the meningioma is benign and you'll be fine. The bacterial infection sounds nasty though. I'm sure the antibiotics will get rid of that. Maybe find a neuro
doctor closer to you son in case you need help with something. And how is the family? I bet little Elliott is growing like a weed. He must be scooting around pretty good by now. The repetitiveness of someone with Alzheimer's can be exhausting. When my dad would keep repeating things, I would try and distract him with something else to get his brain going in a different direction. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't .
Maryz, glad you pain is down a bit. Funny, an invitation to a party for someone you don't know. I've gotten those before too. I think they were wanting a gift. What will you do with that beautiful quilt when it's finished?
Jana, we too are having whiplash weather. It's hot, hot, hot, but will return to lovely by mid week. Glad you got the water situation done. Those new flowers will need a little extra if it's hot.
Lyn, safe travel to Hays today. Hopefully the wind will wait until you get to your destination.
Judi, that's nice weather for working in the yard.
We got our walk in early today. It was already hot when I left the house at 0815. We'll be back to normal by mid week. The house is open, but will be closing up early today. The weather app says 99*. Way to hot for May. That's more like August weather. Glad it's not sticking around. I'll work on quilting my GFG once the air goes on. I did a bit yesterday. I really need to go though my fabrics and things and figure out what's what. I usually do it the beginning of the year, but I was a bit busy then. I'll make teriyaki chicken and rice for dinner. I think there some fresh broccoli in the fridge as well.
Have a lovely day.

Re: Saturday May 10th 2025
Good morning. It's going to be a hot day today.
I had to wait till this morning to do my watering, it was too hot to water last night. My tomatoes were happy for the nice cool drink of water this morning.
Today the parents will be here. Dad projects seem to take days to finish. And they seem to get a later start than they should, in my opinion. But, it also gets them out of the house and allows me to see how they are doing.
Judi, sorry about the weeds, my windows still need doing but that sun just beats on them, you'd have to do them at night. Enjoy the game. Thanks for the prayers. I figure if they were worried about me they would get me in and get me fixed. It's pretty much just monitor it for now. No telling how long it's been there, but if they decide to take it out it will come out for sure.
Lyn, I'm hoping your travels are uneventful. I'm pretty optimistic about all of this, it's going to be whatever it ends up being. God has my life figured out, I just follow along
Jana, I like the Utah Mammoth, but my question is. If Judi's team tosses an octopus on the ice what will your team toss?
Maryz, glad your pain level is ebbing. Also glad Bill is moving along on that quilt. It's really going to be a jaw dropper. I also think Lori should get an Alpaca and start turning it's wool into yarn and knit something. Personally, I'm thinking, since God has plans, the CT scan was ordered. I had ringing in my ears, my doctor decided to order the scan rather than start with an ear doctor. Now he's finding me a neurologist.
Well, Marilyn called and poof, the morning just blew by. Nothing like an hour and a half gab session to make the day happier.
Maryq, ugh, diets. I'm pretty low carb and still have to watch what I eat. Sometimes I wish there were fewer things to eat so we'd all be on a good diet. Glad your labs, for the most part, are good. Enjoy Wisconsin, sounds like fun. Mar is getting married, someday. Just because she went from single to engaged doesn't mean it will or won't happen. I offered her my and Jerry's wedding rings so we will see where that goes. Thanks for the prayers.
Lori, it is a lot but I am also hoping for a benign result. My son has said he would make sure I got to where I needed to go. He and family are doing fine. Elliott is eating more solid food and sitting up, he still hasn't crawled or scooted much, a little but not much. He's now 8 months old. We should also be in the 90's today and cooling a little tomorrow. I did uncover my A/C and turned it on yesterday. Alz is exhausting, I am very thankful that at least she is kind with most of the things she says. I'm taking her for a hair appointment on Wednesday, hoping that goes well.
Dinner, I really, once again, haven't decided what it will be. I'll have to thaw something out I guess.
Too hot to play outside, guess I'll do some vac'ing.
Have a super rest of the day
Chriss
