Good morning,

JUDI - you should be well on your way home by now. Are you going back the way you came or a different route? How many miles, overall, from house to house? Be safe!

LYN - sorry about the bead frogging. It happens. Nope, sorry, no Coopers in my family history that I know of. But we do have Hauber, Hober, Darrin, Brooks, Nickel, & Austin among others that I can't pull out of my brain right now. Some of them have oozed from MN into NE, OK, etc.

DIANE - is the fire out now? I hope Joe is having a better day today.

MARY Q - did I miss you yesterday?

JANA - congrats on losing that stubborn pound! It must have really liked it's cozy home! I like your plan of setting smaller goals. Much easier to achieve.

TINA - Will there be wind and dust again today? Can Frankie see through it when he goes outside to feed the chickens? I know in blizzards in the old days they ran a rope from house to barn so they people wouldn't get lost. How is your foot feeling day after PT?

CHRISS - sounds like you need to buy your vinegar and baking soda at Costco! We also have a fountain on our deck and add vinegar to it to keep mosquitos from laying their eggs in the water. The developer who bought Vicki's property (2-1/2 acres) plans to put 8 large new homes in. We bought a Ninja Foodie a few years ago and didn't like it at all. It wasn't tall enough to slide even a little casserole in. So we let Grandson Alec have that and we went back to Coscto and got a Cuisinart toaster Oven/air fryer. It works has 7 different functions and works really well. We even take it camping if we know we'll have an electric hook-up. I hardly ever use my big oven any more with only the two of us. Our last Cuisinart toaster oven lasted 15 years. I hope this one does, too.

TINA B - I haven't used that formula for cleaning, but I think I will now! How are you and your DH feeling after your surgeries last year?

LORI - you really seem to fill your days with a wide variety of activities! Glad Dad is feeling a little better. Do you know the total acres burned in the L.A. fires? We were in TX at the time and after the first few days the news went on to other things. I was thinking of orange chicken for tonite, too, but I think we are out of rice. Can't believe that. We buy it at Costco, pack it in zip bags, and freeze it. It seems never ending, until suddenly it is. Ended, that is.

Today we have another memorial service to go to. Our second in 6 days. We need to stop at a drug store for a sympathy card and Costco to pick up pet Rx's. This afternoon I will finish #23 and start the dusting/wood polishing downstairs. There is a lot to do. I got very little accomplished yesterday. Vacuumed my quilting room, prepped NYB #23 and got it 1/3 sewn, and reheated leftover pork chops and scalloped potatoes. And we watched the equipment come into Vicki's place. They had to clear limbs and widen the driveway to get two big machines in. They started with the garage, tearing it apart. I think by the end of the day today, the house will be gone. They let us salvage the wood stove to give to my massage therapist who needs one and even helped us get it to our house using our tractor. They said they aren't going to start clearing the property yet, but gave no date when that might happen. It's like a boreal forest over there. While we're cheering the house to be gone, we'll be sad when the trees go but we're starting to adjust to the thought of it. Life changes.

Have a fab friday!

Good morning!

Snowed overnight, so the roads willbe slick! We have to go out on those roads, but not for a little while. Not enough snow on them to plow, but with the rain first, it's a ice rink!

So when we get back home, I'll be in my closet, thinning out the herd. I have waaaay too many dresses and most are a bit too big, so I'll donate them. Then there's room, if find a new dress. :)

So not much else around here.

Enjoy the day!

Hugs,
Jana

High clouds, 70's and wind 14 - 31 mph today. The dead palm bark pieces will be falling and making a mess.

Mary, Good to have the house gone so there's no sqatters, not good at the number of houses going in. Is that the density of other developments around you? Has the final plat been approved or could you go to the planning commission and ask that it be fewer houses?

Judi, Safe travels.

Diane, How's Joe?

Chriss, I cook acorn squash the same as spaghetti squash, then cut in half end to end and scoop out seeds. We leave the skin on, it's like a boat. We melt butter and put sugar or Stevia to sweeten and eat down to the skin. It's yummy.

Lori, Cleaning out the parents house isn't easy, been there, done that. Hugs

Yesterday Diana and I went to several antique stores. In Corpus there's one area that is called Antique Mall, with 4 stores in a row. I saw a 1917 Singer 99 hand crank that was tempting and a toy sewing machine that was OK, but I thought the price was too high. The last place had a red toy sewing machine, a 1950's KAYanEE SEW MASTER, made in Germany. It's in good shape and so it came home with me. :D

Today I need to do some laundry and run dishwasher, plus whatever is on the never ending list. Dinner will be chicken thighs, zucchini and wild rice in the Ninja foodi.

Have a great day.

Good morning everyone, 1 more week! I will see a patient tomorrow and then maybe 4 to 6 visits next week, waiting to hear. I am not traveling to Timbukto though. Yesterday went to Windsor which is 60 miles from my house. Just too far. Really tired when I got home. Then I don't get anything done. Knee is acting up this AM. Was trying to sew but taking a break. I did my sleep study test. It shows I have moderate sleep apnea and they want me to try a CPAP machine. I will wait until after our trip as I have too many things to do between now and then. Don't want to worry about anything new.

Should get to the high 60's today. Hoping it does.

Maryz that's a lot of houses to replace just one? Yes, always sad to see the forest disappear. Nice though to give you the wood stove. I am surprised her kids didn't claim it. Was everything else gone? Not a big fan of pork but I have not had scalloped potatoes in forever. They sure sound good.

Judi safe travels to you. That is a long way in 2 days. DH thinks like that too. I get tired in the car real quick and have to stop just to stand and stretch my legs. I will start spring cleaning after our trip. Lots to go through.

Jana going through clothes will be on my agenda also. I don't where 75% of what I have. Glad Sarah found the million dollars.

Chriss I am not too much on toaster ovens. Sears has a service you pay $60 a month and they send out repair people. It is a $100 deductable and they are supposed to fix what is wrong. They are supposed to replace the appliance if not repairable. So fair there has been an issue both times we have called. First time took 4 months to get the part. Repair guy said it shouldn't have been more that a week. We haven't had more than a sprinkle of rain if that. Certainly not the rain they said would come.

Lyn great find. I have contemplated getting a small antique machine but not sure I would use it. Probably shouldn't spend the money on something that is just going to sit there and collect dust.

So I was looking at the classes at the LQS I usually go to. Not only is there no more Free Sew, but the UFO classes have all gone up. They have increased the % they get for the classes so teachers are increasing their charges. With a fixed income, that is kicking me out of lots. But that's okay. I can sew at home.

Tina we should quit c/o the rain here, would much rather have rain than dust. I would not be able to breathe.

I need to get back to my sewing, still trying to do homework for my last MC class on Monday. Lori the MC is done in Blues, cream and tan.

Have a great day

Lyn Love acorn squash, I mix cinnamon with sweetener though and do it in the crock pot.

Good morning. It's supposed to be a dry day today The sun is shinning and it's promises to be a beautiful day.

Tonight, is bingo. There are quite a few games and the prizes are cash, but I usually just pay to play and don't see a return. It is fun though. Not sure what I will do today, hoping to straighten out my sewing room, it's kind of a disaster.

Lori, I agree about cheese. I see so many recipes and think that if they didn't have melted cheese on top no one would read the recipe. Moose hears me open the ziplock bag of cheese and is instantly at my side. Glad they have a better handle on your dad's pain management. Wasn't wanting to hear about you going all crazy lady on them and calling me to post bail. They were wise to make adjustments before that happened.

Maryz, Just what I am looking for in a oven, not a slide out drawer but something with a window that I can see the casserole dish inside. It has to be roomy inside and looking at Amazon I just can't tell. Perhaps I will check out WM and Costco this morning. I'd like it to replace my microwave. Vinegar seems to be the go to thing to clean stuff out or kill things. Kind of scarry that we put it in out bodies. Hope the houses they are going to build bring you some good neighbors. There is a development going in across from me, it's still pretty far but I can see two houses being built. As properties get sold developers develop.

Judi, spell check was funny but I understood completely. It sounds like a fast trip home to me too but it's like horses who smell the water, they rush to it.

Jana, I'm so excited for you, getting to get rid of big clothes is so much fun. Save those hangers because the rule is if there is an empty hanger you get to put something on it.

Lyn, I will try an acorn squash. I've tried butternut and probably won't buy it again. Are you going to decorate your cabin in toy sewing machines, I googled yours and it's pretty cool. I'm not a fan of palm trees because of the mess they make.

Valerie, this time next week you will be sitting in your chair with a cup of coffee and your feet up wondering what you will be doing for the day. It will be good to be you! I have sleep apnea and use a cpap machine. It saved my life. I didn't realize it until after my study but I had stopped breathing once a minute while I slept. I was falling asleep all day long, even in the car. I have an appointment scheduled in May to get a refferal to have another sleep study. While it would be nice to not use a machine, it is certainly a life saver. Sewing classes have all gone up here too. With so many tutorials online I don't even look at quilt shop classes anymreo.

Last night's dinner was leftover spaghetti, tonight will be the chicken and bacon I didn't have last night. but now it's time for breakfast and perhaps a trip into town. You all have a fabulous day.

Maryz, your NY Beauty is beautiful. Makes me want to make one even more. You are a bad influencer. There is never a dull moment here. I always have something to do. I don't understand how people can get bored. Having 8 houses will be a big change. Here in SoCal they try and pack as many houses into a space as they can.

Chriss, I hope you are a big winner at Bingo tonight. I signed up for a Bingo game day next Saturday. I'm sure it will be fun. Oh yes, Jack and Wrigley know the sound of a cheese bag opening mile away. They could be dead asleep, I open the cheese and turn around to find both are right behind me. Same with the peanut butter jar. Glad you have my back.

Valerie, most all the shops have gone up on their prices. The only one that hasn't is our guild. We're still charging $35 for a class. I'm taking David Owen Hastings next week for this price. I can't wait. We have some good speakers and workshops this year. Since you'll have more time, maybe you can find a guild in your area.

Lyn, sounds like you made a nice purchase. Our neighbors used to have palm trees. When it was windy all the large fronds would end up in our yard. They never had their trees trimmed. Bill just started throwing them back over the fence.

Jana, hope you didn't go slipping and sliding around. Do you have snow tires on your car?

Judi, you should be half way home by now. I bet you'll be glad to be home in your own bed tomorrow. Safe travels.

Well I thought the rain was over, but no. I went and washed the car and an hour later it's raining. Good thing it's in the garage. If I need to go anywhere, I take Bill's car. It's in the driveway already wet. I had my bridge class this morning. It was a nice distraction. And as I said, washed the car. I also went to Trader Joe's to pick up some groceries, then to visit dad. He's doing okay. Pretty much out of it, but he's not having pain. He did talk to me a bit and I gave him some juice. I need to finish up my little
Spring wool projects I started a while back. I need to get them done and send them off to my friend in AZ.

I think we'll have chicken alfredo for dinner with zucchini.

Have a lovely evening.
