I slept well, but woke up early - 0330. But if you count the nap I took in my chair last night, I did get 7-1/2 hrs sleep so I guess that's enough. So here I am!
TINA - could you share a photo of the pattern you are looking for? I no longer have magazines that old, but I do remove the patterns that appeal and put them in a binder. I Googled the pattern you are looking for and found several different quilts called Garden Pathways.
CHRISS - hope you find the eggs you want at a price you like. I hope eggs aren't like fabric - raise the price because of temporary scarcity, but never drop the price again. I get your weed eating experiment. I would think it would be better to keep it all down while still green. Especially in your area where it gets so hot and dry and fires start if you merely whisper the word "fire". But then I don't do the weed eating so what do I know . . I have worn lined bifocals since I was 11. It would be weird now to not have them. My mom wore trifocals so she could play the piano.
MARY Q - Maybe I should stop into Tacoma's Joann's when I go pick up my machine next week. It has been understaffed for the past few years and has had dirty floors with lots of dust bunnies. Bathrooms had broken fixtures, etc. But I really could use some extra small rotary cutter blades for curved cutting. Otherwise, I think I'm pretty well stocked on everything. Did you find any treasures yesterday when you went out with Peg? I'm flying to AK with my sis in 3 weeks and I'm practice packing, taking as little as I can get by with so I will have room for treasures. Because my sis will probably want to hit the thrift shops in FBX even before we see our brother! lol! When in FBX last Aug, we had to mail home our 'treasures'!
JANA - sounds like everything is coming up roses at your house this week! Crossing fingers it stays that way! Two new computers to play with! Lots of fun (and maybe a little frustration?) at your house in the next few days learning all the new stuff.
JUDI - I was in a quilt shop some years ago (long before Covid) in Westport on the coast (2 hrs away). It was closing and the owners were very bitter about it, blaming customers for shopping on the internet instead. They made no effort to hide their anger and it permeated the store's atmosphere. They started griping at customers the minute they walked in the door. No wonder people didn't want to shop in there! The store was filled with bad energy. I'm glad you found a happier place to go!
LOIS - I hope Bill's neck improves. After my chiro appt I feel like I got a super massage packed into 15 minutes.
VAL - How are you doing on your FPP homework? Wish I was there! In the back of the APQ magazines they always have a Back to Basics section and most issues cover a very simple explanation of paper piecing. And that is where I finally "got it". Sometimes I still have to "think it out" so I keep that APQ lesson handy.
LORI - I'm glad your hubby is OK. My late DH#2, Roy, died of cardiomyopathy/heart failure just after his 45th birthday. We'd only been married 15 months. So I go on alert when someone mentions any kind of possible cardiac issues. And, yep - I guess I got distracted from my quilting!

Yesterday I finished NYB block #16 and have #17 half done. "Only" 37 more to go. The weather was so nice that we both spent the afternoon outside working in the yard. Bill blew off the roof, cleaned the gutters, and then blew the cement parking pads. I cleaned out a 4x25 ft flower bed that is mostly a row of rhodies, gave them a severe pruning (which will limit the number of blossoms come May but they needed it), pruned one rose, and fertilized everything. Today will be even nicer - 60* and sunny - so I'll be outside again, in another part of the yard. And since it's going to be so nice, I'm thinking we will grill chicken out on the deck for supper with alfredo noodles and a big salad.
Hope everyone's day is a good one!
