Chriss, that is a great picture. I bet that picture will bring a smile to your face for years to come. It's good to be you. I'm finally starting to go though my moms things. My dad left everything as is after she died in 2021. I try and do a little each week. Eventually it will get done. There's no hurry. And we are having sad dog faces today. It started raining at 0700 and hasn't stopped. It's supposed to break this afternoon. I sure hope so for Jack and Wrigley's sake.
Judi, homemade tortillas are fabulous. We use to go to a place in Las Vegas where you could watch them make the tortillas at the front of the restaurant. They served them hot with salsa instead of chips. So yummy. Hope your travels are going well.
Lyn, I'm not sure why an audit of our funds wasn't done sooner. I like Elon. He's a really smart man.
Maryq, I'm looking forward to seeing your quilt. No, dad will never be able to return to his house. He's currently in a BNC with 24 hour care.
Jana, that's a lot for a class, but working with stained glass is expensive. The tools and materials alone would cost a bunch if you had to buy your own. We have a lot of that glass from when Bill was doing Mosaics.
Tina, stay away from the sickies. You don't need to get sick along with everything else. Sure hope the dust settles. Maybe you'll get the rain we're having. Crazy about the road closures. I'm sure they have an emergency plan in place if that happens. Or maybe not.
Maryz, the stone was pretty big. You'll definitely want to eat something before your friend gets there. Dang, 9pm is late for you. Hope they figure out that house situation next door. My dad's house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and the neighbors keep an eye out. I'm up there most days to at least get the mail and check the water I leave out for the feral cats in the area.
I went to see dad this morning when the nurse was there. He was acting strange and said he was in pain. Apparently he has another UTI. I kind of figured that was what it was. I did my drawing class on line this morning but had to leave it early. I'll need to go over this lesson again. I'm not fully understanding 2 point perspective. We'll I need to clean up some messes and maybe sew something.
We'll have leftover soup for dinner.
Have a lovely day.

Re: WEDNESDAY, February 12th, 2025
I'm back, taking a break from the day.
Chriss, I knew your Gramma Day would be wonderful! LOVE your happy photo! You've got good lookin' menfolk in your family! I hope you enjoy the Ag show. Since this is sort of your son's career, isn't it? Nice of you to teach a newbie how to put together a quilt. And what a good use of all those misc squares.
LYN - I hope you get to go back to the coast soon. You've been really busy at the house and could use a break, I bet. It actually was my massage therapist, David, who was in the accident. He had to have spinal surgery, cervical region, Feb 4th, but is improving. I'm not sure when he'll be able to go back to work. But he would thank you for asking. I look at Elon Musk as a sort of auditor. Many businesses have auditors come in periodically, inspect where the money is going, and advise changes as necessary. And the government is a big business and past time to be audited. Several billion also went to Pakistan for a power plant. And the plant was never built. But our money, yours and mine, is gone. It's in somebody's pocket. . .
JANA - I only tried making tortillas once. It wasn't a great success. My favorite Mexican food, besides a margarita, is also chili relleno, beans, and rice but a cheese enchilada is hard to beat. We have a friend who is a glass artist. Not stained glass but an artist using glass as his medium. He has ovens and is getting well renowned for his art. All after a career in the Bremerton Shipyard as a welder. He goes all over the country and even Europe teaching now and his art is getting pretty expensive. We have one of his pieces, a 12x18 glass picture of Mt Rainier, one of my precious pretties. His classes are about $1,000. https://www.pnwglassguild.org/articles/ ... eyport-wa/ If you check out his website you'll see a photo of him holding his little white dog, Solo. Solo pee'd on my rug a few years ago!
MARY Q - Sorry one of your columns misbehaved and went on wrong. Glad it's fixed now though. And, no, the developers didn't know a squatter/burglar was living in Vicki's house. He thought it was all locked up. Ha! That house has never been locked! We walked through it now and then just to keep tabs on it. The power was cut over a year ago. I don't know about water. Vicki had her own well. There is a very nice wood stove as well as a fireplace for warmth, and since we were gone, our woodshed was pretty handy. But I don't really know if he helped himself. We have 8 cameras all over our property and signs telling trespassers to smile so I doubt he helped himself to our firewood.
JUDI - you must be almost there for the night by now. Are you sewing while you ride?
TINA - there sure is a lot of hard cases of flu around the country. Glad it's almost run its course through your family. I stopped in our Goodwill this morning for a quick looksee. Everybody in there was sniffling, coughing, etc. I thought of you and Lois and I got the heck out of there! (But not before I found a really cute red skirt for me and a little Seahawks shirt size 3T.
I hope those windstorms will be over soon.
Well, I'm off to my sewing room to sort out all the fabrics I took to Texas or collected on the way home and put them back into my stash. Then I need to get Amara's little birthday quilt ready for quilting. Friend Doyle is stopping by soon for something, and Tex will be by at 4pm. Plus we need to BBQ our burgers and eat before Tex gets here. So the afternoon is filling up.
Gotta run!
