Good afternoon. It's going to be a beautiful day today.

Already went for a walk with a friend this morning. I was going to go grocery shopping but will wait until Friday morning. I want to sew today. The plan is to make a few receiving blankets and hopefully sandwich that pinwheel quilt.

I'm anxious to get started on the first kiss quilt. Oddly there is also a quilt called love is. Both quilts use the same panel but one of them has an additional panel? In any event, I have three panels and won't use all of them but will use parts of each. I'm befuddled.

Jana, so glad it's not Whooping cough. How can they not make cough syrup? Not even by perscription? Hope PT goes quickly.

Maryz, I'd take those nachos and that salad and mix them together and call it a taco salad, really, it's a thing, google it. Hope the hitch comes in and is installed quickly

Lois, I love chili and soups or stews. I just don't make them because I don't have the freezer space and it's not easy to make soup for one or two bowls.

Tina, hoping the foot stuff gets fixed. I also had to get my vaccines updated if I wanted to give my grandson a squeeze. WC was one and so was TDAP. I get covid and flu yearly but now am old enough to the the pneumonia shot because they lowered the age.

Lyn, funny about the temperature reader. I also worry about water. I like to keep it moving and sometimes will go around and open every faucet and flush every toilet just so it keeps flowing. And I check the outside faucets too, they are wrapped but I still have to give them a look.

Maryq, there is an app called Watchduty.org. I have it on my phone and computer. It will give you information about the fires in the USA. It also alerts me if there is a fire in my area. I think Lori is the closest but still safe. I don't know which direction the fire is traveling. Valerie and I are way far away.

Judi, I need to make a Costco run. I buy their hamburger and put it in smaller packages and also make up meatloaf for future dinners. I also buy already boiled and peeled eggs and rotisserie chicken.

Really enjoying playing in my room now that I can see. Here I go, off to make receiving blankets.

Dinner, I have some leg quarters already cooked and will add broccoli. Had chili cheese dogs last night, if you could please remind me next time I have a craving for them that chili isn't my friend I would appreciate it.

You all have a splendid day. This is how mine started, such a beautiful sunrise. I took the picture looking out my sewing room window. Glad I was awake to see it.

Well we got snow! They had to close the schools and send the kids home. Our high ended up only being 28°. Jazmyne came over, her Papa is teaching her how to weld, she has to practice for 1 of her classes.
Sadly with all this snow it has brought some major wrecks on the highways, there was a 30 car pile up, a 20+ car pile up and at least 5 more wrecks and a school bus wrecked, thankfully no kids were on it.
I have 1 more placemat at the same stage as the others, I'm taking a break before the next one.
Stay warm and safe!

Happy Evening of Jan. 8th,

TINA - glad you got your snow, but prayers being said for everyone involved in the accidents. That's a lot of wrecked vehicles!

I texted Lori and Carol, both So Cal folks, to see if they are near the fires in L.A. Both are safe - at least for the moment. Prayers they stay that way. And more prayers for those who are caught in those fires. I read that Dick Van Dyke's house was at serious risk. At age 99 he was outside with a hose trying to save his home. His neighbors helped, took him to safety, and at last report, his house was spared.

We've had another good day with our little girl. But when we got home, my sister who just had hip replacement surgery on Dec 16 texted me - my nephew has been on Kidney transplant list for 5+ years finally got "the call" just as Sis was texting me. So entire CO contingent of my family is off to the hospital. I know there's a lot to pray for right now, but if you have one more prayer my neice's husband, Charlie, sure could use it. Charlie has been married to my niece, Marcie, for about 35 years. They were high school sweethearts. Surgery is starting just about now. Also prayers for the donor family. Thank you.

I'll be back in the morning.

That is such a blessing and miracle! Many prayers for all involved, that the surgery will be successful.
