Good morning my friends I’m up dressed meds taken and exhausted. You don’t know how tiring just your regular activities can be. I’m doing OK trying not to take the big shot. Pain pills because all I do is sleep and I need to move more. I will be going down to therapy today, which will be a ton of fun if you know what I mean, I hope you’re all having a great day sewing for me because I really miss my sewing room and can’t wait to get home XXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOO

Good morning, Ladies!

JUDI - What a stellar patient you are! How long are your PT sessions? Just once a day? When you walk the halls, do you just walk or are you needing a walker or cane? Just think, 2 more sleeps and your first week will be done! Tonite my Seattle Seahawks play your Detroit Lions. It could get interesting . . .

CHRISS - your special little guy is ADORABLE!! And you holding him with such love in your face is, too! So happy you got to go visit him. And the kids were so appreciative of the meals you took along. That was a huge way you could help them, I'm sure. Thank you so much for the photos - you know we were all there with you in spirit! And btw, I'm sure I'd like your meatloaf and everyone else's. It's my own I don't like. I've just lost my touch.

LYN - I love your little neighbor! I bet he'd like a little Roady food. Maybe he'd move into your 'neighborhood' (aka yard) permanently! Thanks for the photos. We had one visit us at our RV in Austin last year. Foxy watched him intently but gave him a pass.

LORI - I'm so sorry about your DH's friend. Suicide is so awful for family and friends. I do meatballs, too. I buy the frozen ones at Costco. And Bill has requested that from now on, instead of meatloaf, I make salisbury steak, aka, hamburger patties instead. lol! I made them while we were camping last week and he loved them. I'm so glad your Dad is on board with the BNC plan. That will make everything so much easier for him and for you.

JANA - Thanks for your recipe. In fact, I thank everyone for their recipes. I've tried many close to yours. Tina's is just like I always made it in the past. Maybe we just don't like meatloaf. I've tried the panade, too. This latest recipe was Martha Stewart's mother's recipe. But it was wonderful last night when I chunked it up into spaghetti sauce! So all was not lost. You have lots of clothes that need ironing! We wear mostly jeans and tee shirts here. I can't remember the last time I ironed a piece of clothing. Oh wait! yes - I ironed a sleeveless blouse last July. It was exhausting!

IRISH - Did any effects from the hurricane reach you? rain? wind? I found out yesterday that my DD#1 (Lara and Lee) were traveling home to Alexandria, VA from visiting friends in TN and were caught near Ashville, NC and forced to stay overnight in a motel there with no power or water. It was scary.

TINA - you really ARE deep cleaning if you're washing the walls! I hope the dusty winds have settled down for the year. Are you getting ready for the holidays? And will you do Holly's house next? Your meatloaf is how I've always made it except when I start thinking I could "improve" on it. And I top it with a mix of ketchup, brown sugar, and a few drops of smoke flavoring. Maybe I'll try one more time . . .

MARY Q - I gave up making meatballs, too. Not because they were awful (they really weren't too bad) but because I'm lazy and Costco's frozen ones are so much better. And if you have to take an appetizer to a party (holidays are coming up!) put them in a crockpot for about 4 hours with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. People love them! My arm was a bit sore from my shots, but I never react to the flu shot. But I get really tired from the Covid immunizations. But it's a whole lot better than having Covid!

LOIS - now you've got us all hankering for turkey! I was just mentioning to Bill last night that I want to have a dinner for a few couples before we leave for Texas. A turkey breast would be purrfect! Thanks for a great idea! I've always said you are a trend setter! And I'll make turkey pot pies for the trailer freezer for "road meals".

My energy level is back up and I got double the yard work done than I'd planned to do plus got all my yard art put away for the winter. Today I will finish it up. Just a little more to do. Funny how less fastidious I am now at age 73 than I was when I bought this property at age 35. I used to work outside 10 hours a day for two weeks to make everything purrfect. Now - 3 short afternoons and I'm happy. And it's time to start cleaning inside the house. Every day I squeeze in a little time to fiddle around in my sewing room. Though, my sew-jo right now is weak. I think I need a new, exciting project. But I don't dare say that to Autumn or I'll be overloaded! lol! I do have a new pattern, The Quilted Snowman, by Lori Holt I bought when QIAD had it on sale about 6 weeks ago. It's a large quilt and so cute. Maybe I'll start pulling fabric for it.

Just and FYI, Cindy is having a hip replacement and has asked for prayers. This is her second hip plus she had a shoulder done last year.

We're having tacos for supper tonite. I mentioned that to Bill and his eyes lit up. We'll be eating during the football game tonite - Go Hawks!

Have a marvy Monday!

Good morning!

What glorious pictures to wake up too! Nothing better than a snuggly baby and a happy grandma! Thanks Chriss, we needed that!

Today around here will be a just a puttering doing stuff day. Small things that need to get done. It's cloudy and gray, most likely a few drops of rain. The kids are back in school. They had a couple days off for parent teacher conferences, and that will happen again the end of the week. These are timed around General Conference and many families take off for Disneyland. Mine are staying home this time. Maybe there will be baking at Grandma's and share in the neighborhood. We'll see........

Sewing and puttering, puttering and sewing, that's the plan,

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning Girls

Here we go again!! Another new week and another new month starting tomorrow. Can you believe it??? OCTOBER!!!

Judi... It's so good to see you post in the morning. I know these days are tough for you... PT cannot be fun by any stretch of the imagination, but you're a week (tomorrow) Post-Op so hopefully things should be a bit easier? Can you take Ibu? Or only Tylenol. When the pain level gets up there a bit, go for the "good stuff"! Napping is good remember... a lot of healing takes place when you sleep!!

Maryz.. Sweet Baby Rays is the only BBQ sauce I buy!! But for meatballs, I use Chili Sauce and even tho this sounds crazy... a can of whole cranberry sauce, and tisch of brown sugar and a few other things... It's Out Of This World delicious! That's the frustrating part about being 73 ---I just can't do the things I used to be able to do--like open a jar, or climb a ladder or haul bags of water softener salt. But I can still mop a floor and run a dust rag and push a vacuum--I proved it yesterday when I got all that done. Tacos? A much better alternative to meatloaf if you ask me!

Chriss.... I know your arms are full of baby today and am just so darn thrilled for you!!! That baby is precious. How long will you be there? Hopefully you can stay for a few days at least!

I'll just send a brief hello to the rest of you that will be stopping by later this morning. I'm going to hop in the shower and then go meet my SIL Laurie for lunch. Brother Tim & Laure live way over on the east side of St. Paul, so we found a half way point to meet. No real reason I guess, just for the heck of it. She may put some stuff in the craft fair with me, but don't think we'll worry about that today. She has one of the huge Cricut machine--a gift from her boss when she retired and she does the most amazing things with it.. I should show you some pictures.. it's amazing!

When I get home I'll probably head to the sewing room and work on a few simple aprons for the craft fair. I think they will be the last things to do then I can get back to working on any one of an number of quilt projects!

So Off I go wishing you a Marvelous Monday and sending prayers for healing for Judi and for Cindyg's hip!!!

Good morning. It's going to be a fantastic day today.

Bathrooms and floors are the priority, after that it's baby sewing. Did you all know there is a new baby in my life? I want to get that quilt finished and make another receiving blanket or two.

Judi, enjoy your fun filled day. lol. I bet it is hard to stay awake and be active. You're still letting the anesthesia wear off and have to perform. Glad you are mobile. I know someone who had a knee replaced, didn't do therapy and had nothing but trouble with the knee.

Maryz, I don't put in an 8 hour day anymore either. Sometimes I don't even put any time on the clock. I've never tried Costco meatballs. Amazing how much prepared food there is that is marvelous. I'll check out the meatballs. I think the next time I make the kids a bunch of meals I will get the Costco already off the bone rotisserie chicken. It's also very good. I have been known to put orange, red and yellow peppers in my meatloaf.

Jana, He is a keeper for sure and has been amply smooched and gently squeezed. I think baking day with grandma is a great idea.

Maryq, I'm home. It was a one day visit. They aren't really set up to have overnight guests and they are still nervous parents. I think today's generation has just too much internet to read and believe. Enjoy your lunch, I love lunch, or any meal out.

My parents will be here today. Dad is getting things done. He has lots of plans for my house and I am so grateful.

I hope you all have a super day.

Good morning!

We have been without internet for over 40 hours - the horror! Apparently the new local terrorist thing to do is hit the fibernet infrastructures. The law enforcement agencies said they'd been gunning for them the last couple of week, well they succeeded Friday and brought down the biggest internet provider out here in the sticks. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I sure missed Alexa (don't tell her). Jim tried watching the Broncos game on his phone. :( We're still not completely stable, so I'd best sign off before they ping it again.

Chriss - what a beautiful picture of grandma and grandson. He is a cuddle bug for sure.

Hope to be back for a proper visit tomorrow.

xoxo Sharona

Chriss, I like Lois' idea of putting Elliot in your bag and bringing him home. Do you think the kids would miss him? He is absolutely adorable. Hope you got your sewing in today.

Judi, glad you are working though things. You'll be home in no time.

Sharona, bummer about the fiber optics. Us older folks could survive, but I don't know about the younger generation. They rely on technology for everything.

Maryq, the Cricut machine is fun. You can do all kinds of things with it. Hope you had a fun lunch.

Maryz, I would buy the frozen turkey meatballs for dad, but when I make beef they're always from scratch. I use the herbs in my garden. I used to be picky about things, now it's just get it done good enough. Glad you energy is back to normal. Thanks for the info on Cindy.

Dad's been coming over every afternoon into the evening. He said he doesn't like being alone. Only a few more days. At least tomorrow the care giver will be there in the afternoon.

Cereal is dinner tonight.

Sleep well.
