Good afternoon from a very warm, sunny, summery, SW. Pa.....
1st, Jana, prayers will definitely be said for that young fellow...Out there doing a good deed and then this to happen, so sad......We all know the power of prayer, he will recover and hopefully, quickly.....
The last couple of weeks have been absolutely crazy..Trying to get myself back on both feet has been interesting...Hitting my right ankle bone with the boot on my left leg was worse than the messing up the tendon...It's been 2 weeks, the boot is off but the swelling in the right foot and ankle is terrible and being on a blood thinner, you sure turn colors, quickly....My left knee is completely black and blue, have no idea what I did, my left eye is blood shot, from a broken vein and yesterday, while driving up the highway, I had a nosebleed...I'll tell you, sometimes, it's not fun to get old! BUT, do have some good things happening...Dan and Casey were married in Dublin, Ohio at the Columbus Zoo, last Sat. It was a perfect weekend with something going on all the time...The wedding it's self was fantastic, Casey looked like a fairy princess and Dan was so handsome...Kathy's oldest daughter, Jackie, did the officiating and threw a little humor into it when it came time for the vows...She said, Dan, repeat after me......And then she said, "Jackie is my favorite sister".....and then she went on...They were married on a terrace and beyond were animals walking around, mostly giraffes (their favorites)....Then they got to feed the animals and the zoo people even brought a bunch in for everyone to pet them.....But, what I thought was most amazing...Dan had asked everyone who was coming, what their favorite animal was and he actually designed and made (with his 3D printer) parts, that look like legos, for everyone's animal and instructions on how to build them.....He also designed the box and on the box, with you name, had what table you were to sit at...My animal was an elephant and I have yet to try to assemble it (might have to let Lena show me how, lol)....And on Sunday, after the last brunch, we did some sightseeing and went to the Field of Corn and then to see the statue of Chief LeatherLips....We had been there before but my sister was in awe as was Tim, Kathy's husband...If you're ever in Dublin, Ohio, check out these tourist spots.....Kathy and Tim then left early Tuesday morning for Boston and then Ireland and Scotland for a month......I just want to stay home and regroup! We have a craft show coming up in November and I need to get busy with my stuff.....
Judi, Have been thinking about you and wish I could help in easing your mind...My sister had both of hers done and her advice, do the therapy...Of course it's going to hurt but that hurt will go away...She's also had her hip replaced, both rotator cuffs done and 11 weeks ago a complete shoulder put in and there again, did the therapy and she is fine .....
I also did want to tell you, you talking about Ken wanting to get that Poutine, kind of gave me a start......When I saw that, I thought, that can't be the same stuff Jim talked about...In Ireland, Poitin, is a very, very strong "moon shine" type of drink....Guess it pronounced the same way, but very different in the taste, lol......
Chriss, I am so excited for you and that new little bundle of love......I can image that 1st time you get your hands on him, what joy! And whether you live next door or miles away, that "grandma feeling" stays with you and as Mary tells us and you already know, there's always Face Time, but you know, too many kisses does smudge up the screen......
MaryZ, I tried to follow your trip around Alaska, was a little down when you told me, your brother lady friend is a Keeper, lol...But, as long as he's happy....And now, you're getting ready to be off and running again...Being at the beach or near water has to be the best! And so glad to hear you're also feeling better....What did the fur babies do when you got home? When I walked in the door Sunday night, Baby Girl ran through the living room and cried until I picked her up..She hasn't left my side since...Sure knows how to make me feel guilty for leaving her......
I've tried to catch up with everyone but you gals are all much too busy....But, hopefully, things will settle down in this neighborhood and I'll be able to check in more often......
Earlier, I had told a neighbor I was staying in my sewing room all day and then 2 minutes later my sister called and asked me to go to a Farmer's market....Oh well, one of these days, I'm going to lock the door, not answer the phone and stay in my room......
For dinner, might be a burger on the grille or maybe just a big salad......
You all have a great rest of the day.........................
