Everyone have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning everyone!

Today is DGD Kaylyn's graduation. It's being held at CU in Boulder, indoors and more space.

Yesterday turned out great. I unloaded the Jeep, then went down the Mtn to get flowers and a few other things out of MH. I called Transwest at 3 to see if parts were in, and they were. I quickly offered to bring the MH down right then, so they could work on it today. They said they could get it fixed today, so I backed it out and hooked up the Jeep and took it to their campground. Plugged it in, cause the frig is full and gave them the keys.

I stopped in Longmont at Safeway and did the needed shopping. MaryZ you've probably been there. Then got up the Mtn in time to unload everything just before Amanda and Maddox arrived. We had Mexican for dinner. Kids had burritos, DH taco salad and I had tacos.

I think we're going out to lunch after the graduation.

Hope ya can play with fabric today.

Good morning!

Well, it's rinse and repeat weather! I love it! Bright, sunny and warm! Oh, a occasional thunderstorm may pop up in the afternoon, but
It's the wait 5 minutes and the weather will change.

I was able to pack up and move about half of the books in the three great room bookcases. Ran out of boxes. Mr Grumpy will look for more that are somewhere downstairs, so I can finish. After Stu gets home from work tomorrow, we'll move some of the furniture pieces that need moving. That should be easier, as I have a bunch of those furniture sliders thingys. They do work!

Daniel has the stuff he needs and will start the footing- he needs to dig two - using a sonotube for holding the cement for each footing. And 24 bags of concrete. Half are here already from the gathering area - firepit- leftover from a bit of miscalculation.

Me - today packing more stuff up. Mr Grumpy seems to be adjusting to the new med routine too.

Stay safe, do fun stuff! I need fun!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning everyone 🌞
We're going to be 82* today but have some winds, hopefully not too bad because tonight is the boys last game.
Chriss, wow you're really moving along on your rooms, high 5! I'm doing ok, just trying to keep busy so I don't feel useless but not over doing it at the same time, it's a balancing act.
Lois, I think there's some cleaning that needs to be done here too, hopefully my robots can get the floor good and I can Swiffer dust today.
Judi, I sure hope the Dr can help your knee and you can go to Sophia's game. I haven't done windows here yet, one day....
Becca, so happy your evening was fun with the kids! I hope your tooth doesn't give you any troubles.
Lyn, sounds like everything fell into the perfect slots last night, very cool.
Jana, thanks for the floor info, I'm gonna look it up. I hope your packing goes smoothly today.
I didn't get hardly anything done here yesterday, we went to Dad's early and ended up being there till 1:30 then came home and ate a late lunch. He needs so much done, Frankie tried to get his swamp cooler up and running but after going to both places in town neither had the pads for it so it has to wait. Frankie did move 1 rosebush and planted his 2 new ones for him. I tried telling him he needs to be downsizing but I'm pretty sure that went in one ear and out the other. His house is a mess, he's never asked the lady if she can come back to clean it after she had to cancel on him and it's beyond me being able to do it 🀷
I need to check my freezer to see what's for supper, it's Dad's night plus the game so I'll need to figure out how to be in 2 places at the same time. I'm thinking supper maybe earlier than usual.
You all have a great day!
Prayers for those in need πŸ™
Tina

Good morning,

LOIS - Loved your quilt. I love grunge fabrics. Any color. I love it all. And Michael Miller's Fairy Frost, too. Hope you get some relax time today in between cleaning chores.

BECCA - sorry about the cracked tooth. Did he say what the repair would entail? I guess it is only 2 weeks until June! I went to Catholic school all 12 years and we always got out the first week of June. I remember being excited, too!!

JANA - it's a lot bigger job to pack up for flooring than it seems on the surface! When we did our upstairs we divided into two different days We emptied the living/dining rooms out onto the covered deck. thankfully the weather cooperated. After we moved everything back in, we emptied out the three rooms - sewing/office/quilting. And everything there went out onto the deck, into the living room, or the bathroom. I had the bathtub filled with fabric nearly to the ceiling! It's like a jigsaw puzzle. I do not envy you. Years later when we did our downstairs, we used the same method - two different days. Most of my 1,800 books are downstairs. What a hassle!! I hope you have a big box of Calgon standing at the ready! How is Aaron & Kate's house coming along?

JUDI - good for you still getting so much done despite your knee. But I think using it probably helps it. I hope you're able to make Sophia's game. I think you've chosen a good pattern for your friend's quilt. I love matching fabrics/pattern to a specific person. Though I admit, it often ends up matching to MY tastes! lol!

LYN - I'm glad everything worked out with the MH! It's all falling into place. Happy graduation! My niece works at CU in Boulder. She's been a legal assistant there for 30+ years. I most certainly have been to that Safeway! Many times. My older sister lives 2 blocks to the south on Busch St. And she managed the campground at the Fairgrounds for 8 years. My younger sister lives 3 miles to the north on Gay St.

LORI - you got a tree delivered?? What kind of tree? Will you be planting it in your yard? Did you get your mandala quilt together yesterday? How is Bill today?

CHRISS - you are making good progress on your room shifting. Smart to make the largest room your sewing room. I agree - garage sales are a lot of work if done correctly. I used to know a single gal (45 years ago) who liked to go out and party. So on Friday she would throw some stuff out on her lawn and sell just enough so she could go out on Saturday. At least she kept her "inventory" down to a managable level and didn't accumulate a lot of stuff.

SHARONA - You are surrounded by Costcos! Isn't it great! Did you get that backing pieced yesterday? What day in July is Jim's birthday? Bill's will be 76 July 20. We also have family July 2, 10, 11, 16, 18, 26.
July is a big month for us but I think we can squeeze your Jim in.

TINA - congratulations to Easton on his ribbons! I bet he was excited! I know you were proud of him! Does your dad take anything like tumeric or glucosamine to help his knee? If he doesn't want knee replacement, those supplements may help. Our friend, Tex, is also bone on bone and refuses surgery. So he wears a brace which he insists is all he needs. Tex is one stubborn old coot! Sorry about your heat. I just heard two days ago that the weather gurus reported last summer to be the hottest in 2,000 years and this summer is to be even hotter. They have ways of measuring these things by studying the rings on trees. Does your back yard have enough shade to stay kind of cool so you can sit out by your pond in the evenings?

MARY Q - congrats to Evie! She is winning all kinds of things! Safe travels today as you drive to WI. Will you have to go through any big cities along the way? Big city driving can be unnerving. At least it is for me.

Yesterday, after chiropractor and Costco, I got binding on my fourth and last Scaredy Cat Christmas. They are for my older sister, my two DD's, and for me. My younger sister gets the log cabin Christmas with the little 12 Days of Christmas fussy cuts in the center. Bill will quilt that one of these days and also the airplane quilt. Today I think I'll get started sewing the first (and biggest) of the butterflies. I think there are about 13 butterflies in this quilt of varying sizes. I think I might have my hexie quilt done within a week. Woohoo!!! And in a departure from tradition, it's going to be machine quilted in a pattern yet to be determined. I will NOT be handquilting it. I'm not sure about supper tonite - Maybe grilled chicken. Or maybe spaghetti and meatballs. Or a compromise - chicken cacciatore. Or perhaps just a chef's salad. I'll give Bill some choices.

Happy Friday-Eve!

Good morning Girls

Just a quick hello before I shut down the computer! I'm showered and dressed and just need to finish packing up the car to head out to Wisconsin. If you need anything from my garage, just check in with Peggy across the parking lot... she has the code to get in my garage!

The drive to Wisconsin takes me around Minneapolis, down through Bloomington then straight south to Rochester, MN. At Rochester I take a left and get on I-90 to Lacrosse, WI. Then straight south of Lacrosse about 35 miles to beautiful downtown Ferryville. Ferryville consists of one gas station, one small bank, a post office (which is only open about an hour or two a day and closes if the post mistress needs to go get her hair done) and about 3 or 4 bars/saloons. I don't think there's even a red/green stop light! If you'd like.. Google Earth 119 Main Street, Ferryville, WI and you might be able to see Viv's house... Look for a big green roof! That's the garage and sewing room in one big building. The house is next door with a walkway between.

I'm going to take my Ipad along and if I can get online I'll check in as time permits.

Wishing you all a wonderful Thursday and a great weekend ahead!

Good morning. We will see the mid, likely high, 80's today. Next week should be mid 70's. I am thankful that the evenings cool off enough for me to give my A/C a rest, but also realize summer is coming.

Today is finish up the "office". Yesterday I went into town and ended up at my parents house where time was spent in good company.

I like my dad's way of doing things. He shows or tells me how to do things then lets me just do them. He lets me make my own decisions by giving me options. He's really an amazing man.

Lyn, my house is in such chaos right now with my moving rooms around I hadn't even thought of the fabric. No worries at all. I'm pretty anxious to get things in order here before I can really sew. So glad they can work on your MH so quickly and hoping it's a successful repair. I think PAPA Murphy's has a special almost daily. You can join their rewards program and they send emails with their specials. Tuesday is taco tuesday pizza, One day I will give it a try. Nice thing about PAPA Murphys is you can order online, tell them what time you want to pick it up, pre-pay and it will be there when you are ready when you go get it.

Lori, is the tree for you or for your dad? what kind of a tree?

Lois, I've never had eggplant. But I did buy some parm cheese so I could make chix parm. Someday I will try it with eggplant, is there a special way to prepare it?

Judi, hope you get to go to Sophia's game. Every time I try to look out my windows I think of you My living room windows are smudged with doggie nose prints. Dang dog.

Becca, funny isn't it. Kids are excited when school is over for the year and excited when it's ready to start. Glad you had a nice day with family.

Jana, sounds like a big job packing and moving things. but the flooring will be beautiful, and you won't' have to do it again. It's the last floor for that room you will ever need to buy.

Tina, hope your dad hears you eventually. Sometimes they smile and nod but aren't hearing. I've been trying to get my dad to hear me but he also smiles and nods. I'm saving my kitchen for last in my downsizing adventure. It will be my biggest job.

Maryz, I never made it to Costco yesterday. After dads I did stop by the Costco gas station where I paid $4.87 per gallon, the parking lot was full so I chose not to shop there. chicken Cacciatore and a salad sounds like a good dinner. We used to go to chicken Cacciatore and polenta dinners at the Italian lodge in Merced. They were so good.

Maryq, safe travels. Sounds like a nice drive and missing big cities is a bonus. What fun you will have. We will have to put Peggy on speed dial so we can have her let us in to raid your stash, although I wonder if you would notice anything missing.

Last night's dinner was a sliced tomato with cheese and onion, boring but a favorite of mine. I may bbq some hot dogs tonight and have some broccoli with them. I will thaw some chicken for tomorrows dinner.

And time to staart my day. The house is opened up but soon it will be too hot and I will have to close the windows. You'll find me dusting and organizing if you come looking.

Hope you all have an amazing day.

I'm back......
My cleaning is done, I even did our bathroom and I took breaks often. Frankie is out mowing and we even got a 5 second sprinkle and about 20 minutes later we got a 30 second sprinkle, we're 91% cloudcover, it's really nice. I have windows and doors open and I usually leave them open when no wind and if it's under about 79. I really like the freshness in.
Maryz, yes my backyard has lots of shady spots, we have a homemade gazebo which Frankie calls my ghetto-zebo, and I have another shady spot with 2 chairs where some solar panels are that run one of the pond pumps and then we have the bbq area that's about 10x18' of shade with 2 chairs and the BBQ grill and it has 6' high metal fence on the west and north side and then I have huge pine trees and a big pecan tree that all make shade.... there's only sun over the pond and a narrow yard, the rest has shade most of the day. My front yard has a patio that has shade only after 6pm from the porch to the west and there's a big mulberry tree and 2 mexican elder trees and a skinny pecan tree out front.... my front yard always has sun so I'm not out there much except early morning or after about 7 in the evening.
Dad takes glucosamine and something else for joints but I'm guessing they aren't helping him much. It would also help if he lost about 30 to 50 pounds but he eats like a teenager; chips and salsa, potted meat, canned tamales, little Debbie oatmeal cream pies and ice oatmeal cookies, fritos.....etc.... he's a junk food junkie. But he's 85 years old and he doesn't listen so I just leave him be. I think he's afraid to get malnourished like Mom did so he's on the other end of that spectrum.
Chriss, yep, Dad's don't listen very well πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ
You're going to have like a brand new to you house when you're done, it sounds great!
Maryq, she travels, enjoy!!
Later,
Tina
