Monday Oct 3rd

Post by grammiequilts » Mon Oct 03, 2022 4:32 am

Good morning it is cold here 40. I need to turn the heat on....we had it off during the weekend. it was in the 60s and beautiful. But I will switch it on when I go down stairs. I will do laundry today and some cleaning, I will also try to finish the 2 table runners I am working on they will need to be quilted..I need to figure out supper...Maybe chicken sliders ( a Ken favorite)
Yesterday was all the visiting and cleaning ( Two of Kens work areas are now very clean and organized and an entire trash can (Big) is going out to the road today....It even has his blessing...he can find the things he needs now. this all started when he said we needed to go up to Menards for a new broom and dust pan for the shop////Well I went down to find them as I know we had them all during the remodel. ( Ken doesnt look for things he just buys a new one , this has caused a lot of going back to the store to return ) all is well now we found everything we need plus.
Well I need coffee and Mr Maytag is waiting,,,hope your day is organized....and fun.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning. Moose decided to wake me up at 3:30, guess where he is now stinker dog. I read my bible, my devotions and email and now, lucky you, here I am.

Judi, I also need to tidy up the spare, now the junk, room. How long will Ken's work area's stay organized? Jerry was telling me yesterday that he couldn't find something, and I told him that as long as he doesn't put things away where he gets them he never will.

Lois, cool that you have new gift ideas for Sandi, it will be fun picking out designs.

Not much going on this week. I have a zoom meeting Thursday, the friends of the library sale is Friday and the Alzheimer's walk a thon is Saturday. I need to use my time wisely the beginning of this week.

Today my plan is to wash the bedding and sew for my elf. I also need to gather things to fill her box and might send a teaser if I can come up with something.

Hope you all have a fantastic day,
Chriss

Good morning to all.

Hopefully today I want to have time on my new machine. I went to the lqs and got some answers on her. Never got to play on her, we found a leak over slider in the kitchen. DS and DIL came over and after a small section of sheet rock was taken out we found the answer. So grateful it was a easy fix. When we have the track for the hurricane shudders put in a year ago--three of the bolts were not sealed in. The rain and wind hit us from the back for hours and managed to get behind the track. After that was removed and fixed with flex-seal I think we are safe. Waiting for an estimate on replacement of AC enclosure area that the storm took down. Should know in a few days.

Tomorrow will go to Dianes for kit cutting and home to pack for Weds. flight to LI and Pipers 16 birthday. I see lots of hugs headed her way.

Have a great day.
Diane

Good Morning Girls

Happy Monday to you all! I'm still not believing it's October, so it's a good thing Whoever starts the chat in the morning, puts OCTOBER in the subject line! Thank you. ;)

Took me a little bit to get to sleep last night. I'm sure you all have the same problem, ----ideas swirling around in your head and kind making a list in your head of things you want to accomplish the next day! I discovered a couple new fun things I can do with my embroidery machine for Christmas gifts. I feel so productive when I can get both machines running at the same time. Yesterday I was working on my SS gift and decided I just don't like it.. So today I'm starting over. New thoughts, new ideas... hopefully it will turn out better!

Judi... You're probably going to be able to save a ton of money, now that Ken's area is all cleaned out! No more running to HD for new tools! Did he find things he had forgotten he had? I dread having to turn the furnace on... it's been so nice with open windows and no AC--easy on the gas and electric bill.

Chriss... And you do know that as soon as Jerry goes to buy a new thing, he will find the first one. Works every time. Even for me! I lost my favorite 2.5" ruler and ordered a new one.. dang if that first one didn't show up. Murphy's Law right? I might head to the library today, I'll meet you there. I found out you can do genealogy research with Ancestry.com there! I'm going to have to check it out!

Lois..... O M gosh, Sandie got an embroidery machine!!! You guys will have so much fun!!! Did she get one with a bigger hoop--like a 5x7? We'll have to talk girlfriend, as I can hook her up with some great places to get designs!

Diane... Glad your leak was an easy fix. With all the wind I'm sure water can get in just about anyplace. When they build houses along the coast, do they automatically put in the storm shutters? I see a lot of pictures of folks boarding up the house. Should almost be code for new construction in hurricane areas. Kind of like almost all houses in MN have basements for tornadoes---almost but not all.

Maryz... In case you have internet along your way. Hope you guys are having a nice trip. Have the leaves started turning out there?

Coffee is cold now... and it's time for me to shower and get dressed. May run to the library today to return a book and pick up a new one. My BFF recommended "Where the Crawdad Sings" Have any of you read it?

wishing you all a marvelous Monday

Good morning!

Yesterday was very productive. I was able to watch the last session of General Conference in the Batt Cave and altered 5 pairs of pants and 2 dresses. Also caught up the checkbook. I am behaving and not spending money on fabric. I do get to spend it, on recycled base road fill, concrete, etc.

The apron of the driveway gave us fits to be removed. It was not having anything to do with cooperating! Even with a jack hammer! So Daniel found a guy with a bigger, better skid steer with a attachment that will get the job done. That new guy will be here this week. This contractor wanted to make sure that it was OK with the city to remove this apron and Daniel smiled and informed him that the city and code enforcement were. Then Daniel told the guy that the code enforcement officer was his little brother. Helps to have city mucky mucks as your children! LOL! Then I have my list of marching orders - order rock, reserve skid steer, drain pipe, bubblers, for roof water run off, for Daniel on Saturday to move the afford mentioned rock. Our nephew will be here for the concrete pour he's doing on Saturday the 18th. Then stage one is done.

Aaron's finger is healing. He's is calling the hand specialist today for a appointment.

Kari politely declined the job offer in Provo. Too far to commute and she wants to be closer to Karlie's school. Well, they really want her and arranged the job offer to let her work from home 4 days a week and only one in the office. The day in the office will be the day Daniel works from home. A pay increase too. So she's letting them know her decision today, I'm pretty sure she'll take this job.

So I have a few uglies to get done and then find from my stash, the fabric needed for another bench pillow, called, As Sweet as Pie, from Kimberbell. I have the baggies labeled and ready. I know I have all kinds of fruit fabric, so we are good! This bench pillow is for my November decorations.

Time to feed Mr. Samsung, and us too,

Hugs,
Jana
