Well, I thought I would be finished with the braid quilt. But, I was not happy with the size. So, I went to LQS and got more fabric for the border. I may get the border cut but I don't think it will get sewn on. As long as I have it done by Friday morning I will be OK. Got a chicken going in the crockpot for dinner. So, I am good for the day.

Good afternoon! I made DH sausage gravy and biscuits for brunch. I had a smoothie. Dishes are finished, and I think I’ll work on the mending for DD.
Judi—fun times with the little ones is always a priority over sewing! Sewing waits, but the little ones grow up way too quickly.
Jana—I’m all for a party!
Scrap—I enjoy the warmth of the animals after they have been sunning in the window. Have fun with 4 patches. I think my DGD will go home and work on her mom’s 4 patches.
Chriss—I’m so excited for you to be finally seeing THE END of the adoption process. I love chili rellenos and tacos—the two combines should be awesome! Count me in!
Sherry—times have changed in the rental business. It’s the pits. If you try to help them out, they take advantage. I’m watching Kansas play, and they are behind.
Suzette—You will have that quilt finished before you know it! Chicken sounds good! DH will have beef, and I will have some of the veggie soup I made yesterday afternoon. Your retreat will be fun!
MaryZ--safe travels! I knew your quilt would be a hit--so neat that it was a huge surprise. Did they celebrate your birthday just a little, too?
Now, on to my sewing room! I think I might put off getting groceries until tomorrow…

Good afternoon from semi sunny, but cold, Sw. Pa....I'm beginning to think we're not going to have spring this year....Mother Nature better get her act together.........
A HUGE Happy Birthday to our "Birthday gals"...May it be the "bestest" every...
We went to early Mass and today was the children's choir...They are unbelievable, so talented...One young fellow played "Amazing Grace" on the bag pipes...Then onto breakfast and a birthday celebration for the other Jim...I believe he turned 87 and he is amazing, you'd think he was in his 60s...Of course our waitress made a big todo and then all the other waitress' came over and sang...It's always a fun time....And we came straight home, no Aldi's today..I just wanted to get home and back into comfy clothes and get warm.....We read the paper and both promptly fell asleep.....Now Jim is watching more basketball (sometimes with his eyes closed).....
Chriss, I also was surprised about the birth certificate but it does make sense....It's been a long road but what a happy ending...And I agree, a huge party is the way to go...If there's food, I know I'll find your house.....
I've read through the posts but I'm not able to gab to everyone....
You all have a great day.............

Learned a new trick in boiling eggs - so you can easily peel them - fresh, old or whatever! Add a teaspoon of baking soda to the water that you are boiling them in - they will peel great. I did it last night while I was making potato salad - the eggs around here have never peeled nicely for me - last night they did!

Jana—thanks for the tip! I’ll be using it. I usually put them in ice water when they finish cooking, and it helps if you are peeling them right away.
Irish—I love listening to bagpipes! Happy birthday to “the other Jim”! I saw where Sunbonnet Sue is getting ready to travel and she enjoyed her trip to Florida. I’m surprised you were able to get her to leave the warm, sunny South!
Well, both Kansas teams lost. I must jinx them by watching… Wait ‘til next year. At least I accomplished my mending chores. While I was working on Tasha's skirts, Kamri came over and brought a big bottle of Mexican vanilla. They had all gone down to visit her (other) grandparents who are full-time RVers. She also brought over her Teddy bear to mend his severed head. I finished it, too. Time for a little break... maybe dinner if DH comes in. I'll get it started.
I’m a grandma again… My cow Timi had a little red calf today. She was my first bottle calf when she was orphaned. I will take her an apple tomorrow.
Have a delightful evening!
