Re: Friday November 15'2013
Good afternoon from a very sunny, slightly warmer, SW. Pa....Jim is in his glory, rake in hand and the outside cats at his feet.....
Not too much happening in this neck of the woods..I was so happy to be able to sleep in and not have to get dressed and rush out the door this morning..Of course I haven't accomplished a darn thing yet.....
Chriss, My sister just remodeled her kitchen and her back splash has tiles of deer...I have a feeling someone painted them special and they are gorgeous...Her DH is a taxidermist, so this fits in perfectly....
Getting Jim to leave this house would be a miracle...He was born here and that's where they'll carry him from, so he says....But, I just want a little place where we can spend the winter, no big deal...If I keep nagging, eventually he might give in or give up....
Judi, sorry to hear about your quilting group but I feel the same way about our Lioness club...We only have about 15 members and still we have bickering...If everyone could just be as nice as we are and get along, it would be fine, right? lol....I think you're idea of starting your own smaller sewing group would be great....
Cindy, I love your menu, would you mind setting another place at your table? I'd bring something but I think you have it all covered....
You're lucky to be working with all males...I loved when I was the only gal in the doctor's office, my favorite job....
Maryz, I also love to hear the Scottie stories and of course need to see more pictures....My friend who has the Shelties tells some good stories, also...She also has 2 cats and the dogs herd the cats into the bathroom every day...She said, when she gets home from work, both cats waiting at the BR door to be rescued....Would love to hear some of those "names"......
Just talked to Kevin's wife and she's been out doing her Thanksgiving shopping...She's still not sure how many of the Lacrosse team might be at the table but she usually makes enough to feed an army...So if my trip to Cindy's in Texas doesn't pan out, we'll rub elbows with the Lacrosse team.....
Well, gotta get something done...
You all have a great day, enjoy those flowers and sunshine......

Re: Friday November 15'2013
Good morning!
Chrissy's cold wet stuff stopped off here today - it is gray and gloomy outside with snow falling, the only good part is, that it is still melting as it hits the ground! Won't be long until it sticks here on the ground.
Today is a quiet day - just finishing up nagging projects - in the house and sewing. DH has been working to get the garage cleaned out so that his little truck will fit in for the winter. Mostly just wood that needs moving and one train table - but the truck fit with the table last year - so it won't take much more.
Well, Sarah had a guy hired to take her place, but he called to say he had a better offer - rats! She was hoping to have the new guy trained by Thanksgiving - but that ain't happening now! I think that she will do more work here at home - and let one of her girls run the day to day - Sarah will keep her hands on everything. That is one thing about jobs here in Utah, they can go begging for a very long time.
Chriss - your colors sound lovely! I am finding that less is more - I am enjoying all the space in this house - it takes a little getting used to! LOL
Judi - I have been hesitant to join the guild here in Utah for just your reasons. But, if you want to get a quilt in a show, you have to know the right people - the ol' boy network -
Vicky - I have named my new LA - Robin - that is because she is in the "Batt" cave - as DH has named the sewing studio. My other machines have yet to receive names - I guess that they might feel left out now! LOL
Maryz - DH has a number of names too! I have just one - D**n it Jana! Always when he needs something - it is said d**n it Jana wheres the wrench - the hammer, or anything else he can't find! LOL The strange thing is that my Grandmother had the same name from her DH, they both died long before DH met me.
Well time is up for me - we can head out and do some errands - we had to stick around the house for a call from Social Security - seems as if they can't make up their mind over how much we owe for the medical part of the insurance - we are from a non-social security retirement, so we have to pay that part on our own. None of the numbers jive and "they " don't know why - why am I not surprised!
Have a great day!
Hugs
Jana

Re: Friday November 15'2013
Good morning - Afternoon

Been busy doing this and that and finishing up piecing this quilt. Thought I was hoome free last night but when I got to the third mitered corner it did not match up. THought I was going to just have to frog and adjust the border but then saw the two that are not matching are on diagonal corners - Hmmm.
Dh gave me such a fright when he was trying to figure out why my Annabelle sounded like she had a scratchy throat. Seems the casing that holds the bobbin needs adjusting. Note to myself: Watch where you are sticking your fingers and the screwdriver before starting the machine. Caught his finger and blew a fuss with the screwdriver. Oh be still my heart!!!
Have been on the phone many times with Courtney over the last few days. She now has braces to not only help with the adjustment of her teeth (she has beautiful teeth) but also to realign her jaw and stop from grinding her almost non-existent back teeth. If she did not do this now she would have to have surgery done in the next 5 years. She sent me a picture and she still has a beautiful smile.
I am off to figure out these last two corners. Hope you all have a great weekend
HUGE HUGS and PRAYERS sent to you all
