Re: Sunday, November 10th, 2013
Good Morning Girls
Happy Sunday to you all! It's cloudy and dreary here today, but at least there's no snow! Today is baby shower day, so in a little bit I have to get up and get my gift put together--no way I was getting 2 baby quilts done in time, but will finish them soon and mail them over. When I get home there's laundry to finish, which is good thing as I can sew at the same time.
Dolores.. am headed to Joann this afternoon on my way home from shower.. I'll look for Hello Kitty fabric too! Hope you find what you are looking for on your trip today.
Vicky.. thank you for the reminder that this IS the DAY! Don't worry about the devotional today, if you speak from your heart, it will be perfect.
Izzy.. Oh My Gosh, so sorry to hear you are feeling "punk" Hope it passes quickly! You will be in thoughts and prayers today!
Judi.... has your family been responding to your FB posts? what a great feeling it must be to have all the windows done.. I wonder what that's like. I'll probably never know!
Maryz.. You whipped up that Tree Skirt already? Yikes! My tree skirt is one my Sis made years ago, all hand sewn beads and sequins! It's a little worn, but I still use it every year.
Teresa... Hope Rob gets an "all good" lab report tomorrow! Next weekend I think I'll finally get a chance to start the lotto blocks. Need to watch the video again.
Tina.. My Goodness...look at those sweet baby cheeks! Don't you just want to smother him in kisses! How cute little Jaz is with her brother!
Velda...Good to hear you are all settled in. Maryz's idea is a good one... especially taking the picture... Everything can look right to me, then I take a picture and put it on the computer and I can see when something needs to be moved!
Jules....Good to see you again! You will be in my prayers too.
Well girls I better get a move on... need to wrap baby gifts--2 of everything!
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Re: Sunday, November 10th, 2013
Good morning.. soccer was very all day long yesterday... we lost our first game.. we tied our second game 3 to 3 and then tied out third game zero to zero.... and a two hour delay or so between each game.. after the final game we went to have Pizza with the team.
tonight... yes, there is more, are two games and we need to be on the field at 5pm, if we win we play again if we lose we get to go home... but I think they are handing out trophies after the second game so we all need to hang around.. we only have 4 teams in this division and the kids are having a blast so it is what it is.
Maryz.. hope dinner was wonderful.. I always imagine your sewing room as a place where at any moment you can pull out a something and whip it up..all while this great meal and dessert is cooking away for a dinner party.. hope your Scottie friends loved Scottie.
Maryq.. I have an F&P binding ruler that lets you know where and when to cut the ends.. I so so love it.. one of the best things I own... hope yours if fun for you too. hope your kids do come for turkey day. I love the procrastinators club.. I need more of a "get moving at the last minute" club...
O'Dorothy, I really had a change of heart at the soccer play offs.. when Mar was goalie and her huge smile every time she caught or fell on that ball... then when the game was over and she'd say...did you see this or did you see that...she really had way too much fun... it's great when our kids get to be kids... sorry for Jim's friends passing..you sure have a busy week coming up..
Namarose, prayers for your sister.
Jana.. that Sarah, making the border too short, what are we going to do with her...lol.. hope you do well in your end of the music program...no pressure...
Karlene, that Victoria makes a beautiful baby.. what perfect features... a little cutie pie nose...bright happy eyes, and lucky her, a round face...so many blessings on one baby...congrats to you all...don't forget the smooch and gentle squeeze rule...
Izzy, those $5 stuffed things at Kohls are great for a quickie gift... sounds like you had fun at your parents.. hope your son enjoys married life and gets to call home often...
Teresa, a piano key border is really a pretty thing.. it will look great on your quilt...hope Rob's tests go well..
Suzette, I will look for the food network show, didn't realize it had been on that long... I also plan to stay home today and sew on my SS project...and like you I found all the fabric in my stash.. I so want to be able to use up what I have before buying new..so hard to do.
Velda, sounds like you are going to have a lot to ponder with those blocks.. hope that it turns out to be a wonderfully comforting quilt.
Lois.. since you got that boot off you have hardly been out of your sewing room.. fabric must be flying.. I agree with you, I love when we have new babies too.
Jules, I sure wish things were better for you.. I did see the free motion you posted on FB and it is really cute.....I am praying for you and sending happy thoughts...hugs
Judi, does that mean Ken has cleaned out his space... I am curious if he found things he forgot he had, unlike us quilters who know and remember everything in our stashes...lol.
Maryz.. I think you should get that new mat.. wish I had something I needed so I could go shopping with my coupons but I don't need anything...
Vicky, hope your devotional is inspired and the shower is wonderful...
Dolores, so few things are made here... but hello kitty will be a cute diaper bag...I am sure you will have no trouble finding the fabric.
Izzy, hope you're feeling better soon, maybe a trip to the doctor is in order?? will keep you in my prayers.
Tina.. Jaz makes looks like her role as big sister suits her just fine.. she sure is a great smiler....Easton is sure small next to those big hands... it would be neat to take that same picture each month to see how big he gets compared to those hands.
Maryq.. happy baby shower day, have cake for me.
I am off to record the show Suzette talked about then a little breakfast and off to sew.. hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day

Re: Sunday, November 10th, 2013
Good Sunday morning from one last day of sunny Kansas in the 60s. Tomorrow we have rain forecast, and Tuesday we have SNOW in the mix and temperatures only in the low 30s. Too much change too quickly… but that’s Kansas.
My DD and DGD came over yesterday, and we met at Mom’s and had a nice lunch with her for some more birthday celebration since DD was working Monday. The rest of the day was “normal” Saturday errands. DH was working at the other end of the farm, so I walked down the road with a bucket of carrots from the garden that had gotten woody and took them to DS3’s horses that reside in one of our pastures. Then I used the bucket and picked up more pecans—a couple of gallons.
Today I’m doing laundry and cleaning floors. I’ll go check and see if any more pecans fell, too.
Chriss—welcome to the world of “Soccer Mom”. Do you take some hexies with you?
Tina—your pictures are darling! Jazz is growing up so quickly and quite cutely!
Jules—so sorry to hear you are struggling. The right balance of meds is such an elusive thing. My cousin struggles as you do.
Sorry I’m not going to stick around this morning—need to grab all the sunshine I can and also get to the floors before DH returns from coffee.
Have a blessed day!

Good late afternoon all,
It was been a busy couple of days! Thank you all for sharing the joy of a new grandbaby with me! And Tina, what fun to have these little ones born one day apart from each other! Maryz made me laugh about Easton being double Harley's age! But that has been cut down today. They should be coming home from the hospital today. We are waiting to hear. I have to find that line of being there without being in the way!
Rich's mom and I sat in the waiting room together for 10 hrs on Friday and it was nice to share time with her. This is her first grandbaby too. We were at the same hospital that Rich and his brother were born at, and the last times she was there was when her husband died when Rich was 5 and when her dad died when Rich was 14. I'm glad there is a new memory for her there now of a life coming into this world.
While we waited, I wrote out my note to my former friends and mailed it. It was kind of a peaceful experience to firmly close that door as I thought about my daughter bringing her daughter into the world and starting a new chapter in her life as a mom.
Well, I better get something done, like getting a meal ready to take up to the new family. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Thank you all for the advice of taking a picture. I will do that!!!
I took one picture yesterday when I first laid them all out. I have enough for 5 squares across and 5 squares down with one left over.
Then I found an extra block that I made when the Lotto was on back in July. If I make three more blocks, I will have 6 x 5. Thinking I might even do that.????
See, I told you that I would have fun making up my mind. Thanks for the good advice. Very helpful

Hello been in bed all day. Still sick to tummy. YUK crackers and water all day; now getting head ache probably from watching tv: twilight series. DH bought it to cheer me up LOL got through first two and he and DFD went back to church and he told me not to go to third without him. HUMMM for me or for him LOL only chick flick he likes:O hahahah
So just chilin bp is back to normal 110/72 pulse 75. I usually run around 98/60's so a hi in my book but DH and doc say ok for my size and age. LOL
just about finished uploading wedding pics crazy 900 just to print around 75 of them LOL oh well fun to look at again.
My poor parents felt so bad that day only one photo of them and its terrible.
Well gonna grab some advil for headache and some more water and lay back down. did get baby quilt that was sent to me hand quilted:) I plan to give it to a couple in church who just adopted baby from china with a cleft palate. Maylynn is her name and she just had surgery for correction of palate. Has to have 3 more I think they said. The red and yellow made me think of her with those being chinas colors. I forgot who sent it to me and have misplaced paper I wrote it down on when I cleaned sewing room. I so hope I didnt throw it away. But you know who you are and now you know who is receiving it:)) I will take photo when I present to her and post:)
well God bless and thanks for prayers
gotta work tomorrow so need to feel better.
