Re: Monday, November 4th
ok I have two lap quilts pinned for tonight to tie. I may be doing most of these myself. The ladies are not so motivated this year in showing up to our monthly meetings. Last month only 7. I try not to take it personal my DH is asst pastor and he keeps saying everyone has to walk their own walk and be accountable. Not everyone works like a crazy woman like me LOL. Sooo I am busy getting these done. We are suppose to pack 70 Christmas shoe boxes and 50 stockings tonight for christmas. HUmmm that should be fun if only 7 of us. I dont plan to take the lap quilts in tonight due to having to get all this done several already looked at me like I was crazy when I said we could also tie 5 tops:)) I really dont see why we couldnt LOL But thats just me.
Well got 4 loafs of multi grain bread rising. Pot of beans on and cooking greens and cabbage for supper tonight. YUMMMY:) Have to be at church by 630 for meeting.
You all are busy busy I can see:)
Back to the sewing room to pin a few more tops:)) Izzy

Re: Monday, November 4th
Good morning from cold and overcast Utah!
A little bit of yesterday's snowfall is still on the ground - mostly the north side of things and we will get a little more today - it is only about 32 outside right now and it is almost noon here.
I am down here to work on Christmas projects and presents. Ethan is down for his nap - so I have my 2 or more hours to myself!
Had to run over to the Assisted Living home last night - FIL has a tooth infection and needed Tylenol - his had ran out - and DH is upstairs trying to sort out the dental insurance and find a dentist that takes it - what a mess. Also the credit card statements got here for the missing card - we do know where it is - just not in our hands - Oh the mess that it is in - charges for things that FIL never would or could use - DH is sharpening his sword and when the time comes it will be ready! He is a very patient person and will have everything in order before he says or does anything. Sarah is helping him sort it all out too. Boy what family can do when it comes to money!
Sounds like lots of fun at Houston this week-end - that trip is on the bucket list of things - even mentioned to DH that I would like to see Santa Fe - all of the artists and shops there. DH thought that would be a nice trip too - we will see if that ever comes about.
Well, I need to get sewing -
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs
Jana

Re: Monday, November 4th
Good afternoon everyone. Has been a busy morning. Pepper had to go to the vet this morning for her blood work. it is not coming down so I have to go back to giving her an IV every day instead of every other day. Since she is feeling better I am having trouble getting her to eat her prescription food. She is just too smart for her own good. Ran errands and now I have uglies to do. Don't know if I will get to sew today or not. Haven't gotten much sewing done lately. Sometimes it goes in sperts for me.
Jana - So sorry to hear about your family's FIL credit card mess. Hope you are able to get it straightened out soon.
Izzy - You are so busy. I get dizzy just reading about all of your busy schedule. Keep up the good work.
Suzette - You will be in my prayers with your surgery coming up.
Cindyg - Glad you had a good time at the Houston show. You got me excited so I am going to start counting down to next year when I am coming again. I am coming for more days, because you are right. There is just too much to do in a couple of days. I found that out in 2011.
FarmChick - Glad your bone medicine seems to be better for you. Happy Birthday to your mom. 95 and still going. Great!
Judi - I need to do my windows here. Every time I think I will get to them something seems to come up. We have a landline in the house, but I have a Tracfone. I hardly ever use it. It is a basic phone that I have had for years. I just don't use it much. I have almost 700 minutes right now. Since my children don't live near me I just don't use it. I use Skype on my computer more.
Velda - Glad you and DH got to leave on time. How long have you been a "snowbird"? I know lots of people do it, but I can't imagine packing up and leaving my house for the winter. I guess it is because I have so much "junk" to take with me. Glad you got to go to Houston Quilt Show. I was there in 2011, and had a great time with Cindyg and friends. I spent a lot of money for goodies and took a class. Next year I am going back. I am lucky because my son lives in Houston. I would hope everyone would get to go once. You are right is it overwhelming.
Delores - Prayers going out for your DIL's family loss.
Well, better go get uglies going. Prayers for all today.

Re: Monday, November 4th
Good evening from cold, almost dark, SW. Pa...It's been cold all day and we had a bad frost over night and today the leaves are coming down like snow.....
I'm really late today and not sure if it was just the day got away from me or what.....Jim did leave for awhile to visit with a friend and I spent most of the afternoon with the sewing machine.I do have a meeting tonight and need to hop in the shower but wanted to check in 1st....We just finished eating and I needed a minute with my cup of tea and see what everyone was up too.....
I'm making table toppers for our card party next Monday night...I've decided to make/give 4 in one prize at the Chinese auction table..So, I've made, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and today was the 4th of July....They've gone together pretty easy and was thinking about St. Patty's day but I think this is it.....I've crocheted up a storm, made about 35 dish cloths along with the dish towels that hang on a drawer or stove handle....I'll be glad when this party is over....
Chickie, please give your Mom a huge hug from me...She really is an inspiration....She certainly passed along her quilting genes to you....95 is amazing.....
So many to gab to and not enough time...So much sadness and heartaches as well....I had a call from a gal friend who lives about an hour from me and we try to get together a couple of times a year...Well, she hadn't been feeling well and finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma....She's always been so healthy and to have this happen...But, she says, she feels fine and they are treating it with low doses of chemo...Boy, you just never know!
I better get moving but will certainly keep everyone in my prayers.....
You all have a great evening......

Re: Monday, November 4th
Just a quick pop in. Been so busy today with cleaning closets, pantry, 5 loads of wash, floors, errands, and puppy minding. I tell ya, puppies are a full time job! Especially as they get big enough to get into more mischief!
IRISH - what a great prize to win = all those holiday tablerunners. But here's what I often do - I put one holiday on one side and another on the back, usually just a print for the second holiday or season. Snowflakes are good for Jan and flowers are good for spring.
CHRISS - are you talking about the hexie bon bon pincushions in McCall's latest issue? P. 59. There are directions for two different sizes. I thought they looked fun but haven't made them yet.
CHICKIE - please tell your beautiful mom happy birthday from Bill & me! And please pass the sweet potatoes!!
Well, time to feed the furkids. We are still adjusting to the time change. They have a harder time with it than we do! They KNOW when they are supposed to be fed and it has nothing to do with a clock!
Until tomorrow -

ha ha.. Maryz.. how do you cure sweet potatoes? add vinegar...lol... get it? vinegar is the opposite of sweet... I am so funny I crack myself up...
ShirleyMae.. the thing is, if I burn the chili verde I don't have to cook again...I'm going to pretend I didn't see your advice to put the un-burnt portion into another pan... did Jerry put you up to that...lol
Scrappy Pat.. I got a 2014 Subaru Forrester... I love it...the color is called Jasmine Green... I named her Joy...I really like Joy...the payments aren't bad... I am saving lots in gas.
Sharona, I am still banned...lol...glad you get your out building... the weather delay will give you a chance to plan how you want it... make sure there are lots of plugs.
Cindyg.. Jerry may take you up on that trade if he can go to the space center... he loves that kind of stuff...
Karlene.. sounds like you had a great weekend.. I love jammie day...prayers for both your girls...
O'Dorothy, your table toppers will be a great gift...
Velda, you look a little like a good friend I had in middle school.. I have no idea where she went... glad you had fun at the quilt show...
Maryz.. it probably was that hexi pin cushion I was thinking of.. I will check to see... I did see a neat pin cushion once... it had a strap that fit around the side of your sewing machine... a great place to stick pins as you pull them out of what you are sewing... the pin cushion was about 4 or less inches square.. a cool idea.
have you all heard of the books by Bill O'reilly one is killing Kennedy and one is killing Lincoln... he has a new one out... Killing Jesus.. has anyone read it? it is supposed to be historical.. I just saw it tonight at Target but didn't buy it...
well, you all have a great day.
