Re: Thursday, October 17
Good morning!
I was down here before the sun came up - well now after catching up the finances, the sun came up! Shining right into my face!
Suzette - glad that the eyes checked out and you finally got started on your new journey - I see that you getting to find someone who dealt with your doctor is a tender mercy - answer to a prayer.
Lois - Blue? It is a good thing to have a new roof!.
Shirley Mae - that is how our house went - everyone showed up the first week - just looky-loos and then it slowed down - our home sold in about 5 weeks - short time, but stressful anyway!.
MaryR - your DWR is just beautiful! Love all the mixed colors in it. I have start two DWR - one went in the trash - the other is somewhat cut out - waiting on me!
Vicky - hugs and cuddles are just the best! What fun tomorrow will be!
Kathy - I was talking to my DS2 about your smoke alarm - he informed me that is the way the new ones work! Give me the old noisy one!LOL He is not sure if his new house will have the talking one. I still make your cranberry muffins - love then so much that I bought several bags of cranberries the other day and put them in the freezer for future use. More will come!
Chriss - I might just start to work to get some of my own time around here! LOL When Sarah quits in a couple of weeks - my life will get busy! LOL I found my cellphone this morning - it was hiding in my purse! Couldn't call it as it was already dead! Just happy that I did find it.
Velda - we are in the midst of winterizing around here too - good summer of fishing!
Judi - good luck at the check-up, from the sound of things you have healed up beautifully! Your Tigers are putting up as good fight this year too.
Maryz - a quiet day! Hope that there are three of them! LOL Scottie is getting too big!
Tina - sorry about the puppy - that is so sad when it happens. I am still working with Sarah to get the hooter hider instructions to you - they are really simple - maybe by this afternoon - I hope!
Cindyg - BOING! What more can be said - except the old TV commercials for Mervyns - person standing at the door - pointing hands at door - saying "OPEN OPEN OPEN"!!! LOL
Lucie - that is what I did too - took tons of my scraps and donated them - that made way for me to get more!
Chrissy - prayers for your family!
Karlene - glad that you got one of them - hope that the family learned their lesson and moved on to other pastures! My DH disappears in the neighborhood all the time too - once I called the neighbors to see where he was - he had a business call that needed attention. Men! LOL
Sharona - that is how it is with moving! I just unpacked 16 boxes of books and put them in the bookcases in the great room. They have been packed for almost two years. During the unpacking, DH kept asking me where this was and that was - darn if I could remember!
Well my day should be quiet - it is UEA this week-end - a educators conference - so every child is out of school for the teachers to attend. But everyone just treats it as a school vacation - even the teachers - no one attends the conference. From what DS2 tells me - most head off to Disneyland for the week-end! LOL
I am working on my wreath tops and boy did I make a huge boo-boo on a couple of the blocks - added one more piece of white than I should have - big problem - it was at the beginning of the rounds in the log cabin - so I am ripping out and then redoing it! Got one of the two of them done already.
Time to scoot - and get going on my day!
Hugs
Jana

Re: Thursday, October 17
I picked up my pattern yesterday for the quilt class on Friday. I have to think of a yummy dish-to-pass to bring for lunch. It is going to look quite comical as I unload and haul all my sewing stuff into the building - I am not as equipped as some of these ladies with rolling totes for the sewing supplies. Here is the pattern

CALGON TAKE ME AWAY:00
Sorry needed to yell:) DFD started morning off with drama fit. Oh my what a morning. Paperwork all morning at work. 1st nine weeks is done so notes go home on all students. Yup thats 50 at this school I had to get done. DH and I are singing tonight at NH revival and taking girls; if DFD isnt still in a drama fit. I may be singing alone tonight.
I got my mini basket block done last night. I dont do applique so had no idea how to do the handles LOL so I cheated and used ricrak:)) looks cute:) I also mopped floors and dusted upstairs before leaving for church last night. WOW I had spurt of energy. Wish I had some left for today. UGH rainy and yukky here.
Well I better go get my next group of kids. Just did drive by and will read all posts later. I needed to vent a bit:)
God Bless and happy thoughts
Izzy

Re: Thursday, October 17
Good afternoon ...
It is cool and gloomy here and it fits my mood perfect.
Even though I don't post I read them everyday. I pray for those that are in need especially that Pat's surgery goes well and that Suzette's meds work.
This has been one of those weeks you don't want to repeat any time soon. My dear quilting buddy had a heart attack sunday, Cooper's ear infection turned into going to the doctors 3 days in a row. His ear drum busted and on tuesady the lady that owned and ran the Janome store died. She had been battling ovarian cancer for maybe 2 years but it spread to her lungs and she didn't last long at all. She was such a warm, sweet person. I will miss her.
Izzy....I go to parent conference tomorrow for Cooper. He goes to speech with a group. There are 4 of them. I wish he got individual but I'm sure budgets have something to do with it. Hope your DFD is over her drama. What does your daughter think when she acts out?
Chriss...if you find some extra time please let me know. As far as child protective services goes I can relate. I am so glad I don't have to worry about my monthly visit from them. They usually called when they were on the way. I understand they are over worked and underpaid. I do hope you hid the rug to the dungeon.
Maryz....If I ever want to go on vacation I will come visit you. Seems like you have a lot of it and enjoy it too.
Kathy...you seem very content in your new house. Have you been there a year yet?
Vicky...I guess those babies will have to wait another day for their kisses and hugs. They are so cute and sweet.
Well I am babysitting Vivian this afternoon. She will be 1 on Nov 2nd! Where did the year go? She is such a sweet baby. I wish I had more time to spend with her. I feel guilty because I don't babysit her much with having Cooper and Lucy...but it is what it is.
Hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon.
Sharon

Lois, home of the brave is making a quilt in honor of Jeremiah. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the information. It will take. Few months. They will mail it directly to her. I think the timing will be perfect because those long winter months will be settling in about then in Wisconsin and I hope it will comfort her. I asked. If I could help out with fabrics but haven't heard back yet. I sincerely thank you.
Grammiequilts, what on earth is Ken doing on the roof??????
Kathy glad to hear the memos are being done
Shirley 'Mae, thank you.
New plan for Mymy. Going to start iv with potassium and some kind of sugar stuff to get him strong enough to tolerate the medicine and beat this infection. Then the scans then the scopes. They were still going to dry and do the ct today, maybe.
Later my friends
