Well, the Echocardiogram was a snap!!! Now if Stress test will be that easily little worried about it. Sent me home with a Holter Monitor on for the next 24 hrs. Can't wait till Darling Hubby gets back so I can take a nap, didn't sleep good last night had the craziest dreams last night sometimes wonder where they come from.

Will keep Rod in my prayers. Prayers for all the military & their families, an those in need.

Hope to get some sewing in. If I ever figure out Photo Bucket will try to post picture of what I am making as "therapy" quilt.

Have great afternoon!

Good afternoon -

It seems that I am getting here later and later everyday. Things just get in the way! :(

We were working out in the yard this morning and the garage - getting things cleaned up and put away - we had a free dumpster in the court - for less than 24 hours! The city provides them to the residents - but we were a little too slow - so it is gone and I will have to make a small dump run later. We are trying to get the garage in order - either to put DH's truck inside this winter or FIL's Antique Mercedes - I think that the Benz will win out - it might live at Sarah's or Matt's too -we will see.

Maryz - that gorgeous fabric for that quilt is sitting in a box right next to where I am working - we will see if I am brave enough to get it started.

I have lots of tops that are in need of quilting, after them, I have thought that I will do up some quilts for Primary Children's Hospital here in SLC. They treat children from all over the world for so many things. And with having the ability to make quilts, I have thought that this would be a good use of my time. I have a niece that was treated at Children's Hospital in Oakland California, many years ago - for a heart condition - the doctors used a never before tried way to diagnose the problem - she was the first and it worked very well - she is now the mom to three wonderful children. My niece had open heart surgery at the tender age of 3 months old - way back in 1962, when heart surgery was in the pioneering stages. So Children's Hospitals are near and dear to me.

Well I had better get going - need to make up some frosting for decorating cookies this afternoon. I made up a new one earlier - oh it is yummy and oh so very easy! Here it is:

1 pkg - 3 oz. any flavor Jello you want - both for flavor and color
1 egg white
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup boiling water
vanilla, if you desire

Mix egg white, jello, sugar in mixing bowl - start to whip - bring the water to a boil and while the mixer is running - pour in the boiling water and then continue whipping for 5 minutes. It will make a yummy frosting for cookies or cupcakes. Makes about 2 cups whipped. I will thin it with a little water stirred in so that it will flow to frost the cookies - so they look like the fancy ones in the magazines. I used the highest speed on my KitchenAid Mixer to whip it all together.

Hugs and lots of prayers for y'all!
Jana

UPDATE ON ROD.....NO SURGERY TODAY.......

Thank you for your prayers for Rod and I. Unfortunately, they didn't do surgery today so now we wait some more. The biopsy shows they are squamous cells. They tend to be on the surface and grow more quickly but aren't as deadly as others if caught early. The problem they do cause is for transplant pts. The meds Rod has to take so he doesn't reject his liver, causes the cancer cells to grow and eventually spread to other parts of the body. He is still in very early stages of it tho.

We drove all the way down to the VA and all they did was take the stitches out of the biopsy site and tell him they were referring him to an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist for consult and surgery. They do NOT do extensive surgery in the dermatology dept. At the VA, waiting could be 6 months. WE won't be here that long, I hope.

Pat, glad part of your heart stuff is over with. I have had to wear those Holter monitors before. Get in the way a lot but not that bad. What kind of a stress test are y0u looking at? Are they doing the treadmill or the chemical one? Prayers will continue for you until you are thru all the tests. Sometimes the worrying is worse than the problems. Hope you can get some rest. Nightmares do happen when we are worried. I do that too. May God bring you comfort and peace and rest today and always. God bless you dear. Keep us posted.

Chrissy1, So sorry to hear about the loss of the marines, especially Jeremiah. Please tell Shannon and her family how sorry I am. May God be with them all today and always and bring them some comfort and peace in the midst of all this turmoil and sadness. May they be sent many many angels to surround them with love, hope, and support in their hour of need.

I heard this afternoon that House of Reps is trying to get a bill passed to restore the benefits for the military. How sad that those who fight and die for us are given such little respect in todays world. Being an Air Force mom and MIL too is really trying some days. Our son is preparing to go back overseas again the first of the yr. Hope we can get back to MO before he has to leave. I had hoped he could retire before then. May God bless all our military and families. Their sacrifices go far beyond the call of duty.

Someone ask about when we could leave here. The landlord thought our lease had run out. When we reminded them that it hadn't, then they decided we could leave with no penalty as soon as it is SOLD or the lease runs out.

Took the screens off this am and washed all the windows on the outside. Don't think they had been cleaned for a very long long time. WE had washed the back AZ room windows (4 huge ones) earlier this week when we removed the cloth sun shades we had on them. (No outside screens on those.) Getting tired of cleaning. Anybody need a winter home in AZ? LOL Only $110,000, Great golf course views. Would I get into trouble if I posted the website for pics of our house?

Too many to reply to but think about and pray for all of you daily.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. Prayers for all of you hurting in some way today. May God provide for all your needs. Love and hugs across the miles, Shirley Mae

After checking in with several groups it seems that quilts are done for veterans, wounded, etc, and I totally understand that. I am glad that there are people doing them. I am going with my gut and going to finish the fleece love knots blanket. Thank you everyone for your suggestion and prayers.
