LORI - 101 hours! Baby Dog comes Friday morning. That's Friday The Thirteenth. Hoping that's not an omen of things to come with all those sharp little teeth around! What kind of quilting class are you taking?

SCRAPS - congratulations!! I hope you made scads and scads of dollars!!

SUZ - will be holding good thoughts for you!

First - Maryz, I thought of another name: Checkers!

Suzette - you have a full day planned. Doesn't it just stink that we have to go to work?
Delores - I know Lois will go stir crazy. I know I would. I hope she like to read. Also, I get on the iPad and play Mah-jongg. It will make the recupe time fly by. I just hope she is not in pain. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Vicky - ohhhh I can't wait to see Kim's quilt. Just prior to having my two babies I would get a spurt of energy. I couldn't find enough to clean! Boy, those days are gone forever - LOL LOL. I also hope they keep Mike at the hospital for a few days. Poor kid!

Judi - you girls and your hexies! You're just trying to get someone else hooked - LOL LOL. I'm so glad Ken is better. I had to go back and read the weekend posts to see what was going on. When is your hystie, this Thursday?

Velda - our 5th wheel is at the dealership, too, to warranty work. The dining table and sofa are on the same wall and the whole thing slides out and the electrical plugs on that wall don't work. The lights work, but not the plugs. Also, when we use the water pump it vibrates so badly that the silverware in the sink jingles and it looks like the faucet will shake right off the counter - LOL. The pump probably isn't tightened down good but I told DH to leave it alone - it is warranty work. Y'all really need to get to TX early so you can come to the quilt festival. You don't know what you are missing....seriously.

Chriss - we can have a life or we can spend all our time on the computer. I try to have a life and spend little time on the computer. It's so dang addicting!

Maryz - I'm shocked at that $6,000 built in cost for warranty work. The dealership isn't out any money for those repairs as they back charge the manufacturer. Ohhhhh can you see the steam coming out of my ears from where you are? How's the puppy-proofing coming along. Have y'all crawled on the floor yet. Makes sense. I hope your leg is in a better mood today - LOL.

Lori - good for you taking off after your 2 days of training. And a quilt class, too. Your life is good.

Scrap - you just reminded me that I have a couple of totes to make for Christmas.

Well, I got a little quilting done over the weekend, a little laundry, and my car all taken care of. Maryz - the Zactec is a coating - kind of like a super-duper wax job. I will gladly take my car in for that twice a year rather than wax it myself. I got my next Featherweight. It's a perfect one to refurbish/repaint as she's in a pretty "used" condition. She runs though - just looks like heck. I'm at work blah blah blah so I'd better get busy.

Prayers go up for all how need them for healing and hurting and praise for all the blessings we all have.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Morning Girls

The day I have been waiting for is FINALLY HERE! A DAY OFF! There are uglies galore around here today, but I am going to ignore them all, except for the laundry and SEW! Am determined to finish McKenzie's quilt today so I can start sewing the binding down evenings while watching TV.. I need to have it complete by next Wednesday---that's when I get to see my brother-her dad- and give it to him for her. Once that is complete I can go back to my Calendar blocks and then whip up some baby tote bags and flannel burp bibs for all the pregnant gals at work.

Stopped at Joann on Saturday night for more thread for Mck's quilt and ended up spending $80!!! At the checkout out stand, there's a "Fashion" magazine for $4. but on the back of it is 6 coupons and I could use them all! For us old broads, this Wednesday is Sr. Citizen day. 20% off everything!!! Am debating about running in a buying a whole roll of batting-on sale for $99.99, then 20% off that.. makes it a pretty good deal.. Warm and Natural batting!! My favorite!

Maryz.... You could name your new puppy "Freddy" after Freddy Krueger from the Friday the 13th movies! UGH.. never watch scary movies!
Is your house "puppy proof" yet?

Vicky... prayers for Tia and Mike today as I wander around the house! Can't wait to hear the good news of the baby! Hope all goes well for her! A nice smooth/short labor and delivery!

Dolores... I was thinking of Lois yesterday and wondered which ankle she broke... if it was left or right... hoping that it was her left so she can still run her sewing machine! Though I'm sure she won't get doing much sewing for a little while... She is in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Does she knit or crochet?

Velda... the leaves are starting to turn here, and I was thinking that it seems early for that.. but then I remembered it's September already so I guess it's time! I'm ready for cooler temps, but not winter! Wish I could join you in Texas for the winter!

Cindyg... Check out the tote bag tutorial at Missouri Quilt CO... SO EASY... made with charm packs/5" squares.. I've made a few and they are so handy to have around for a quick gift!

Suzette... Will be thinking of you tomorrow for your MRI! They are not fun, but just go to your "happy place" and it will be over in no time! If you have an I-Pod with some music on it, bring it.. that helps too!

Judi.... glad Ken is up and around. Is your surgery still on for Wednesday? Prayers for a quick recovery from that. I felt so good after mine, but needed lots of naps for a while!

Guess I better get butt in gear here, tidy up a bit then head down to the sewing room! My 3rd cup of coffee is kicking in so I am feeling the rush!!!

Wishing you all a most wonderful day... with lots of prayers going out with every stitch!

Mary

Maryq, I was thinking the same thing, except, I think the name is Jason. Freddy was from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies. Both of those movies scared the crap out of me! LOL

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I didn't get much accomplished except for ironing a ton of fabric and cutting it into 2 1/2" strips. I am starting my GFG quilt out of 30s repro fabric. I will be using the "by Kate" methond that Lucie was talking about. No basting, you just stamp the fabric, cut out, and sew on the dotted lines. I am excited to try this method. My hand-sewing is really crappy, though, so I am hoping it will improve with practice!

Well, guess I better get back to work. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Prayers continue for those in need.

Hugs,
Mel

Good morning!

The desk is a bit crowded here this morning between the keyboard, monitor, cat and Ethan - I have a little space! LOL

Missed yesterday - got busy with Church and family and the 49nr's game - oh well didn't get down here to the sewing room.

This was my usual day with the other grands, but they changed Logan's speech therapy - it is now on Thursdays and my DDIL may just take the little ones with her for that time.

Our neighbor has started in the backyard and DH is out in front installing my new coach lights on the front of the garage. Life is good!

My little Emma took a tumble out of the carseat/carrier the other day - she is fine - tumbled off a picnic table to the ground while the family was camping - took her to the ER and all the Dr. could say, was how cute she is - then he got around to telling them she is fine.

On Saturday I got the missing piece of fabric for my newest project and saw a old friend I took a class on color from in California - she has a great book out on machine applique and was at the shop I teach at, doing a lecture.

So not much going on here - just waiting to hear on the fire at my old house - Mt Diablo was just up the road from where we lived before here and it has a growing wildfire. DS3 is waiting to see if he gets a call out for a strike team to aid in fighting it - we shall see. He told me not to worry as he knows that terrain very well - he went backpacking in that area many many times in his youth. Yeah right, not worry - big LOL!!

Prayers to all - quick recoveries! By the way - there is a new moritorium on this site - no one else is allowed to get injured or need surgery! Snicker snicker!

Maryz - Friday the thirteenth is not a bad day - It is my lucky day - I was born on a Friday the thirteenth! Not long before he comes home.

Need to scoot -
Hugs
Jana and Ethan - he has been helping me type - I tried to correct all his mistakes.

We tried to get the RV in during our "out-of-town" days. They were full up until 26th. So plan B will be to just take one day and just wait for it. Not much to adjust and fix, so that would work. I was all worried about all the new programs that I wanted to tape.
Now it won't be a problem at all.

Things always seem to work out somehow.

we don't leave for Texas until November 1, or maybe October 31

Cindy, yes it is.

Maryz, it'e Wild and crazy by Cathy Hoover. She is out speaker for guild on Tuesday night and then teaching a class on Wednesday. I'm sure that class will be far more interesting than the on I'm in now. http://www.cathiehooverstudios.com/'>ht ... udios.com/
