My day changed fast. I just got home and I got a call from Tia's mother in law, she had green beans for me. All picked and ready to go, she also had a bunch of tomatoes, bless her as my were all killed by the blight. So I drove down and picked them up, stopped and just said hi to Tia and picked up milk to make yogurt and stopped at another friends house and she gave me MORE tomatoes and some yellow and zucchini. We had some homemade dandelion tea, it was yummy!
So ever since I'm been home I've been on my feet, got the yogurt in first, snapped beans (Emily helped) we pressure canned 14 quarts and froze two. I guess tomorrow will be tomatoes! Then maybe I'll have enough to do Caleb's soup. (tomato/vegetable)
So needless to say I did not get to that block or sewing that top together. All in good time, I have to put up when the produce is available. Busy, busy.

Re: Friday September 6th
A quick note… I did another batch of applesauce and made a couple of apple crisps—big one for DH and me, and an 8” one to take to Mom tomorrow.
Karlene—try baking soda to wash your hands or mouthwash or some toothpaste. Lemon juice and salt works for fish smell, so it might work for your burger hands. Box springs are such a mess to move!
Vicky—that’s a bunch of green beans! Good luck tomorrow with the tomatoes!
Timi got two bunches of apple peelings, cores, and less-than-good apples today. She hears the ATV and comes trotting! Pavlov had his dogs; I have my cow!!! She is so greedy; now that she comes to meet me, she gets more treats and less that she has to share.
I think I’ve been doing too many apples… last night I dreamed about them. I dreamed that Odie was barking like crazy, and a calf was out. I ignored it, then I was taking a break and sitting in a lawn chair with my eyes closed. Next thing I knew, my face was being licked and nuzzled. It was Timi; she had gotten out of the pasture and came to the house for more apples. Sometimes my mind runs all night and I wake up exhausted. Have no idea what was going on last night, although DH let the dogs out to run and they were barking. Odie may have come up and jumped on the bed and nuzzled my cheek when he came back in…
I’ll be running amok tomorrow… Have a great weekend!!!
