Re: Wednesday September 4,2013
Good morning!
Naptime for Ethan - Grandma time starts now!
Have been doing the uglies this morning - laundry, vacuuming, dishes, etc - with Sarah's move - everything is out of place here!
Made a run down to the LQS, where I teach - forgot the supply list for my upcoming class - the open house for all the classes is tomorrow thru Saturday. All the new class quilts will be hung up for display and sign-ups start. I also got some fall fabrics for a door quilt that I want to make - we will see if it gets done by the start of fall! LOL This year!
Suzette - hope that things work out for you quickly and that is no way to be treated by the doctor's office! Good that you complained. That is the only way some things get corrected.
Judi - walking out with their money is a good thing! Gas too! Sounds like a beautiful place to visit.
Jules - Charley will be a great teacher - one that the kids all will want to have! Beautiful nails are a good thing - except if you are out in the dirt - like I am!
Maryz - 2 puppies! When it rains it pours! I am praying for Autumn.
Shirley Mae - Oh how I understand moving dirt! Even watching the tractor move 150 yards made me sore - then to clean up the mess - I was sore!
Delores - I loved walking on the Boardwalk down in Santa Cruz Ca. It was about a 2 hour drive from my house and during some high school days that were to pretty to be in school, we would sneak out and drive down there for the day - fun!
Sharona - make sure that you tape the labels on your boxes very well!! Lowe's always had the best prices on boxes and we got them there as they were stackable sizes together - made it easy to pack up the trucks for efficetncy( I can't spell today).
Mel - drive by works! LOL
Vicky - those blocks and quilt will be beautiful together. It is nice just to have a day to yourself.
Miriam - all of Sarah's new house is hardwood floors - now she is constantly sweeping and cleaning them! But she loves them!
Well need to get some more stuff done around here - quietly while little one is asleep.
Hugs to all!
Jana

Good afternoon from sunny, gorgeous, SW. Pa....Doesn't get much better unless I was sitting on a beach somewhere and then I'd need it to be warmer....
But since I'm not in my bikini (that would be a nasty sight) and I'm not on that beach, I'm in my kitchen canning relish...
My sister gave me a huge bag of green tomatoes and I'm having a tearful time chopping onions to get added to the pot....
Jim has gone to help a friend mow his yard (as if he doesn't get enough at home)...But, I have an idea, these 2 will be talking football most of the afternoon.....
Maryz, Do you think maybe the 2 puppies is an omen...And I also think you should think about taking both..What's 1 more???My friend has 3! Hope the massage helps with all the aches.....Autumn is right there at the top of my prayer list....
Suzette, you're right there on that prayer list also...So sorry you have to go through this....Stay positive!
Judi, sounds like you're having a great time....Always fun when you're with good people....I have never seen the movie but will have to try to find it...Can't wait to see the pictures of your trip...Of course you're also on that prayer list....
Chriss, glad to see you coming up for air...Was Mar excited about the 1st day? Our kids have been in school for over a week and now we're getting the knocks at the door for fund raisers...I think we've bought more cookie dough, pizzas, Christmas wrap and Jim's favorite, candy bars, to send a few kids to college, lol.....But, how do you refuse....Good luck with that new job..You Can Do It!
Well, I better get back to my tomatoes...The kitchen is smelling yummy...With the relish, you use spices and vinegar and I love it..But Terry didn't like it and when he was away at school, he'd come home weekends that I wasn't canning relish.....I told him I'd bottle the smell and send it to him.....Kids!
Best wishes for all those starting school, it's going to be a good year.....
You all have a great day..................

Good afternoon all. Haven't been on for a few days so I am a bit behind on everyone. I am getting very nervous about this stuff going on in Syria. As the mother of a military son I get so nervous every time something starts up even after 25 years. Every time my son was deployed to the middle east my stress level escalated. Please pray for our military that we don't get into another war.
Suzette - I will keep you in my prayers that all goes well with your treatment.
Jules - Good luck to Charley on her first day of teaching.
Shirley Mae - Have a good time at Grandparents Day at school. That is one of the things I miss out on since my grandsons live in California.
Leetec - So sorry for the loss of your father. Will keep you and your family in my prayers.
FarmChick - You are so right about the seasons. Here in NW Ohio it seems like we have either hot or cold although this year hasn't been quite so bad. My favorite time of the year is Fall. I love the weather and the trees changing color and it just doesn't seem to happen much anymore.
Chriss - Hope you get your promotion. Online classes should help you.
Maryz - I will pray for Autumn to get good news. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new Sheltie puppy.
Judi - Have a good time on Mackinac Island. I have never been there but I hear it is really beautiful. Will keep you in my prayers for your surgery.
Well, better go and get some lunch. Hope everyone gets some time to sew today.
Sherry

Re: Wednesday September 4,2013
I have to share a quilting story about this past week. My nephew lives in Texas and he and his girlfriend planned a "quick" trip up to NY to see my dad while he was still with us and planned to stop to see us in OH on their way up. We found this out on Wednesday and they planned to stop on Saturday. My DH wondered if there was anything we could send with my nephew, Jim, to take to my dad to perk up his sprits. My dad has always been a huge photography buff, it'll take us years to look through all his pictures, slides, movies, negatives..., so I thought he'd like a photo quilt with pictures of all us kids and grandkids. So I took 4 sheets of photo fabric, put lots of pictures on it and quilted it. My DN gave it to him on Monday. He said he sat there and just keep going over it. I'm so glad I was able to do that for him. I'm sorry I didn't get to see him enjoy it but that doesn't matter as long as I know he enjoyed it. My mother will keep it now.

It's a late day post again for me. Fishing report: I caught the biggest bass today. I am guessing it was about two pounds, that didn't matter, I just was glad I caught one and it was the biggest.
Still have not found the abundance of the bass. We think they are just scattered. But we will be off to try a different area tomorrow.
nice afternoon nap made up for the loss of sleep this morning. We got up at 4:15 am. We always take time for morning coffee before we go out and always hope to get body functions over with, too so as not to have those urges when out on the water.
Funny that neve seemed to be a problem when we were younger. Don't know why, but it just didn't seem to interfere?????
But now, it's a big deal. I got caught one morning and we struggled to get me back to the dock to a potty. That was not fun!!!!
Well, that's just too much info, so I will drop it. LOL
Leetec, so sorry about your DAD. Prayer of comfort for you all.
Suzette, still keeping yu in my thoughts. Hugs.

Re: Wednesday September 4,2013
Good afternoon—well, no sewing. DH had other plans. I went to town with him on rentals stuff, then came home and peeled/cored some apples. He brought home two five gallon buckets, so now I still have almost two bucketsful, a crockpot cooking applesauce and sliced apples to fry for dinner. I will have to think of something to do with the rest of the apples tomorrow. I’m going to take my bucket of peelings, cores and not-so-good apples to Timi and see if she will share with some of the other cows before she gobbles them all and gets a tummy ache.
Lee—so sorry about your Dad. What a neat thing you did with the photo quilt and he got to see it and enjoy it even for such a short time! How special your nephew could deliver it and get to see his uncle.
Sherry—I used to send colored leaves to my friend in San Francisco because she didn’t have maple trees to change for fall. We have several maples on the property that “flame” in vermillion shades in the fall.
O’Dorothy—I hear you about beaches and bikinis… I would have a private beach if I went out after everyone went running away at the sight of me… Your relish sounds sooooo good!!!
Velda—DH went fishing the other day and only got one strike. Good thing I had something else planned for dinner!
Jana—the hardwood floors are a job, but I think they are cleaner than carpet. I can’t believe what I sweep up every day!
Shirley Mae—one thing about weather here, it seldom stays for long… well, the heat stays, but rain and snow don’t last very long usually. I’m really tired of the heat.
Mel—I can always count on cleaning out my sinuses when watching “Somewhere in Time”.
Tina—you are always so busy!!! Yuck… bills!
Sharona—happy packing!!!
Back to the grind here…

Maryz-No update on the DWR since Monday. Other pressing matters have kept me out of the sewing room the last couple days. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to make it to the sewing room to add the last two rows after work. If not, definitely Friday. Then it will be off to the store for the batting.
Leetec- Condolences to you and your family. Prayers for comfort and healing over the next few weeks and months.

Returned from the Island where we had a fantastic dinner and did some shopping, I bought touristy things Sweat shirts for the kids But the fun thing was a shirt my sis bought for me....it says "MY SISTER HAS THE BEST SISTER". She got one too. And ken bought me a miniature Nantucket Basket. And a cute bracelet made from south american nuts,,,sounds funny but it is pretty. He can be so thoughtful. There are no quilt shops on the island. but we bought fudge too. it was an awesome day but I did get seasick on the boat ride home. Everyone laughs at me but I don't do well on boats.
Have a great night,,,,XXXOOO Judi
