Good afternoon!

First off - Sharona - WOW!! Your new house has my DD in tears as she looked at it - it is beautiful!!!! Now comes the fun part!

I am late as we got all five tiers frosted and ready to go. The new frosting that we used is amazing - tastes really good too - but what doesn't with butter, white chocolate, cream cheese and sugar! Just need to add the fondant stripe around the middle of 4 of the tiers, the bottom tier is covered in beautiful hand made tricot flowers. The bride and her mom made all of these flowers - about 200 of them for the cake. You make the petals and then melt the edges with a blow torch - then the edges curve and make the shape of the petals. They look similar to a ruffled carnation.

So no sewing for me today - just cake!

We had a doozy of a thunderstorm last night - lightning show like I haven't seen in years! Matt was at a meeting at Church - just a short ways from us in South Jordan - either the bolt of lightning hit the building or very close to it - he was standing in the Chapel - as it hit - all of the electrical plugs shot out arcs of electricity! No damage and no one was hurt - just startled.

The wedding for this cake is in jeopardy - it is outside at a park in SLC - at least the cake is under a gazebo! I am looking at storm clouds right now and it only gets worst in the later afternoon. Oh well the joys of living in the mountain west!

Ethan will go with us as we make the run to Trader Joe's before the wedding while Sarah is finishing the last touches of the cake at the park and then we will drop him off. The park has a lovely lake in the middle - Grandma knows just where Ethan will want to play! LOL

The kids just heard back on the rental as well - it is theirs! They will start the move on the 1st of September - they will rent both houses for that month - makes the move easy and time to clean up the rental and get back her deposit. Not much longer that I will have Ethan every day either - she will get to be a stay at home mom in a couple of months. This is what she has wanted since little boy was born!

Well I have things that need my attention to get done before we need to pack up the car and leave for the park -

Hugs
Jana

Help. DD1's Bff has had a quilt in storage for 24 years and decided to take it out and put it on the bed. It has never been used and was stored in a plastic bag. When she took it out, it has spots on it. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove them. Don't know what they are. She is obviously very upset.

Carole it's probably some kind of mildew. That one of the reasons you're not supposed to store quilts in plastic. Has she tried washing it at all?

No, she has not tried to wash it yet. I just sent her info on how to do that and we will see. Bet it is mildew. Thanks for your thoughts.

SHARONA - I just came in from working outside all day. I was thinking of your house and property. You're gonna need a tractor, girl! With a front bucket. Let's go shopping!

Sharona, Congrats on the home. Wow what a huge house. Looks so lovely.

Prayers for all who are in need.

Happy Dance for all of you celebrating victories.

I had a great day today with my sewing. Just playing around with some of my scraps. From our June Lotto Blocks, I had a bunch of HSTs. Put some of them together into a leaf block that I found through another website. It turned out better than I thought. Quite easy. Going to quilt it and back it tomorrow and make a oversized potholder to use as a "hot pad" for pot lucks, etc.

Made a few mug rugs and also finished a couple of other craft sewing projects that I learned from my neighbor. So simple and they make great gifts. You use a potholder and terry dish towel purchased from the "dollar" store. Then when put together, the potholder buttons over the handle of your oven door and gives you a handy hand towel close by for drippy fingers. Such fun.

Time to go fix dinner now, so I will say hello and goodbye until tomorrow.

Sharona your new house is drop dead gorgeous....I cannot wait to see the new sewing area.

I did not get good news today,,,,my bones are very bad,,,,getting more tests done....Please pray they come out good.

Scare crow is done and binding is done. even put a hanging sleeve on it...that is why I am known as the "good sister". and yes I still have the pattern, so I can make another one if i want. If i can will post a picture of it tomorrow.
