After cleaning up from the berry picking, I relaxed a bit and then decided to make a cobbler. I’ve watered again (different areas—the food garden)… it took a couple of hours to move the hoses around. Our heat index was 106 today--Too hot and too high humidity!!!
I did not get the cabin swap blocks ready to mail today. Maybe tomorrow…
We had some wheat growing on the pond dam, and I cut a sheaf of it, tied a bandana around it and hung it over the lantern (porch light).
Tomorrow will be more of the same… watering, black berry picking and maybe jam, and of course still more HEAT and HUMIDITY!!! The heat index was almost 110 today! Kansas in the summer is almost uninhabitable! We didn’t have AC when I was a kid. Grandma used to make us lay down and be quiet—reading or paper dolls—in the heat of the day.
Mary-Rosebud—good to hear from you!!! Good to hear you are sewing and not out of commission!
