Good morning ladies, I am finally back. We spent 15 days with my DD and GKS in S.C. We were so busy with them that I never even got on here. They are just so happy and enjoying just being together. It is just wonderful to see them like this after the year and a half they went through. The jerk and his jerky wife are still doing some nasty things to the kids, but they are not paying it any attention. The year and a half of hell we all went through is over and we are just happy to witness the happiness in this family now. Makes it all worth while.

We are in Williamsburg, Va and are a little disappointed in it. It is so commercialized that it is unbelievable. But we can say we have been there. This afternoon we are going to Jamestown and a LQS. Hopefully Jamestown will be better.

Reagan must be waiting for our arrival in Pa/NJ because she has not yet arrived. My DD2 says she is waiting for her Nana before she leaves her warm cozy place.

Chris, been thinking of you. Haven't even pulled out my sewing machine yet . Been working on my cathedral windows the past month when I got a chance. I will have to put a picture on FB. That is the only place I know how. Have fun with Marilyn. Clothes shopping with a teenager....I remember those days. Ugh.

MaryZ. How are you doing? So sorry to hear you had oral surgery. Almost as bad as going to an Italian Restraurant and only ordering noodles. Poor you. Have fun at your Rally. Love those things.

Tina , sorry I never got to answer your text. You would not believe how buy those four GDS kept us. Now to the NJ families. We already are babysitting my two GSs on Wed and Friday of next week. The Oldest and my love has many problems but he is his Nana's boy. He has a heart bigger than anything I have ever seen. He has terrets (sp.?) and is very special. Has so many different movements, but thankfully not the cursing kind. Looking forward to getting my arms around him.

Well once we get settled in NJ I will bring out that screaming Jane. She has been tapping on the door of the storage doors below yelling to get out. No wonder people stare at us and point to the bottom of the rig. It is a wonder someone hasn't called the police on us. Opppps. There she goes again. SHUT UP JANE.

Good morning!

Sarah is due to be here any minute with Ethan - her DH was the second deep leadership with a Boy Scout camping trip with Matt last night - so Stu went along too. Quiet at their house!

I have a ton - no pun - of books to fill the bookcase - I had four large bookcases in California and only one travelled here with us. Most of the books are still packed - but I have to wait a few days for the finish to cure - I don't want the books stuck to the shelf! Oh there is a shopping trip to help fill out the cases too - not with books, but with pretties! I saw some ceramic roosters at Hobby Lobby and Home Goods - we shall see ......

I am sore from moving the furniture - lifting the edges up to get those glides under the feet - the glides are wonderful - just picking up the edge is hard. I need to find the lift they make to go with the glides. We also need to get the earthquake straps to secure the bookcases to the wall. They are so big, they could topple over, especially if someone tries to climb them! I tie down all the tall pieces of furniture to the walls - just plain safer!

Well my Thursday cleaning got shot to hockey sticks and so I need to do it today - we are having a family dinner here on Saturday - it is fireworks show in Herriman - the park that they shoot the fireworks off from is not far from the house and is a straight line view from the deck! So we can play here and watch the show - lots of fun! All the cities in Salt Lake have big fireworks shows, between now and the fourth - we can see many of them from the back deck of the house. Fun!

The fabric I ordered doesn't even come close to the right yellow! So I am back to square one in finding something to make the borders on the quilt - I am now thinking of a soft green to match the stem of the poppy that is in the quilt. We shall see.

Well need to get started around here - I have furniture to refill and floors that need attention and a couple of turns with the washer - my dance card is full for the day!

Hugs
Jana

I'm wearing 1st time this yr. mini skirt neon pink Barbie logo sweatshirt fabric made with 2 squares and elastic waist. The compliments, maybe at an age where I have to sit tight to avoid disaster...Fat Stomach might get in the way of seeing my knees. Or should I say sit cramped for awhile. OK too much info already. Can you tell, it's friday in my head, and be at a fun, fun picnic salade buffet food, food last quilt quild mtg for year and spend mini dollars at the garage sale treasure finds, to brag great finds and those I couldn't afford..

Have a lovely wknd, no beach weather for Wpg. Showers Sunday..Guess, I get away from watering lawn.

Good morning all,

Boy, what a quiet Friday around these parts. There was no traffic on the way in to work today. I almost thought it was a holiday or something!

Jules, so good to see your post today. Congrats on the weight loss. So much easier to do when you have a "buddy" to do it with. Congrats to Charley, too.

Jacquie, girl I am so sorry to hear your news. We are all here for you. Heck, I have a spare bedroom that is all yours if you need a change of scenery! I don't know if it is the same over there, but here you would be entitled to part of his military pension, probably half of it. I sure hope it is the same for you there. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. On the bright side, your little Phoebe is so precious...congrats on the new little one on the way. Chin up and know you are not alone! Hugs

Well, it is starting to get busy in here....gotta run.

I'll try to pop back in later.

Love to all,
Mel

Good early afternoon from gloomy, dreary, slightly chilly, SW. Pa....

But, it's a Happy Flag Day no matter what the weather.....
Today is my #2 DS's 56th birthday....How in the world he ever got that old, I'll never know...When he was born, he weighed 8 lbs. 9oz. and had the biggest feet I had ever seen on a baby...Well, he's now 220, 6'4" and still has very big feet.....

I have loads of uglies to do but can't seem to get started...."Frick and Frack" were at it again....The ceiling fan in our bedroom hasn't been working properly and why should you call someone in to fix it when you have 2 able bodied people living right here, right??? Our bedroom ceiling isn't real high so I could stand on the bed and work on it, no problem...The problem is the 2 of us having different ideas...But, after taking off the blades, trying to keep the fur kids from taking the screws, trying to keep my balance, making sure the darn thing was level and then putting it all back together, Yea, it works....Next was going to be replacing the mini blind and half way through, I discovered, I bought the wrong size....I think Jim was happy to put on his shoes, go outside and get away from me......Can you imagine the 2 of us replacing the vanity????

Jacquie, so happy to hear the good news about the baby...This new little miracle will help with your heartaches....It is sad after that many years to separate but, you do have to think of your happiness....I saw it with my Kathy and when I see her now, so full of life, it's too bad she waited so long....

Chriss, I did run amok yesterday but I sure had a good time....Even if I did buy the wrong sized blind...I did get Jim one of those new pocket hoses they advertise on TV...Ted has one and we sure can't have him getting ahead of Jim in the hose department...
I'm not about to tell Jim that both you and Karlene had baked stuff that might be thrown away!

Cindy, I was thinking about you and your stress test...Hopefully, the meds will do the trick...It is amazing what they can do, heart wise, these days.....Sending special prayers for Ed and Vickie.....Enjoy your weekend.....

Chickie, When I heard about the special fabric, I thought of you right away.....Very anxious to see what you create....Sounds like you're having a great time with Natasha.....

Sorry, I can't stay and chat with you all but I really do need to start chasing those dust bunnies.....

My prayers go out to all those in the way of the nasty fires as well as all those in need......

You all have a great day.............

Hi Everyone,
Jacquie - Glad you have some sunshine news about the baby!

Irishgram - I bought a pocket hose after seeing a Consumer Report the hose lived up to its claim. We liked it so much we bought a second hose. Our gardener loves it!!

Jana - Your patience in waiting for the paint to cure will be rewarded!!

Suzette - Glad the storms passed by you.

Chriss - Hoping Marilyn has learned not to argue after her grounding a couple weeks ago.

Judi - Hope you are enjoying your time with the GK. Sounds brave to me!

Sharona - Enjoy the applique class!

Karlene - How nice of you to share your treasure!

Maryz - Hope the oral surgeon says you can eat normally!

Cindy - Prayers for Vicky and Ed. Enjoy camping.

Miriam - How fortunate you noticed the cherries were ready. Glad you are enjoying your time with your GD.

Carole - Glad to hear you are enjoying your time with your GK too!!

For me, I am busy with the Washing Machine and cleaning. I need to be resting too. My car is in for a repair before getting new tires.
